Is there any hidden effect on this? I see a lot of blms wear them, but the AF v1 hat offers one less int, no lost mnd, and 25mp. Other than the defense I really don't see a need to get this for my blm unless I'm missing something. Though that would lead me to believe that it should sell for a little more than 10k on Kujata. So, anyone know something I don't, and mind sharing it?

well, from what i can tell on hades is, its INT +5 and the helm only costs 30k on jeunos AH. relatively cheap for a decent item...plus it looks friggin awesome on tarutarus.

Hello! I'm a blm47, with sub and i got all i should get at this lvl (friend helped me with moldavite and shaman's cloak ^^ yay us! 1/2, and 1/1 respectively in ramuh) also i've started buying some 70's equipment, with what i have been saving, just in case they don't blow. The other day i bought this Dragon helm, and i felt stranged, it was just 15k, why is so cheap? the loss of mnd maybe? or is the lack of lots of jobs to use it? well i really like it, now i just need the black cloak (1.3mil >< cannot afford that) and errant body and legs, but i can wait on that body. Well i was just wondering, nice to see lot of ppl here ^^, ver merry late xmas XD seeyah!

btw, i'm in ramuh, feel free if u want to /tell something to Tarusofo (yeah i'm a taru how did u realise? XD)

, it was just 15k, why is so cheap?

For the same reason lots of other NQ stuff is: High-end crafters crank out a ton, trying to HQ it, then they need to get rid of all the NQ ones. My crafter friend (bone 100) made like 30 of these in one sitting, trying for a HQ. She gave away and vendored all the NQ ones. I got mine for free that way. :)
Eh? BRD/BLM wtf?
# Jun 26 2005 at 11:38 PM Rating: Decent
It's more like the ultimate BRD/BLM helm.

Eh? Uh why would a BRD be subbing BLM? lol With BRD/BLM you lose the added support of having cure as BRD/WHM does, which I know in several parties has helped out immensly.

Second, with BRD/BLM your nukes are only half powered. (Ya know, because your sub is only half your main.) So, this isn't really for BRD/BLM. I would seriously question the sanity of a BRD/BLM.

Um, I think they meant "it's the ultimate helm for Bards AND Black Mages, not Bards subbing Black Mage.

The / denotes a "either/or" in the normal world, outside of FFXI, not always referring to mainjob/subjob. :P

Actually if you read the post you'll see he said "and the +int is nice for your sub" ... meaning he did actually mean Bard would be subbing blm...

I personally think the Opo Crown is a better headpiece, but it'd be nice to wear while running through towns :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 27 2005 at 9:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well some ppl start with BLM and love BRD. Plus when you dont have a RDM in your party to help with nuking or in some cases when your main healer is RDM, its a lil nicer to have an extra sub nuker to get some debuffs, poisons, and nukes in. Plus a BRD could use the spell to increase their INT, plus eat something to make their BLM spells sometimes stronger or equal to the magic of other main job BLMs.

sorry but even a rdm/blm with the +INT song couldn't come close to matching a blm in terms of nuking power. a brd/blm would literally be the worst nuking in teh game, on par with any melee/blm. (imagine someone trying to argue that mnk/blm was a good idea.)

as far as brd/blm being good for debuffs... NO. brd has their own debuffs, and debuffs they get from only their sub most likely would NEVER stick since your skill would only half as high. also consider that blm have crappy enfeebling (it's their second lowest magic skill) so half that would be basically useless.

in a rdm + brd support setup, brd is the backup healer. taht's all there is to it. in fact in any support setup with a brd, brd is backup healer. it;s ok that they have low mp and low healing skill, b/c healing is softcapped anyway, and they only need enough mp for a couple emergency heals. plus brd/whm in general is a better backup healer than say blm/whm, since brd is much more likely to have a light staff, and is more likely to be standing up but not doing anything than a blm. (i know brd's are busy, but blms need to sit and rest if they aren't doing anything else).

anyway, this is still a great head peice for brd since singing skill is godly for them :)

I know it doesn't have very good stats for Samurai... but wouldn't it make sence for them to be able to wear this, as Samurai hunt demons?

Since it's a Demon Helm, it's wearable by the jobs that the Demons you can fight have: DRK, BRD, and BLM.

# Jan 09 2005 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent

How Much does this sell for in AH?
# Mar 22 2004 at 12:10 AM Rating: Decent
wow...level 91 lol.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 25 2004 at 9:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's more like the ultimate BRD/BLM helm. The 5 song skill? That seems pretty big. And the INT is a nice increase for your sub, BLM. Although, the Parrying skill was added for the Dark Knight. I guess it's good for either of them.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 25 2004 at 8:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this looks like a mask with purple colors and demon like eyes..
# Feb 25 2004 at 4:03 PM Rating: Default
Yeah that kinda sucks, but i guess its alright for a drk. I guess a brd might want this to even though there are much better for it.
Ultimate BLM/DRK helm?
# Feb 24 2004 at 10:37 PM Rating: Decent
It's just too bad though that BLM can't wear this if you have Black Cloak/Demon Cloak (BLM JSE).......

Well, it is level 73. By then you should be able to upgrade to an Igqira Weskit, and then you could wear this. Good way to complete the whole Devil Tribal Taru Hell-Child look. ;)
