On Gilgamesh, I know that Utsusemi: Ichi sells for 250k, so you make a deduction.

in case anyone was unclear on this, the Ni version of utsusemi has a shorter recast time, and casts 4 shadow images instead of 3. it does not stack with utsu ichi. generally speaking, i feel that the easiest way to get this scroll is to do "steaming sprouts" BCNM40, and have a BRD, WHM, and PLD. have the BRD keep horde lullaby up, whilst the PLD systematically dismantles all the mandys. WHM can be substituted for a NIN, i suppose, since it makes sense that you'd want this scroll as a NIN. i prefer to keep the WHM, as it's easier to keep the PLD alive like that.

and that, my pals, is the easiest way to get the Ni scroll.

This is the biggest bullcrap post ever. The WHM would be out of MP before the Black Mandy was dead, even if the BRD never missed a sleep.

You cannot beat this with 3 people.

Least I have ever see in 5 BSTs.

lol. no doubt.

We had 8 people doing this BCNM last night (extra mage and beastie taking turns sitting out) and we won each time. We had the beasties charming them to fight each other while the bard kept the rest asleep - I kept the bard alive and the mages awake, as well as some emergency healing.

When it was my turn to trade the Orb, I got Erase and Utsusemi:Ni as well as some other decent drops. ^^ W00t! Over a million gil in drops on my first Steamed Sprouts orb.

I am pretty sure that 3 people can not beat Bcnm 40 steaming sprouts =P

Does Ni stack with Ich or does one override the other if you try to cast with the other still active?

What I dont understand, is when a mob (ie - Yagudo Conquistidator) uses Utsusemi: Ni... it casts 4 shadows on the mob.

Cause utsusemi NI creates 4 shadows, Utsusemi ichi creates 3.
From this BCNM, too.

it is the same as the first version in that it makes 3 copy images.. it takes longer to cast and has a shorter recast time. (or was it the other way around)

its good because you can cast 2 different spells so you dont have to wait for one to cool down.. much like sleep and sleep II

The Ni version takes a shorter time to cast, i believe. This is according to an LS member that was talking about it the other day, Lvl 43 ninja.

Utsusemi Ichi takes 4 seconds to cast
Utsusemi ni takes 1.5 seconds to cast

Very handy when Agro is on you and your backup take doesn't know how to voke...... lol

Also Utsusemi: Ni creates FOUR shadow images, while Utsusemi: Ichi only creates THREE shadow images

Ichi is for lvl 12 and is the basic version, Ni is for lvl 37 and is the "II" version (like Water and Water II)

Ok i'm a 61 ninja. Here's the dif between utsusemi ichi and ni. First of all utsusemi ichi takes about 2-3 secs to cast not sure which. Utsusemi ni takes about 1 second. Second utsusemi ichi only has 3 shadows whereas utsusemi ni has 4 shadows. This means utsusemi ni protects you from 1 more attack then ichi does.

hehe the new update made this scroll questable... not sure on the exact deteails of where.. but i heard its a new BCNM level 30... the only drawback is that you can only have 3 people in your pt.. good luck n get them b4 theres a rush of scrolls of Ni on your servers ><
RE: now questable
# May 03 2004 at 9:29 PM Rating: Excellent
if you consider a BCNM to be a quest then this has always been questible with the BCNM40 fights. The BCNM30 are recent addition and are apparenlty a real ***** to do (some ls peeps have tried twice and gotten beaten down both times)
# Feb 21 2004 at 2:08 AM Rating: Default
Does this affect the whole party with one cast or do you have to cast it seperately

Interesting... on July 1st this was like 100k cheaper. I was thinking about starting a NIN but the price of the :Ichi version kinda squashed my hopes... But hey I'll buy you this version if you buy me the lower lvl one^^. ;)
RE: Casting
# Aug 04 2004 at 8:54 PM Rating: Decent
Dont bother buying Utsusemi: Ichi, not worth it, go quest for it. Takes some work for the fame, but the quest is relatively easy.
RE: Casting
# Mar 15 2004 at 4:33 PM Rating: Excellent
it has nothing to do with yourt party, this is a self target spell only

# Feb 17 2004 at 10:07 PM Rating: Decent
it's a rare drop from any of the burning circle notorious monster(BCNM) 40 fights

What is a Burning Circle Notorious Monster? And where can I find one?
RE: where?
# Mar 18 2004 at 11:51 AM Rating: Excellent
burning circle notorious monsters, (BCNM) are where you goto port jeuno and find the NPC that talks about orbs. you will need 40 beastmen seals to get the star orb. which is the one used to have a chance on getting this. then take the orb and trade it to the burning circles located around vanadiel. also, you will HAVE to have a full party of lvl 40s (the lvl is capped at 40), a bard is a requirement to win. So that you can sleep the other mobs and fight one at a time. and bards dont use mpo to do it (like blm). the rest is your standard party, tanks, healers etc. and these are HARD battles. And then when its all done, pray to the gods of gaming that you win the lot for the scroll you need. i suggest doing it with IRL friends or atleast trusted LS members. so that if you provide the orb, they may be nice and let you have choice of scrolls that can drop. Since the BCNM40 can also drop Erase and Phalanx and Refresh(much cheaper than the rest)
