started at lv 57
99 darksteel 240k
8 stacks of yew 35k
8 earth crystals 8k
skilled up to lv 60
Failure 2 stacks
Success 31 stacks

total cost ~285k

single darksteel unquivered 20k
single quivered ~24k
quivered stack ~150k

as u can see if i sell all my stakcs @ 20k ill make about 600k

even if i were to sell them at 15k each stack i will still be able to make nearly twice as much as i spent. if youc an HQ tehse consistently, thats money.
if you can manage to find a friend to make you darksteel boltheads for free thats even bigger money.

not bad at all.
Crafting in MH
# Apr 11 2006 at 10:21 AM Rating: Decent
Of course you can craft inside your MH, should try something before posting that you cant.. although I dont see anyone who did.. Hmm.
It's best infact BECAUSE of elem in the air, because moghancement DOES work outside Moghouse, that cancels itself in this matter. But in crafting ALWAYS have moghance for the crystals element, it will save you millions. Well.. at least if your ingredients aren't ash lumber. at 80 smithing I spend 35k per synth, so I would be an idiot not to use moghance fire. Try it. You WILL notice less material loss, ONLY. Look at the durn key item for goodness sakes.. it tells what is does.. sheesh.

With woodworking at 58.8, I bought 3 stacks of materials (~80K), lost 10 crystals, and 5 of each material, and gained 0.9 skill.

So I ended up with 10 complete stacks, which sell for ~8K/stack on Shiva, so I'll lose about 5k from the listing fees. They seem to be selling halfway quick.

Sorry you lost so many synths. My only thoughts on how to reduce your losses, other than of course to "try again when skill is higher" (or to get a buff at the guild; I'm San d'Orian, so when I'm going to do a lot of scorps, I figure it's worth the investment of time and a lil gil), are:

1. Max out your mog house Earth energy. This, I understand, may lessen your chance of losing materials when you synth, and fail, using an Earth crystal. (It's NOT my understanding that mog house energy reduces the RATE OF failure itself, though.) I have "overwhelming earth energy" in my MH and often lose only 0 or 1 of the 3 ingredients when I do fail.

2. Craft only on the right "success" day of the game-week. Can't remember what that is just now, without my little charts. (Later, when success is easy due to your skill level and you're thus going for HQs instead, craft only on the "HQ" day of the week and/or New Moons, or, better, both.)

Important to remember though, is the crafting moghancements (from what I've researched) only work when you're in your inside your mog house.

I've tried to craft in my mog house before and it always tells me that I can't. Unless, maybe, it was a Rent-a-house thing in another country. I can't remember.

that makes no sense

how is that possible if you can't craft in your mog house?

Actually you CAN craft in your moghouse.

I doubt thats the case; since all the other moghancements effect you outside the moghouse. unless you can fish or gain conquest points inside your moghouse. From my understanding the moghancement is a harmony of your furniture that helps refresh you in special ways when you come home to relax. ie bonus that do not take up a slot.
