been trying to craft these to go with my new pole arm. currently i am 71 alchemy 13 smithing and 3 gold smithing. unfortunetly i have failed all 10 synths I've tried on these, also had image support. I'm thinking there must be a higher combination of smithing and/or gold smithing needed to craft these. on regular batterys i craft 99 every time w/o fail, no HQ result either. usually only being 5 levels from cap on a synth i can craft the item. there must be more to the requirements for this synth. If u got some info plz post, I'm tired of losing 11k or more a failed synth on these. i know thats not a terrible loss but it still hurts lol.

Think I got the answer to my own question. Mystery tour has a skill cap of 31 smithing and 16 goldsmithing to make MEGA baterys, not kilo. I would guess maybe 25 smithing and 10 goldsmithing for this synth? I'm thinking gold is needed due to the silver ingot. After i skill my gold and smithing up i'll try the synth again and post more info. hope this helps the crafters out there.
Kilo damage

Yes, while leveling Dragoon I had a spark lance and Kilo Batteries and Batteries synthed by some friends, and what I had experienced is that the Kilo Batteries average 40-60 damage and can go as low as 0 to as high as 100+. But they are very random some fights they'll trigger up to six or seven times while maybe you will go without one kicking in for 3.
All in all like Bluevyper said they are very well worth the gil, espicially if you can get someone high enough to craft them for you but just don't depend on having that additional damage done every hit.

I bought some Kilo-batteries and here is my experience with them.

Im using a spark rapier to attack with. The "additional effect" does not always work. Its similar to using something like a Flame Degan, where the fire damage doesnt always happen. Eeverytime the lightning damage is added on, you lose 1 battery.

Heres the good news: Each kilo-battery used does between 40 and 50 damage for me. I have not used a regular battery or a mega battery but im assuming e regular battery is 5-15 damage, and a mega battery is 85-100 damage. This is purely speculation though.

The original reason I bought the sword and batteries was to gain an edge on my L5 battle with Maat. After about 20 successful attacks on him, not 1 battery was used...
I think kilo- and mega-batteries are well worth the gil for the additional damage, just dont depend on them to work every time!
Smithing requirement

For a regular battery there is a Smithing requirement of 56. Do the higher level version require this as well despite it not being listed? Assume so but would like to make sure.

some weapons require you to equip the battery in the ammo slot to produce additional effects, in this case, lightning.
