With the new WotG expansion there are boots called sprinters boots, they stack w/ nin af boots incase you were wondering, tested it out between me and another nin, both w/ af boots at night, but I had the sprinters boots activated.
Added icon, fashion shot, and flagged for coffer.
Can I pick this coffer as my 75thf or do I have to be my nin and open with a coffer key?

Got ninja kyahan yesterday very easyly hardest part finding some1 to help but 75 ni in ssg help mee kill a couple razerjawpugil and in 5 mins ssg coffer key after that he had top go 75 whm help me find coffer chest find in 5 mins anyway i dont think this key is bad drop at all gl to others and ty to nin and whm for help

Do you have to start the quest w/ guslam to get the armor? It's just that I still have rng af hands on w/ guslam and that's all he'll speak about. If I do have to follow through w/ the rng stuff, do I have to go as far as fighting DS or just getting the old gauntlets? - thanks for any input >.<

Can you go as any job or do you have to be Ninja when you open the coffer?
Pretty sure you have to be the job of the AF your trying to get. I do know you can be any job to kill the NMs involved in doing AF, as long as you have quest active of course.
when obtaining coffer AF, you MUST BE THE JOB THAT NEEDS IT. however onec the quest is active for AF 1 and 2 you can go as any job. AF3 however, you must be the job thats getting the AF, as well as for the dark spark quest. haven tried it differently on dark spark though.

Dark Spark can be done as any job too. Any coffer or quest that grants a key item can be done as any job. It is like any other quest, once is active you will only receive the quest item. This does not apply to the AF pieces that don't require quest, in which the coffer grants you the actual item.

I was just thinking about sumthing pretty cool, what is you had the Akelton for your country, these boots, you casted flee on yourself and sum1 casted chocobo Masukara on you.

flee doesnt stack with movement speed + items, but mazurka does stack
Flee + movement speed items stack. Mazurka + Flee does not stack. You will only receive the bonus of one movement speed item if you wear multiple items.

im just wondering, i started the quest from Guslem for the Samurai af. Do i have to finish the Samurai one to do Ninja?

um, yea, kinda hard to believe a 70+ ninja doesnt know his AF, so here it is a 53NIN:
52-ninja hakama-> ryoma in norg, leo guy in rabao, mhaura to selbina boat nm.
60-ninja tekko-> talk to Guslam in upper jeuno, the same as any other job, he will the gloves quest, which u need before u can pop coffers for aF.
54-ninja kyahan-> sea serpeant grotto coffer (which im about to do..)
56-ninja hakibiri ? (mask)-> boyhada tree coffer.
58-ninja chainmail-> THIS one is Ryoma, kill 3 sahagins in yhoator, go down to rabao, talk to leo, get ur chainmail.
60-ninja tekko-> ifrits cualdron coffer, kill dark spark, and walla!

crap i missed a part on the ninja chainmail, after killing the sahagins, u need to fetch a kuftal coffer, for a key item, then Leodaron will give u the chainmail. ^^ ok there u go! fixed it.

What is the easiest mob in the grotto that will drop the coffer key? i got lucky and was able to get all my other coffer keys from xp parties, exxept Ifrit's Cauldron where a 75bst was kind enough to get me a key while he was hunting for haukutaku eyes.

Try pugils for keys. They are the highest lvl mob that drops, but i believe that they have a higher drop rate as well. I killed like 20 sahagin, then killed 1 pug and got the key. When helping someone else get key another time, we also got the drop from a pug.

Ninja AF Gloves are the same like all others! These Quest is the only Ninja AF that does NOT start in Norg - so the info from NickZivs is completly wrong.
This is the way to succsess:
1. talk to Guslam in Upper Jeuno, he gives you the Quest to open a Treasure Coffer in Ifrit's Cauldron. You find some rusty gloves there.
Kill Bees, Vulkanic Gas and Old Opo Opo's for the Key.
2. Go back to Guslam, he will tell you that he cannot repair the Gloves.
3. Go to the Tenshodo. There is a Mithra in the middle of the room, you have to bring her a box. The Box i located in Port Jeuno, right before the Duty free shop.
4. Go to that Box and a Cutscene will start. The man you see ist the Legendary Crafter who will repair the gloves, but he needs something from Castle Zvahl Bailys.
5. Go to Castle Zvahl Bailys, there you have to kill Dark Spark (NM Bomb around lvl 55-60). Its a triggered NM. After you trigger and kill him, touch the ??? again to obtain the key item.
6. Go Back to Port Jeuno where you saw the Legendary Craftsman and touch the ???. A Cutscene starts and he repairs the Gloves.
Obtained: Ninja Tekko

