Heres what I got

This is what my results have been and think I got fire ores down to a predictable state now. I used Porcilen pots. I always used the full set of mining/gardening/harvesting gear. I always checked my plants on watersday, never ever once did I check on firesday (every plant I checked on thier day never once gave me an ore.) I feed my plants fire crystals both times. At harvest time, I waited till new moon 0% or as close as possible to it on firesday. I waited all day on firesday not entering it all day till time was 12:01 game time, and then enterd, and checked and harvested my plants all right in a row. 66% fireores and 33% cinnimon. So far it isnt huge cash, 130k an ore now on my server but something none the less. I posted this here because I see alot of misleading info on this subject. I just dont really care if people know this, I can make 250k in a day easy with my two accounts and crafting. But have at it, hope this helps someone.

Hello !
I'm very new to this and i'm at the point where My Tree Saplings are Sparkly and it says they're ready to be picked..

My only Question is What do i do now?

do i feed it Crystal? or let it die then feed crytal?

i would really like it if you should help me out ^^

# Feb 17 2006 at 3:09 PM Rating: Decent
lol if moggle says they are ready to be picked, just harvest em! I think you would get a better harvest result if you harvest during full moon. About letting them die, DON'T DO THAT! You'll lose all!!
good harvest

from 4 plants i harvested 41 sticks of cininnomin 3 ice clusters and 2 fire ores. Although it might be a bad harvest in most eyes, the 2 ores netted me 1.2 million gil combined on asura.

yes. fire ore do you need it 600k

ok i heard from a friend this is VERY profitable. but he wasnt sure if you wore the harvesting gear when you harvested if it would make a difference would it? also he said check like twice every real day once on firesday n feed it fire crystals. Also he said in his MH alone he has like 4 maple tabels with porc. pots goin all makin fire ore so do u really need mules for this?

Brass pots are associated with fire, are they not? Why use Porcelain pots (which are supposedly related to wind) over Brass? Specifically I am asking Ariah, if she is still involved with gardening. I would love to know what you think about this.
Easy

I have 10 plants on each of my 4 mules, so i pretty much harvest every week. The recipe mentioned is correct, i average 3/10 and my highest was just my last harvest of 6/10 dont ask because i dont know how that happened.

Good Luck

Hey gardening friends. I hope all is well. I finally got around to creating macromedia flash files of the main glowrates that I have mentioned before. Feel free to check them out. I hate it when those guys on ebay/etc try to sell what should be free because it's just a game and it should be fun hehe.

here it is atwww.ariah.curiouss.com

Happy gardening

Tree Cuttings = Saplings
# Feb 15 2005 at 1:51 PM Rating: Default
Hey just wanted to let you guys know that you don't have to actually buy the Saplings that create the ores. I don't want to make my farming spot hot but I don't want to be a jerk either so here goes... If you farm Goobues (I don't know what else drops cuttings or what drops saplings) they drop Tree Cuttings. If you grow the cuttings and DON'T GIVE THEM ANY CRYSTALS but examine them every day then they (after asking for crystals twice) will harvest ->> 1-2 saplings. Admittedly this takes twice as long to get the ores but if you are patient, not in a hurry, & want 100% profit then you can do this w/o ever buying the saplings. Just uhhh.. if you see me farming Goobues on Alexander gimme some space ok >< hope this helps all.

Here is a cut and paste of mine from another post:

Great discoveries guys. What Heziki has run into is an actual fire ore recipe that works at almost all times. What you will realize is that he only succeded (1 ore) because he harvested on the correct elemental day that accented the current level of fire strenth that he had created with that combination of crystals. It really does depend on what day he fed which crystal if you are going for more than 3 ores out of 10 pots. To break 3 the moon must be strong but it seems that a full moon doesn't always make it perfect.

here's a cool example:

p dark
f1 f on f
f2 f on f
h on d fm 98%
= 0-6 f ores

but p on dark
f1 f on i
f2 f on f
h on d fm98%
= 0 - 1 ores

but what makes sense from learning about the second experiment is that experiment 2 (which was actually an expirement of 70 pots) needed more f energy.

so:
p on dark
f1 f on i
f2 f on f
h on F any moon
= 1-4 ores

This seems to be supported with each harvest. Lesson Learned: Don't accidentally feed on the wrong day. Another lesson learned (not to do with the above). Don't start a new growth period immediately after you harvest unless you aren't going for hq items like ores.
soil quality?

Hey guys for some reason my highest yield from a previous harvest is consistently my lowest yield in the following harvest. This mimics real life as the soil needs some "downtime" (crop rotation) to gain its nutrients. This may also be a really stupid coincidence but it's happened on my highest yield mule every harvest so far. Highest = anything that yields 4 or more ores. The failure on this mule results sometimes in 0/10 pots with ores.

Hey guys,

My name's Ariah and I live in Vancouver, BC. Anyways I just wanted to tell you that there is a way to get more than 2 per harvest. Keep trying and look at a ffxi timer to try and time your harvest for a full moon.

