I was leveling woodworking, and following a guide that told me to take Silver Arrows to 30. I ran out of arrowheads at 28, and decided to move straight to Beetle Arrows at that point. I used Advanced Synthesis Support, and after about 12 or so breaks, I made it to level 30. From there, it was smooth sailing. Just figured I'd mention that the synth can be done pretty early with decent success.
when to make these
# Oct 27 2006 at 12:16 PM Rating: Decent
I started making these with advanced support at 33. Used support until it ran out just before hitting 36. Made them without support from 36-39.

I had no problem getting from 33-39 on only one stack of arrowheads and I have no earth stuff in my MH nor did I pay attention to the day I was crafting em.

Ended up with 28 stacks of arrows too, a nice profit synth if you farm most of your own ingredients - I bought 3 stacks of crystals and the arrowheads, the rest I farmed for myself.

Good Luck

PS: I agree with those who say it is a game and it doesn't matter, play it your own way and ***** those ingnorant bastards who tell ya how to play. I myself use +1 everything I can afford but that is me.

No because it's too far below your level, it would even allow you to attempt it, plus you would have too many fails that far below. You may be able to try once you hit 31-33 or so with advanced report. Just now you will still break a lot but this is okay because it's a cheap synth will lots of skillup opportunities

This will take you from 29 to 39 dirt cheap. Don't bother with a bridge synth, just buy a few stacks of materiels, put a few earth element furnishings in your mog house, get advanced assistance and start on a full moon on lightday or earthday and start burning earth crystals for the first two levels.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

arrow usage
# Mar 07 2005 at 6:11 PM Rating: Decent
this is possibly, at this level, the best arrow to use. Fang, normally, is more expensive to buy and use. People I suggest this over Iron and Fang. Don't hold it against me if you don't agree. It's an opinion.
Ramuh Beetle- $1000
Ramuh Fang- $2000
Ramuh Iron- $2000

See why I suggest this? Sorry for those that are not on Ramuh server!

A little secret for all you fools paying 2k for Iron arrows..... have you bothered checking the vendors? You can buy Iron Arrows for 7-11 gil each depending on your fame.... that's 1100 per stack (at most) for those of you who can't do the math. And for the rest of you paying the 2k per stack.... consider the extra thousand a laziness tax.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 16 2005 at 7:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Any RNG who on lev 30 uses anything other than Zamburak+1 with Holy/Acid bolts setup is clearly and unmistakenly noob. And those who suggest to take Beetle over Fang because of 1k price difference...why don't you go play other job..RNG is NOT for poor, really.

Yeah... im a bow useing rng before 50 for the simple reason that they do more dmg. Terribly noobish i know. I find the dmg output of a +1 bow to be a lil more then the mighty +1 crossbow. After 50 yeah give me a gun and some silver bullets, but til then archery.

or could be using a bow for a certain skillchain maybe? to call someone a noob because they dont have a certain equip, is foolish and ignorant.
so ur gonna call anyone without an emp hairpin, noct+1 gear and LL boots a noob too? i hate people ranting about OMG YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS OR ELSE YOU SUCK! i hate that mentality and its that kind of behavior that makes me hate human beings as a whole even more.
(yes i'm a human being too, and yes i know im insulting myself)

All archery and marksmanship WS's are interchangeable with each other in a SC. Flaming Arrow = Hot shot, Sidewinder = Slug shot etc. Sarzecc is right in saying that at 30 a Zam +1 with acids and holys owns anything you can use at that level, by a lot. But, he's an idiot none the less.

I think it was generally agreed to do this @ lvl30 by most of the ppl on my server. Looking at the costs/resale of other items one could make it is probably the right choice.
What I did, I waited for Earthsday with a full moon and the advanced synth buff. I did 5 stacks of ingredients. This got me to level 34 and I ended up with 12 stacks of 99 arrows, so basically an overage of 2 of the 5 stacks failed. Small price to pay.

Beetle Arrow second recipe
# Feb 19 2004 at 9:04 AM Rating: Default
I did a test yesterday, and I can tell you that:

1 X Wind Crystal
1 X Arrowwood Log
2 X Yagudo Feathers

with either 1 Beetle Jaw or 1 Beetle Jaw and 1 Bone Chip is not working. I still have to try with 2 or 3 Beetle Jaws. If I find something that works, I'll post it.

"Beetle arrows require level 17 to use, Silver arrows require level 24 to use. Beelte arrows require woodworking skill 35, Silver arrows only require 26. Backwards?? "

Perhaps its because of that attribute boost of +5 to ranged accuracy. This (and about 5 other items)is how Elvaans make it as rangers.

This recipe is incorrect. Beetles are made with chocobo fletchings, not Yagudo.
RE: Wrong.
# Feb 19 2004 at 9:31 AM Rating: Default
you are correct, CHOCOBO fletchings for this recipe. please fix it so someone else doesn't buy yagudo fletchings only to find out they needed chocobo. (guess i learned my lesson about double checking recipes)
