This isnt really "amazing" for rdm/nin in ballista, lol, acctually its not very good for rdm at all unless your farming a low level mob where you can just keep your hp low and stoneskin up, it might speed the process up. As a rdm soloing you want to have max hp the entire time, stoneskin up along with haste, protect, shell, enXXXX etc. So you wont find yourself with low hp very often, hopefully. Although I own this, Only because It looks Like plate mail and I like plate mail ^_^) and I have it macroed so if I get aggro It auto-equips in party.
This set's latent effect kicks in when HP is low. Glove kicks in at yellow(around 70%) HP Helm kicks in at orange (around 49%) HP Armor kicks in at red (around 29%) HP
I put quit some trouble into finding this out lol.
its actually a lot better than it looks.....i saw someone wearing it a couple days ago its def. is 44 and as a latent effect yeah it throws on another 44def for you
Level 30 Items (i.e. BCNM 30 earrings etc.) -Latent effect is triggered by Current Subjob - Example: ???/Nin will trigger "Latent Effect: +4 AGI"
Level 50+ Items: (i.e. Job Rings, etc.) -Latent Effect is triggered by HP. -If HP goes into "Yellow" or below that certain %, then the effect is triggered. -Example: Tracker's Ring Latent Effect "Enmity -2" Will be triggered once HP is below a certain percent or in "yellow".
I got this full set last night and immediately went out soloing DC's as rdm/nin.
First off - it really isn't that great. They offer the exact same amount of def as rdm AF under normal circumstances. The hands are definately cool for rdm since the latent on them kicks in the same time as my Fencer's Ring. And I didn't know this until I tried it out, but the hat kicks in at 50%, but not too useful as I'd rather have the Fastcast from AF. And the body isn't too hot either since it only kicks in at like 25% and if your ever this low then your probably doing something wrong. Plus AF body has spell interuption on it. Some people above stated they might want this for Converting. Wouldn't you rather have all of the +MP from the AF pieces for Converting than more Defense? I know I would.
So I think I am going to sell back the body and head pieces and just keep the gloves.
I like to take damage until I'm in yellow, and THEN put up stoneskin so that I can get the +5 enspell damage from Fencer's Ring. Since I'm in yellow anyways, the gloves should come in handy. But not all that great either. I lose +10 parry from AF and when subbing /nin, that comes in very handy also. So all in all, I give this a 'meh' for any rdm's out there. It all comes as a tradeoff.
