Well I know this is old, but I can't help it.
WHM does not get Barlight or Bardarkness, but Bard gets Light Carol and Dark Carol, and there are some NMs out there that make these extremely helpful, and worth giving up more +ATT to keep your sorry butt upright.

meh... it's good for Bomb Queen and a few AF NMs, but in most cases a WHM's bar spells are enough protection, no use sacraficing that extra +ATT or ballad for unnecacary protection.
