Does CHR affect wyvern's DMG? I heard this somewhere but I don't know if its ture. I rather sell thise piece if it does and wear Drachen hands or something :P. I don't really see much of a difference tho.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2005 at 5:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Charisma is for making spells and effects stick and determines the duration. It is on RDM AF gear to improve enfeebling. It also helps along with INT to make Shadowbind, Shadowstitch, and Bind hit, stick, and be as long as it is. And yes it is a modifier for WS, such as Dancing Edge. CHR is its main one along with STR. It also helps with INT to poisoning a mob when use Wasp Sting or Viperbite.

Square themselves said otherwise, I'm sorry.

Now now, let's use some common sence. Who from SE are they talking to in that interview? Check around that site, it has NO quality information. People have sent in emails asking who from SE participated in that interview with no reply. The interview is fake, I'm sorry.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 30 2005 at 5:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No, they didn't. They said it doesn't effect hate/enmity. Provoke is not hate/enmity. Provoke is tool used to spike enmity. They didn't not say that charisma doesn't effect the amount of enmity provoke spikes. They merely stated it does not directly add to your enmity.
Debatable

Why discuss CHR for PLD under this item... the item is clearly for DDs only, not PLD; I mean what sort of lvl70+ PLD would want negative fire (that would render a tank more vulnerable to gobs dropping their fire explosive bombs)? Not to mention extremely poor deffense. And I doubt atk+12 would help with the PLDs hate factor. Also to strengthen what most ppl have posted here; CHR does not affect provoke/hate. CHR affects ws and sc; where and how I'm uncertain.

Though I have a feeling CHR affects THF's use of daggers as some of dagger's ws add negative status ailments and also some of the dagger's ws secondary attributes add CHR%+. Perhaps CHR has a relationship with SATA, but this is an argumental assumption... I mean these tarasque mitts can be worn by a THF; there are many gear pieces with win/lose attributes as we all know (a hauby is a prime example). THF are known for poor attack and these may be good to improve their melee dmg though sacrificing their ws dmg... but then again I'm uncertain of a THF's attributes in natural CHR... as I said this is very argumentative and imho this discussion seems more in line with this item :D

Having looked at SE's interview and their answer concerning CHR, it seems CHR affects (not only weaponskills) but charming and singing in both offensively and deffensively... my instinct tells me (having linked it with dagger's ws of CHR%+ and added effects of enfeeblings) that CHR is a factor for enfeebling offensively and deffensively; that is probably why PLD have a natural high CHR. It makes sense for them to, not only have a stronger deffense physically but also be more resistant to enfeebling.

...lol, I apologise for all of this but I hope I'm making some sense :D

can you tell me why PLD actualy have a so high CHR if it's useless at voking ?

For the same reason Red Mage has +CHR on their AF. It's because (as Square states in the above interview) "There are also weapon skills that are greatly affected by Charisma"

I'm hardly an expert on this, and I'm not on either side of this arguement, but from what I've seen people say, CHR does not DIRECTLY affect enmity, but it does ENHANCE Provoke. Square didn't say in that interview anything to the contrary of that. While it doesn't affect enmity on all actions, like +Enmity equipment does, it enhances how effective Provoke is. I'm not saying that's a fact; I'm just saying that this is what people say. Personally, as a THF, I couldn't care less. :P For me, I know CHR only affects the damage of certain WSs of mine (Dancing Edge being one of them). And that would be why THF AF2 adds CHR. But I digress.

Ok #1 CHR does NOT affect hate. You my firend are the so called "newb" chr only effects a bst's effectiveness to charm mobs and a brd's song effectivness.

#2 You just got done saying why would yo jack out 800k+ to synth these. And THEN you say YOU synthed them with a HQ crystal JUST to have in your BAZZAR so you could say you made them ... NOT to sell them. I call that on Bullcrap.

pretty obvious this guy has no clue what he's talking about. CHR does affect hate quite a bit actually -_-
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 18 2004 at 12:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, higher CHR does seem to increase the effectiveness of Provoke...
