killed it last night with my lvl55 ranger static, no drop though /cry
just got mine a few minutes ago^^ first time I've killed wyvernpoacher, 3rd time I've seen it. It took about 2 hours for it to pop with us killing the goblin shepards. I'm so happy^^ and wanna give a thanks to my ls for helping :]

I logged on late last night to switch ammo from a mule to myself when my LS mates hollared for me to get my butt to gustav quick. They claimed the gob and I wanted this xbow bad.
So I grabbed a choco and ran like the wind, Halfway out i realized that in my mass crafting i left my bow in my safe and had no ammo for my xbow on me at the time, but it was to late to turn back, so I just kept going.
My LS party that was killing him was lv 70s, rdm pld and whm, they were just kiting him till i got there and zoning to refresh MP. I got to the cave in record time, and made it to the zone point where they were kiting him and luckly the pally gave me his bow.
We fought for a while, just going slow, and when someone got low on HP and MP they zoned and the rdm kited him for a while till we restored. I died once in the carnage when everyone zoned and I was next on the hate list, but i got R3 and didnt loose any exp (thanks Izaacha) we then began the killing again. It was slow but we could see that we had the advantage by zoning and refreshing MP while he was kited. I did scavange and found what I needed to make a quick set of holy bolts and use my Xbow and do some real damage, and we finished him off soon after. Took 1 hour from claim to death, I timed it.
Lousy part is, NO OBOW DROP. With all that we went thru to keep him claimed, and keep him from restorying HP while we restored ours was at least worth this xbow. But we had fun and will go back and try again.

we killed it tonight with our lvl 59 exp party + a level 70 WHM. We couldn't have done it without the WHM. I think an alliance of 2 parties would have no trouble either. The bow dropped and we gave it to the ranger we had invited. I'd gotten one before from a really nice lvl 74 ninja who didnt need it.

Man I would Love to Have one Of these Just to have a Goal to hit 67 that and when i look at how much moeny i have to spend on ranger knowing this will make it all worth while :-D

Killed it the other night with a BLM 70, RNG 66 <me>, PLD 67. It popped as soon as we zoned. It has a 1-9 hour spawn time, and it is on lottery pop. It killed me after I hit Slug Shot and it Eagle Eye Shot me. I was able to get a Raise2 from a neighboring exp pty. I was able to get up and help take it down. The BLM killed it and I got the drop. Now, I need to get to lvl 67.

Yesterday I saw this guy twice while lvln in Gustav. The first time we were the only pt, so no way were we gonna try. High lvls came after 10mins and killed him. 2nd pop we formed an alliance with another pt there, mainly b/c we couldnt pull around him. He has a lot of hp, and very high evasion. The Brd did not give me hunters prelude until i had missed like 8 shots in a row. When she did it was pretty easy. Built up tp, Slugshot >> barrage >> eagle eye shot >> Slug shot! No O bow ; ; and I accidently dissolved the alliance b4 the rest of the pt could lot on the other stuff lol.

Hey All, im exp'ing where it spawns and another PT is right there with us and refuse to help. Just to spite us, they pulled it. Needless to say, they called for help and all died. Is the drop rate for the bow definate? It looks so awesome and would make any ranger a nasty nasty beast
Definite as in 100%, then no it's not. I've killed this in exp party in Gustav and helpin a ls RNG get the bow. The other times it was dumb luck to come across him in a ls alliance doing something else. 1/4 on the bow.
Being a 66 rng I want this xbow, so I got a few friends from my linkshell and some other people who wanted to skill up to come camp it with me. Killed placeholders for about 3-4 hours at the start of the second map around H-9, and never saw it spawn. There were two other parties xping there, so I could've missed it but I was checking widescan constantly and never saw it once.
Only 10k to 67 so I'm not going to level again until I get this xbow, which probably means I'll be forming a lot of skillup parties in the meantime. At least I'll max out my axe still while doing so, only 30 points to go...

sooo....anyone know the pop time on him? because it seems to be completely random.
I've camped him for 5 hours before (multiple times) and never seen him once. Yes, we killed placeholders. At multiple points, there wasn't a single goblin or crab alive.
I've watched him die, stayed for 1:45, and watched him pop again.
So the spawn window is at least 1:45-5 hours...but just what is it? I'm at 45 hours of being down in gustav tunnel trying to get him to drop his bow (no, I am not joking), i'm 0/8 on the drop, and it's driving me insane...the last 3 times i've gone down for 5+ hours, and he's never shown up.

Heh. My brother tanked Wyvernpoacher at 52NIN and killed him with the help of a 62BLM and 66RNG.
after fighting him for the 5th time, with the 5th different party, i finally got my xbow. granted, i had never actualy beaten him, we always escaped out, so the first 4 tries were draws^^

oh yea, 4 60s, a 59 and a 58. if the pld doesnt die on eagle eye shot u r home free. and its nice b/c every time i have fought him he uses it around 3/4 health. (roughly 1minute into the fight)

We killed the NM - Wyvernpoacher Drachlox - after getting about 8k exp off the Gobs (Alchemists / Sheperds / Mercenaries).
It popped - we charged our TP to 300% - our party was 58-59 (THF/RNG/WHM/BRD/MNK/PLD).
We used 2hrs on him, he dropped about 3 bombs (thank god for Barfira), I mugged him for 126 gil.
It dropped:
- goblin helm
- goblin armor
- gold beastcoin
- 2x fire crystal
- Othinus' Bow
I used my Sneak/Trick/Viper combo to finish him off, and our RNG lotted on it (everyone passed).

Party was lvl 58-59 it was a long tough battle. Took almost 30min pal/thf/rng/rdm/rdm/whm
We ran out of mp at least 4times and all 2-hrd. We had to cast gravity and kite him while we rest. Rng would Shadowbind when Pal lost agro. It was a huge rush. I would recommend a lvl 60pt but if you're HNM skills r up you can do it at 58.

we got this today while lvling in gustav tunnel. it was our static 7 man party.. yes i said 7. all lvl 57-58. NIN/WAR, RNG/NIN, THF/NIN, DRK/WAR, BRD/WHM, WHM/BLM, RDM/BLM. it was farely easy considering we had a nin tank. me, the rdm, and rng used our 2 hours on it. just sharing my own little story.

We beat Wyvernpoacher Drachlox as a party of 6, lvl 60-61. (Pld, thf, mnk, rdm, whm, blm...classic ff1 if you could have 6 in a party) Got the bow, but weren't even trying for it, just wanted to see if we could take him. And I feel bad, because I almost saved our pld, and if I'd used Chainspell, would've been no deaths. As it was 3 died, and I had 14hp left when he bit it. We invited a rng who was there and let him lot for it.
...now that I see he's lvl 70-75 we probably shouldn't have tried. Congrats to Mirojiro though for a stunning job of...stunning. :)

I got this last night, we had aliance of 18 people. A lot more than needed. I got lucky and won the lot outta 18 people. I was so happy \(^o^)/ Now it gives me reason for my rng to be the next to be lvled to 70+
