Ok i just gotta do it... I scroll down reading post and as usual i find a post about macros. Why why why does everyone insist on putting a wait line in healing macro's.. My healing macro currently has 5 equipment changes and a /heal command. Before i got my HMP earring it was 4 equip changes and a cookie.. no waits. I dunno, i just think its weird that ppl are still adding waits to heal macros. I notice it too with casting macros. for example. /equip main "fire staff" /wait 1 /ma "Fire IV" theres no need for the wait. From my experiance as long as a staff is equipped before the spell goes off it will add the effect. So there is no need to /wait.. Only exceptions are fast spells like the Blm DoT's like choke, burn, shock. an the only reason these get /wait on mine is because imma 75 Blm/rdm with R.pumps. So those spells are almost instant cast. So i added a /wait just in case.

Idk this was my little rant for the month. Just never understood why ppl add /wait..

And im sure i coulda posted this in a better place, but hey i was here and i saw the macro here soooo i ranted here :p

-.- Ok, you invest countless hours cooking, and thousands upon thousands of gil until you can make your own. I dont think you realise the amount of effort it takes to reliably hq these puppies.
'Just food"?! these are the finest cookies money can buy!

Rate me down for being an **** but sheesh, you shouldn't have messed with the cookies ><

Just to assist in the point people are trying to make on this page. I'm level 90 cooking and just tried making these. I made a total of 1155 cookies, and only 33 of them were Wizard Cookies. 1122 Ginger / 33 Wizard / 1 break. I'm sure if I would have waited until new moon, or a better day than Lightning the results would have been better...

lol. wizard cookies are right up there with sole sushi for melee ... while cookies are @ 70k a stack, sushi is at 65-80k a stack.

Food can make a difference, if you don't need it good for you but for those that do need will pay any given price.

as for the makers, HQ is not easy ;; the HQ is our payoff for hours of sitting with crystals in our hands and losing countless ingredients. HQ is our trophy ^^ and what do poor people do with their trophies? well they sell them of course >:D

They are the best money can buy I've paid as much as 90k for a stack on Phoenix and would do it again without blinking an eye

I bought these to replace a rdm or brd in a pt with all my +mp regen gear. Set up was BLM/WHM, WHM/BLM (me), NIN/WAR, MNK/WAR, WAR/NIN. We lvl'd like champs from 65 to 68 in Bibiki Bay in a matter of hours. They are well worth it, that and I'm awesome ;) JP pt's. I love them!
Cheers,

Is there a direction or Moon phase that works best? TY

Melon Pie +1 or Wizard cookies?
RE: Vs. Melon Pie+1
# Nov 21 2005 at 1:29 PM Rating: Decent
Kaiser, BLM friend of mine 72, uses either. Depending on PT formation. He says, "Depending on situation, like if I need more INT+ for MB etc, then I'll stick with INT+ food, yet if it's a PT that already has alot of DD I'll go for MP+regeneration while healing* food."
I would use MP+RWH* For more nukes.
Hope this helps.

yay +# mp while healing
# Jun 20 2005 at 4:41 PM Rating: Decent
elvaan blm/rdm. i use the lower quality ginger cookies right now, and i love them, and am looking forward to when i can afford to start spending the extra cash on Wizard Cookies. having a huge pool of mp is meaningless if you have to wait 5 hours to get it back inbetween battles. for my average xp party, i use about 65% of my total mp each fight, and usually get back 60% before the next pull. because of these cookies i'm always ready to nuke, debuff and help heal.

also because of these cookies, i feel quite confident forsaking any +mp rings like astrals, mana and electrum rings for the more usefull +int rings. i often have 140-200 less mp than any other mage, esp. tarus. and i still nuke/enfeeb just as hard, and i've always got all my mp back in time for the next.

note: i also use seer's tunic and warlock's earring while medding. made a set of macros to switch my equip and use a cookie.

