I just dug up 1 set of these bolt heads in La Theine Plateu using Scavange.

I believe this is part of the increased types of scavangable items included in the recent update.

Yeah, each zone that can be scavenged now has all the materials to make bolts or arrows. Ie, demon arrows in [Valley of Sorrows], fang arrows in [Buburimu Peninsula]. Not something you're going to get rich on, but during exp parties it should help to cut on arrows.
Smithing required as subskill

I can also confirm that this receipe requires Smithing as subskill.

I was level 13 in Smithing and 26 Alchemy when I did this receipe, it gave me skillups on both, and eventually Smithing skillups stopped when I reached 14 Smithing.
Wrong Requirements

I just failed like 50 in a row at level 27 skill. Both Allakhazam and Mysterytour have it wrong. There is definitely another craft skill required to make this item. Since it was winds day, and I had a wicker box in, I just kept crafting away at this item till level 30 and sold the left over materials back to the AH. I would still get alchemy skill for trying, and the moghancement + day made it so I only lost the crystal most of the time.

If you got skill ups on failure then you were within 5-6 levels of the cap. A previous post mentioned smithing as a requirement, which is probably true. You wouldn't have got any skill ups on failures for smithing if you were well below the smithing cap.
Blacksmith required

He failed because this synth also requires you to have Blacksmith at 14 in addition to Alchemy 31 (not 32).
Can't make them??

A friend of mine is a level 35 Alchemist and is trying to make some blind boltheads for me. He has failed in horrendous fashion at least a dozen times losing most materials each time. Could this skill cap be wrong? Anyone else have any experience with these?
