Gained from Quests:
I did my Maat fight a couple days ago (and won! 1/1). I used the wing right
after I entered.. so I had 0% TP. After using the wing, I checked, and had
120% TP... O_o
One would assume at first that the extra 20 mebbe came from the AF helm. But
I was wearing a Blink Band when I used the wing...
SO, the only other thing I can think of is Store TP.
Has anyone else seen this?
btw I'm planning to get on within 7 years so I'm not testing that therory.

False. You cannot use any medicated stuff but food you can like reraise or anything else. But you cannot stack Strenght potion and Icarus. 1 medicated Item only at once.
Potions and hi-potions are...um... potions? Whatever they are, they dont count as medicine.
Medice includes (I believe) things like Icarus wing, Hyper potion, Stat drinks like the VIT potion, and the bead candies. Theres probably more.
Anyways, medicine is simple an effect like food that prevents you from using multiple items together such as stat boosts, TP boost, Mega HP boosts and mega mp boosts repeatedly.
Now the Super ethers and potions use Dragon blood, and take forever to use (and you are disabled from performing an action for an obscene period of time) basically making them impracticle to use (hence the introduction of the new potions). But they will give you the same MP or HP boost, and not give you the medicine effect. Unfortunately, again alchemy gets rooked in the fact that, though overly expensive, you can buy your way out of food status by getting an antacid (20-40k to make) or if you are in jeuno, simply trading a gyshel green to a specific taru will remove it. While medicine status is there until it finally wears.
Personally, I have found, as a tank, keeping one or 2 hyper potions on me has saved my butt many times. If the whm runs out of mp, or if my shadows are down at just the wrong time, and I could see a hyper ether working in a similar way for a whm and or paladin. However, I haven't seen too many ppl use them in exp parties (I am lucky enough to be able to make them myself).
So, sorry for the rant, hope that helps ppl.
Daedalus was a legendary craftsman and inventor of ancient times. He was famed for his intelligence and ingenuity around the ancient world.
Daedalus had a son, Icarus. After telling his king's enemy the secret to escaping the winding labyrnith (Which he built) that held a powerful half-man half-bull Minotaur, the king banished Daedalus and Icarus to the labyrnith themselves. Daedalus, being the ingenous inventor he was, could not even escape the puzzling maze he made himself. He then fashioned two pairs of wings for his son and himself, to use to escape the labyrnith. This is where Daedalus Wing and Icarus Wing are derived from.

As Icarus was escaping the labyrinth, he decided to see exactly how high he could fly with his fancy wings. He got too close to the sun and the wax holding his wings together melted, sending Icarus plummeting to his untimely death.
Of course, this info has no bearing on FFXI or crafting. I find it interesting that they put wax in the ingredients, nice attention to detail.
The medicine effect lasts 2 hours, apparently, during which time you can't use any other form of medicine.
GalkaKnight gains 50 Exp
GalkaKnight waits 2 hours
After you use this, you get a status icon that says you are unable to take any more medication at the moment. This lasts for quite a few minutes. Pro-ethers I know have this same effect. However I don't know the duration of this status effect.
So when the comment says "repeated use is prohibited", that's a cutsey in-game sort of way of saying you cannot use more meds for awhile because of "muscle strain".

Just go around reading people's chat logs from their Maat fights... :P
there's one here: http://galeos.nu/heartflight/maatfight.gif
gives 100% tp
excellent for Samurai 2 hr, u can get 6 WS's off IF-u start w/ 100%+tp, use 2hr, after 3rd WS in chain-use Meditate, and use Icarus wing after 5th WS in the chain.
edit: note: this requires u to be a level 30+ Sam
