WTF?!

I JUST ate one, and I feel SOOO screwed. I feel like I've been the victim of some bad joke...I get +2 STR, that much is true, however I got less that 1% attack power. I did a calculation, and it came out to be 0.94% boost. WTF?! not only that, I feel as though it's hurting my accuracy! I'm a 73 DRG, and I'm lagging SO FAR behind my SC partner...I'm holding the party back as a result of this crap. if this is a glitch, it needs to be fixed, because as a joke, its not funny....

This is probably my favorite food for LOW level jobs. It gives the following stats:

* HP +10
* Strength +2
* Vitality +2
* Intelligence -1
* Attack +30% (Cap: 20@66 Base Attack)
* Ranged Attack +30% (Cap: 20@66 Base Ranged Attack)

However, it's definitely the wrong food for a 72 DRG. Sorry you had to learn the hard way. :/

the attack boost caps at 20...so the most you can get from it is 20 atk, no matter what your attack is

I did not make this to level, too many ingredients.

From 68-71 I made Pearl au Lait, which sold a bit in Jeuno. From then on I alternated with Tuna Sushi and Chocomilk. Tuna sushi, if you can take the breaks and pull off at least 3 stacks (it makes 4) meaning 9 successful to make a profit. Even if you only get 3 stacks, you still make up your loss.

Chocomilk I sold to the Restaurant in Windy Waters for 300, you lose money with it, I'm just to scared to figure it out. (the Kukuru beans can be found in Kazham next to the airship landing, it's a vendor.)

These are the recipes:

Tuna Sushi

* Crystal: Earth
* Key Item: Raw Fish Handling
* Distilled Water x1
* Ground Wasabi x1
* Gugru Tuna x1
* Rice Vinegar x1
* Tarutaru Rice x1

Chocomilk

• Crystal: Fire
• Distilled Water x1
• Honey x1
• Kukuru Bean x4
• Maple Sugar x1
• Selbina Milk x1

I got a lot of breaks from 71.0-71.5, for some reason.. the rest was ok... anyways both these recipes cap at 77.

The Tuna at the AH is overpriced. You can get some on the Mhaura->Selbina Ferry (sometimes) or at the Windy Fishing guild (sometimes, I dont know why it varies.)

Worst Skill Up Ever
# May 07 2005 at 9:57 AM Rating: Default
Omg cooking this food to skill up and selling to NPC for 326G is EXTREMELY UNPROFITABLE. I tried cooking this 3 times, once at lvl 69 with Advanced Synthesis on firesday and got around .3 skillup for 2 stacks. Then again at lvl 70 on windsday in Sandy 3 stacks and got .3 skill up(don't try this). And once more at lvl 73 on icesday and only got .4 skill up per 2 1/2 stacks.
However, when I tried cooking the Salmon Mueniere on any random day, I got 2.7 skill ups in around 5 stacks.
Cost to make: 1100-1300 for each
Sell to NPC: 300
around -900g deficit X 12 = 9000g loss per stack
9000gX12 stacks = 108000G loss for maybe 3 skill ups.
Recommendation: Don't cook this unless you want to use it for guild points or eat it.

personally i have to disagree

i used rarab meatballs to level from 72 to 75 and took about 3 hrs to round up the ingreds (10 stacks of each ingred and fire) from the various vendors, buy the hare meat (i grow my own crystals), and about 3 hrs crafting time (includes ls chatting etc). i had over a 70% success rate. so for me the cost was reasonable especially since i timed this when it was a gp request and got good gil at the ah for the extras ^^

tips:

be a good shopper
face the necessary direction to stay in the prime skill up zone. whats that you may ask?

check out this crafting timer (i use it religiously):

I just combined these ingredients and made a Rarab Meatball....Is there Blackened Hare? The Stats are the same as the Rarab Meatball.
wrong stats?
# Mar 02 2004 at 5:56 AM Rating: Decent
Somehow I doubt that a lv.76 hare meat recipe would have the same food effects as a lv.5 hare meat recipe (grilled hare). I think there must be some sort of mistake here.

It says the rarab meatball gives hp & mp as well as the str and int modifiers. blackened hare just gives the str and int modifiers.

Anon is quite possibly right. I'll try and confirm this, but "blackened" and "roasts" usually refer to DEX food.
