While doing Alchemy I hit level 51 doing Holy Water. Hi-Potions are a pain because of the Malboro vines. Even though you can start at 52, I tried at 51 + Advanced Synth Support with no success.

Using all that Holy Water from 47-51, I made Holy Bolt Heads to "bridge the gap" from 51-53. Of course I had to level Smithing, which was no loss to me at that point. I tried Hi-Potions after that with minimal failures.

This definatly requires more than 0 smithing, I couldn't do it at all with lvl 55 Alchemy and a friend of mine with lvl 72 smithing and lvl 49 alchemy did it 12 times with no blowups.

The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Looking at some of the arrow heads they require smithing, but most bolt heads don't seem to require it, but who knows what is wrong. Do you have any smithing skill? I have like 1 in smithing =p Did you see any smithing raises when doing them? Maybe I just had bad luck or crafting the wrong day, I think it was on watersday =p.

Ralluwen is right about the recipe, it is :

Yield 6
Wind Crystal
Holy Water x2
Bronze Ingot x1

I don't understand why you went 0/6 at level 51, I went 6/7 (or something like that) at level 52 without support, only getting a skill raise of .2 total.

ps If you get skill ups on your failures, the recipe is not above your level, it is a recipe you should be making.

As of this posting the recipe listed here is wrong (Wind+Holy Water+Bronze Ingot), I could however sythesis using a wind crystal and adding TWO holy waters and one bronze ingot. I cannot verify that this is the correct recipe for this item as I was not successful on any attempts. I have 51 alchemy, and I could not make this on about 6 attempts so it would seem it is much higher then 53 or has an additional skill requirement. I did however get 0.2 skill on my attempts, so I can verify that much =p

When I can say conclusively that this is the recipe I will submit a correction unless someone else can test this out or it is corrected before.

Additionally, these are actually holy BOLT heads for crossbows. The skill to make the bolts is not that high, actually. If I can remember, it's, perhaps, between 15-20.