Someone had posted before saying that you had to go to guslam to get the ninja kyahan quest. So I was in fact totally right. When I said " this quest doesn't start from guslam" I meant the ninja kyahana quest which indeed starts from ryoma in norg. Here: Ninja Kyahan quests starts in norg, talk to ryoma and get a coffer key, open a coffer and you get your kyahan. Ninja Tekko: Talk to guslam, go open a coffer and get your old gauntlets... talk to guslam, talk to mithra in tenshodo, examine box near port jeuno auction house, Go kill dark spark in castle zvahl baileys, examine flame again, go back to port examine box and get your gloves.
I, Stephan(character on FFXI and lvl 53 NIN), hereby demote you from a lvl 75 NIN to a lvl 1 NIN. I state my reasons because you are 100% MISTAKEN on the lvl 60 NINJA AF. You DO NOT start the gloves from the person in Norg. Guslam(sp?) in Upper Jeuno starts EVERY JOB'S glove quest. You MUST complete your AF1(Katana's) and have STARTED your AF2(legs) inorder to start your Gloves. I finished my Legs and then went to Upper Jeuno to start my Gloves so i could then open the coffers for my other AF. Please change your NIN lvl in your Bio to reflex your demotion to lvl 1 ASAP. This is not a hoax, you are hereby ordered to hand in all your NIN AF and redo the quests to further your NIN training....I seriously think he's not lvl 75 cause i could make myself lvl 75 in each job if i wanted....I'll end it with that.

Does anybody know if the speed boost from these boots would stack with Flee, if you subbed Thf?

Well, two months later I can now wear the boots and I got my THF up to 25. No, they do NOT stack, contrary to what I'd been hearing. I raced another THF with Flee 3 times at night and we were dead even each race. ;_;

I know its a little late to bring this up as this is an old post... but I'm just now working on ninja as my 3rd job to 75... so just came across this post...
anyway... Flee is a job ability, and therefore will not stack with armor enhancements. However, say that a level 73 rng wore crimson cuisses (+12% movement speed), and strider boots (+12% movement speed), and lets say they were in bastok... wearing a rank 10 republic aketon (+12% movement speed while in Bastok) they would be moving really fast, as that would all stack if the conditions were met. As do refresh and regen bonuses on armors stack. But, to my understanding... Flee would be a +100% movement speed... and the most movement speed increases from armors is this AF for nin... at night... and a RNG wearing both strider and crimson cuisses... leaving them at a depressing +24% movement speed from 2 extremely rare armors.
**sigh** They should add +movement speed to limit points >=)

Most other jobs have a level 56 AF item. Does Ninja have a level 56 AF armor? If so, what is it and where can you find it?

I answered my own question. Yes there is a lvl 56 AF. It's AF Head Gear found in a coffer in the Boylanda Tree. I was in a party killing crabs and spiders when coffer key dropped and one of the party members told me to cast lot for it because my AF was in the Boylanda Tree. Got the coffer key, found the coffer chest, and got my AF Head Gear.
af gloves quest is the same (sort of) for every job no matter what lvl it is.. just the coffer is different but they all can get this quest once af2 is started

I heard after the coffer there's a fight with three NM Sahagin? Whm, Brd, and MNK.. also heard a rumour that you only have to kill 1 and can get the item from the ??? after the others have despawned. Any info or confirmation on this?

Hi I killed the NM for the chainmail last night and can confirm you only need to kill one of the 3 Nms :D party config was 51 Nin (me) 51 whm (gf) and 75 pld. I sneak popped the ??? and waited few seconds to find our which of the 3 was the bard, in the meantime the pld pulled the blue MNK lol crazy fight but enfeebles stuck so all good, fight lasted about 5 mins and by the time the MNK was dead the others had despawned, clicked the ??? and got the key item :D kuftal coffer and yay chainmail!
Did these boots after just simple coffer key and coffer, pld went off training about 3 at a time whilst i soloed crabs and sahgins, long fights but skill ups (yes please) and got the key within the hour. Pld searched for coffer for us and found it in the room behind the door just after the S bend bit with drop offs :D boots and chainmail in one night ^^

These boots can be gotten from a coffer in Serpents Grotto only after you have received the AF Gloves quest from Guslam in Upper Jeuno. The Coffer Key is dropped by basically any monster behind the door that is opened by inserting a Mythril Beastcoin.
