Hey, I was just wondering if the MP Drain was only when you throw it or do you just have to have this item in the ranged spot? Like, will it drain MP when it's just in the ranged box?

Please help me! I camped this thing for 6 hours last week... I saw the ??? but as soon as i got INVIS off...itmoved... and i couldnt find it again... My fiance has also beencamping it for the past 2 weeks... with no success of even finding it.
Please, if you are phoenix server... I could really use help...I need this for my RDM 31... My highest job.. Help would be appreciated.

well if your only a lvl 31 rdm, you won't be able to kill it even if you get it. Its got about 2500 hp. Takes me a while to kill it as a 55 pld. Wait till your around lvl 41 with refresh and you could kill it. Don't expect to get the Talthum very often tho im 3/17 i think.
I must have got really lucky on this. I know because earlier I'd had the hardest time (before the patch) Gilsellers were all over the place and I only got it 4 times and not one dropped. I gave up for the longest time because I was waiting around an hour and then it would get snatched by a 50drg/25thf that I'm pretty sure was a gilseller. I don't really care much that someone got it but the fact that all my work was in vein. So then recently I tried my luck and noticed that none of the people I thought were gilsellers were there. Got the morion almost instantly but no drop. Tried two more times and got it on my third try. Pretty nice considering the spawn time was a lot lower seemed like 25 mins now instead of the usual hour. So I helped a JP ranger that was leveling while I waited. They did the (Thank You) and I said ^_^. So helped them level while I waited. Over all now that the gilsellers are gone it was a lot more fun.
Also about the spawn points. They've been moved recently but still in the relative area. If you see a lot of worms nearby you should eventually see a ??? nearby. Be patient though. Recomend the one area near the exit to eastern Altepa Desert as it's usually not camped as much. Good luck getting this.

Well, you could just stick into your macro an equip command that automatically makes sure your bow and arrows are on every time you use it.
/equip Range "name of bow"
/equip Ammo "name of arrow"
/equip Range "name of bow"
/equip Ammo "name of arrow"

LMAO, I did the same sh** 2 days ago. Worst thing is that I actually highlighted ability, went to ranged attack, and then press X. As soon as I press X my first reaction . . . . . "Oh Fu**!"

Before this thread I would unequip it and leave it in mog if not Xping, but as redmage 46 I get party invites all the time and wouldnt have it with me when needed sometimes.
So I put /ra "bow" in my solo pulling macro.
Seemed to work. So next outing I took "My precious" with me. Still not sure what happend. I hit pull macro and nothing on first attempt. Figured I moved you know. I hit it again and instead of the normal visual of plucking the bow string I see my elvann croutch and "OMG" throw something.
Darn thing hit for 30+ damage far below my 180+ on TWTBW. I look and no arrows equiped with the bow. Search through inventory and "NOOOOOOOO. Semgol lost His Precious" Cost me two days farming to buy another one. Think Im leaving it in the mog again from now on. SUCKS but now LMAO.

This item has become overcamped on Valefor, reportedly by gil sellers. The price was around 30k for the longest time, but is now 50k. I actually got mine from the NM itself. I'm considering selling it now that the price has gone up. It's not really all that great of an item, and I'd rather have the money for other things. (Wind Staff, Earth Staff, Morion Earring, Wizard's Earring, misc scrolls)

Yeah, i am on valefor also and the price has shot up. it has gone up to 100k witch is crazy for this item. SE did change the spawn points and the drop rate and the respawn time. Oh well, guess i haave to live with out it ;;

On Shiva this thing is crazy overcamped lately. The price has gone from 30k to 65k ^^

I noticed him at the same time he snagged the ???.. I wasn't even worried about speed since I was alone. he killed it and immediately logged out. I felt especially stupid since I'd been thoughtful enough to clear away all the other worms that might link on.

how do you get a freaken bot to run around the area and trade and fight the monster o.O

IMO i think bots are a type of cheating, and yes they do need to be stopped
on Unicorn server me and my freidn do this weekly, its a fun NM to hunt but its heavily camped, theere are 2 peeps all the time besides us..two lvl 50's wrer lvl 50 too but if u do a search all then one of there names there always there, there not bots because they have talked to use b4 but they are chuinese so i see ni haio and crap, but we sometimes beat them but they are very fast

Just FYI the JP and some other foriegners have the ability to voke 10x a second. basically it's like hitting ur voke macro 10x in a sec but no person can actually do that so they have it programmed into their code.

i first would like to ask that is this a guaranteed drop? if so i know that you give a iron ore to a certain spot in Korroloka. no i dont think its not something u literally throw but if you look at the effects then you see why its so much and that people use it for its effects

it can be thrown but once u throw it's gone forever and u have to find another >.< or if ur a rdm or blm or hell nething that actually needs the damned thing u won't be throwing it ne way (and yes that means that RDM's are crappy pullers cuz they need mp) hell u won't even equip a ranged item because itll be a waste of money for a mage. but ne way the only reason to have this item is for the MP +3 and INT +1. Just don't throw the damned thing or you'll be kicking urself in the *** later.

No, this is a lvl 30 NM so it is tuff already. Plus, there are usually 5-7 other worms around the spawn point and they all link. You will get owned.

I spent 45k on this thing, and I'm glad I did. It's a slot I'm never going to use, and I won't look stupid with it in my inventory all the way up to 60 :P Now Morion's Earrings.. Those little devils cost 100k on my server. After Dispel/this/Holy Phial.. I couldn't afford them ; ;
Just to clear things up, this thing stacks to TWELVE not 99. I've camped this thing many times and i know. I've also seen it on the AH for 12.

Around 20k each on Caitsith. Not really worth it for MP+3 and INT+1.
But it's still a good thing for any BLM, since we aren't using the Ammo slot anyway. I'm 0/3 on the worm. :(

not worth it? of course it's worth it, omg y wouldnt u want one, it goes into a slot that u wouldnt use otherwise and gives + to MP & INT.

its not worth it for the risk now that the mons flees in fight 90k and u accidently throw it maybe people who buy gil or are greedy and have millions will but ....no.. you should be slapped if u pay more then 20k for it sorry the risk out weighs the need

ok enough of this the reason someone would sell a stack is because you can make earrings out of these they are not to be thrown but sense it is a ammo im and like a dart they have to make it appear like a throwing item

Wow, well after reading this i understand that it is not a good an item as i have been told, obviously not worth 40k, i was planning on using it for my DRK for the mp drain effect, but now i know that the ability only works when you throw it i must decline. Allthough this can be great for BLM's who have some money to spend, the extra INT and minor MP points do assist in some way. Allthough i would expect BLM's to be out of money by 25 because of various items such as Black magic scroll's.
It's good if you can get it yourself, but I would save your money rather than buying it. As a DRK, you'd probably have to be about lvl 39+ to solo it.

After finding out how easy it was to find/kill this nm, i decided to test out with TH2. With one person camping at 2/6 spots, and me using flee to get between the two others, i killed the worm 7/8 times in about 2-3 hours. 7 Times, lots of copper ores, tin ores, 1 dark steel, 2 iron. No Morion Tathlum. I lose the last one to a japanese beastmaster/whm, he gets the drop. Ahem...i was cursing TH2 so much my ls told me to shut up. Seriously, ***** the worm, Morion Tathlum is only 40-45k at Garuda Server, mining is faster at this rate.