using this set up. the only downside i've found is with linking mobs, this is when i may run the risc of not having the MP pool to fall back on, but in a good pt, this happens only rarely, and i always have Manafont to whip out.
wow.. needs an update..
# May 19 2005 at 10:49 AM Rating: Excellent
ok, just to give a little update.. i see that not very many have posted since updates. Wizard cookies now give +7 while "on the knee" and do last for 3 min.. and yes, even at high lvl.. these things rock.. as smn, I have a massive MP pool in the first place, but this, as most know can be used up fairly quickly while playing smn. More MP starts being kind of useless after a point, rather than how fast you can recover it for less down-time, and better chains. with Pluto's staff (+10 MP while healing) + Wizard Cookie + and a drink if i'm really low.. this leads up to roughly +24ish MP while resting (if you count the ticks from drink) if you're in a tight spot. 1000 MP can be healed in an extremely short period of like this. As for blm, I pretty much did the same thing, and even bought extra gear for the extra +MP while heal.. ppl will usually put a funny face or two in chat because you're healing all your mp from empty to full twice as fast as the rdm that has 1/2 as much mp, and refresh on =P
don't knock it...

ok don't knock my baby, hMP... as a BLM 60+ i tend to use a ton of MP each fight. I'd rather have healing MP than max MP any day. The +hMP is cumulative, so the first tick you'll get an extra 7, the next tick will be the same as the first +1 more MP, so if you sit to heal for like 5-6 ticks, thats an extra 35-42 mp you woulda missed out on

I know ginger cookie is +5hMP and i've seen on other sites that wizard cookie is +7hMP, and as the HQ i'd hope it has more.

Also I have verified that the ginger cookies (and thus the wizard cookie most likely) has the added effect: Plantoid Killer. Go figure...

Bad Math
# Jan 26 2005 at 9:46 PM Rating: Decent
umm... i think your math is a lil off...
5 mins*99 cookies=495 mins
495mins/60=8.25 hours
if you wait 5 mins between cookies its 16.5 hours

wizard cookies are the ultimate mp needing mage's food.

guaranteed to be 7mp per tick while healing.

This lasts 5mins and a stack of 99 will last you about 6-7 hours because of beling able to eat only before healing.

Ginger cookies are the highest mp for its cost of only 12 gil from your rank 1 mule if i remember correctly. So you get 6hrs of 5mp per tick for about 1188gil hahah.

um..HELLO!!!..thats MP while HEALING. sothis is NOT the ultimate in mage food. yes, it IS cheap, and ALOT of people can afford this. Ultimate MP foods for mages are Marron Glace and Mushroom Stew

Glace = +13%MP(85MP max), +1MP regen while healing. 3hr food ~ 4K on my server (midy)

Stew = +40MP, +4MND, -4STR, +4MP regen while healing, lasts 3hrs ~ 15K (friend can make me 12 for 80K)

THOSE are great foods. you get MP + the regen effect. i think there are other stats on the Glace. i just cant remember them right now.

Well. thats what i think atleast. but who knows, cookies might be better for you. I do carry some in a pt if i see that the mages are not eating anything. so they can get some MP back. usually 10-20 lvl pts dont eat too much food..and i do use them when i am helping with a AF or something like that.

No the stew actually does -4 enmity, a pld really shouldn't eat this.

Mage food. My mages are addicted to orange kuchen. 180 min food. +1 mp regen while healing and not sure if mp is +~ or +% but the higher the level the more mp you get. and it is less than 1k if you know where to shop. Do they have apple pineapple grape or melon is the real question.

I have to admit, I'm addicted to orange kuchen. Mostly because it's plus 80 (85?) mana, and it's cheap. The only reason I don't like cookies is because they don't last long. I don't think I could handle remembering to use one after every other battle, I'm bad like that, maybe I'll try though.

/item "XXXXXX Cookie" <me>
/wait 1
/equip main "Dark Staff"
/heal

only thing annoying is that the cookie and Refresh ALWAYS wear right after I get my first tick. other than that its just the occasional "XXXXX is full"

HMP+7

It's HMP+7 As a 35 WHM with Seer's and eating this I would get +26 MP from the first tick.

Hey guys. This item has changed along with it's low qual version ginger cookie.

Ginger cookies are +5mp while healing (5 mins I believe but it might be 3 mins)

Wizard cookies are being tested out by myself right now. I'll post up the answer sometime soon.

It's kinda like honey but with the additional 12 MP. You MAKE it at a high lvl, but it's a semi-beneficial item to sell to lower lvls.
question about this
# Aug 24 2004 at 6:32 PM Rating: Default
why does it say "Regenoration recoverd by healing 1" does it mean 1 MP per sec? cause its kinda pointless to be able to make it at such a high level