Furniture is the key.

22 maple tables or go for oak if you have the money = +176 or +200 gardening enhancement. Always always time it for about 21 days and start earlier rather than later because your furniture is the buffer.

There are some secrets to do with something called "glowrates" that I will teach you guys sometime (after I quit the game for good). I also have a huge excel file of 40 of my most recent ore attempts.

yes it's a h on darksday for many ores.

Fire Ore Growing.....
# Dec 15 2004 at 4:41 PM Rating: Excellent
Hey all. Davidge here ( RDM53 ) Sylph sever. Here is my experience with the ore growing... I was told by a number of poeple that the base element for seeds is dark.... so with this in mind....
Planted 4 tree saplings on darksday
Checked on them once a day ( elemental day does not matter.)
First feeding time... skip it.
Second feeding fed fire crystal on firesday
Check everyday ( only once a RT day )
Havested on firesday...

Results from all 4 plants...

2 fire ore
12 mythril leaves
11 mythril leaves

Now I harvested all my stuff so no out of pocket gil expenses... total net profit of over 4000k !!!

Not too shabby if I do say so myself...

Good luck growing

This is to all those "idiots" who like to call EVERYONE else "idiots".
Stop being selfish, the only reason why you give a rats **** about what's being said you have stated yourself and only proves to me and others more so that you do not deserve what you probably have.

People can share all the info they wish and it makes the world go round, unlike you monopolizing gooberz.

*Oh Noes! Stop the Sharing of OUR SEKRETZ!!! !1

Seriously, that is so self centered.

Well HERE IS MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

Planted: Tree Saplings
Days: ANY!
Crystals USED: Light / Fire
Pots: Porcelain
Harvest Day: ANY!

Yielded TWO Fire Ores in ONE Harvest, out of 10 Plants. It is profitable to a degree and does require a lot of time to do, but if you are serious about the results it will come.

Hope this helps throw down some monopolies.

SHARE SHARE SHARE!!

Who wants some Gil?

Peace all (even to the gooberz)

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 23 2004 at 6:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have 16 characters i harvest a dfferent kind of ore every 2 days, i would really appreciate it if people would stop giving out recipes for this, its ruining the prices on my server, and killing my profits.

I planted 8 saplings in brass pots on firesday and fed fire crystals on fireday
Out of it i got 7 ice clusters,7 stacks of cinnimon and 2 fire ore.
Not too bad.I figure i just doubled my money so i cant complain.
unfortunatly the price of fire ore in Ifirit is only 100k but mabey it will eventually go up:)

I just made one of these, and honestly, I don't think I'll bother with it again.

I bought 4 tree saplings for 8k each, 4 pots for 1k each, and a stack of fire crystals for 4k. So the total cost wasn't too bad, only 40k. The problem is, I was doing this under the assumption that *all* of the saplings would give me an ore, so long as I did everything right.

Anyway, I made sure to plant them on Firesday, feed them both crystals on Firesday, examine them every (earth) day, and when the time came, harvest them on Firesday. In the end, one of the plants gave me a Fire Ore, and the other three all gave me cinnamon. =/

Now, the one Fire Ore *would* have been nice, but during the time I was growing mine, some ******* decided to make a freaking TON of them and sell them all at 100k so he'd make fast money (which is stupid, because when I was checking the prices and sell rates of all the elemental ores, Fire Ore was going for 160k and selling constantly -- both of us could have made more money if he hadn't been so impatient).

So I sold my precious Fire Ore for 100k, netting me about 60k in profit. Now while 60k is nice in general, it's totally not worth 22 days of gardening. I could farm that much in a day if I tried, or just do one successful BCNM. Also, I noticed that by keeping my plants healthy, my normal money-making was severely hindered. I'd have to warp back to town from my farming spots just to check my plants each day. This sucks because often during the week when I don't have much time to play, I'll just stay in a farming area and log in to farm a bit, and then log out and repeat the next day. Couldn't do that with these damn plants to take care of. So if you factor in my opportunity cost, my net profit was a lot lower, perhaps even negative.

Oh well, maybe this is a good idea if you have a hard time making money otherwise. I suppose this could be good for low level characters, but even then, you'd be risking your initial investment (thinking back to when I was level 20, I would *not* want to put 40k on the line). I'm not trying to discourage people from growing elemental ore, I'm just saying that it's really not this amazing way of getting tons of easy money that some people make it out to be.

Try using a mule with 10 pots, you won't have to warp back all the time to check. Your mule is always in his/her mog house!

Gardening guild!
here is what you need....

For a Fire Ore:
Porcelin Pot x1 + Tree Sappling x1 + Fire Crystals x2 + Good Luck x10 = Fire Ore x1

Plant on Darksday, Feed and Harvest on Fireday.

there you go, just use different element crystals for the desired outcome.... =Þ

*Note: Good Luck can be difficult to obtain and they don't drop from any Monster family currently known.
