Not sure that a shield made out of fish scales would be that great!
According to Clanwind.com/ffxi/fishing this can be caught in Qufim Islands (north) and Rolanberry Fields (lake). It is considered a big catch and the rods that are listed to be durable enough to never break are Composite and Lu Shang's. This doesn't mean other big fish rods won't work, they simply may not have been reported yet.

I love this sheild... I just wish it was blue :(

Agree to that i've got it today. It's a nice shield Though like already been said, it ain't blue when you wear it :(
Also this shield isn't blue...very disappointing. I've been using the Aspis up until 14 now I'm using this and will till I fight a bolt of lightning. :)

And definately a lot cheaper than buying a Mahogany shield for 5k at lv 20 for only 1 higher defense. Considering the cost of spells this is a good thing. :)

It's alot easier to buy one of these than an Elm Shield, just be careful you don't get struck by lightning.
