I like this Tunic mainly because it covers most of the elements and gives you a little better defense then alot of other tunics. And for the most important reason of all......it's not expensive to buy.
this tunic is good for all the ele def but the bad thing about it and most of them is that u cant equip head gear which is a bad thing cuz u lose some def and u need all the def u can get with ur armour
I dont like tunics, they are uncool, and the fact that you cannot equip headgear is the main reason i dislike these. I have headgear with more defense, and a scarlet ribbon with the same ele def, I just switch depending on the situation
Elemental defense is not insignificant. It isn't something one should go after first when choosing equipment, but even a low buff to elemental defense can help with resists to status ailments and damage spells.
I agree. Condsider the damage that can be done to a party from Goblin's Bomb Toss. That is fire element and anyone with high fire defence is going to be left noticably less damaged.
Like most things, it should be weighed up whether the oppotunity cost is worth it. I.E. is the loss in one area more than made up for in the gain in the other.
Well I dunno if someone already posted about the first few posts about this item, but I'm gonna say it anyway. This item does NOT enhance your magic ability, it simply enhances your defense against those certain magic elements.
Considering that Bar____ gives you 50% elemental def against that specific element and rarely do you fight multi-element creatures the elemental buffs here are relatively useless as def. However, if they effect elemental attack as well they might be more useful. So instead of doing 1000 damage with a freeze MB grab this and the Faerie Shield and you'd do 1050. Seems a little insignificant still, but might save you in the long run.
which element protects u against sleep. Cuz as anyone who has partied in Yuhtung Jungle (or whatever that jungle is in khazam) it sux being put to sleep by madragoras. So having this and faerie shield protect u from that would be worth carrying at least while u pty, in that area
untrue. sleep depends on what base the sleep is. for instance you get both light and dark magic sleeps and this has been proven with blue mage. However all its gonna do is give u that little bit of less of a timer and i promise u now at the lvl u fight mandys u aint gonna resist there sleep without the resist sleep trait. SO have fun.

Like one of the other posters here... I was willing to sacrifice some defence and mana from my current armor, but for a different reason beyond looks...to get the benefits of this tunic.
Unfortunately, this information above doesn't include the fact that the tunic does not allow you to wear head gear...
This unmentioned detail made it so I could not wear my Scarlet Ribbon...which gives the same resists as the tunic.
So, just so others know...this does not allow you to wear head gear with it.
Now I have to try and resell this tunic for 14k that I bought it for on Midgard.

Luckily I got this last night from AH in Rulude Garden (Jeuno) for 9k, I asked my friend to buy it for me, plus I got stoneskin scroll from there for 8200, which usually sells in AH for 9k. Last nite was my lucky nite ^^
So you blindly bought the tunic, despite a) the in-game description says you can't wear headgear and b) NONE of the tunics (that I've ever seen, anyway) let you wear headgear? Good call.
Oh come on, it's easy to miss a line in a description from time to time. Flaming someone who mistakenly bought something without realising a certain restriction, who then takes the time to post the info so that others might avoid that mistake? Good call, "Anonymous".
It would have been more valid were it not written as a cheap shot. True perhaps, but no excuse for a sarcastic flame. It's just uncalled for - there are more civilised ways to say such things.
And I've seen "By level x you should know fact y" lots of times. I don't know why people get this notion that just because they know something, everyone else should know it too...

yes they do. If you're a level 27 black mage you should know by now and gone through several tunics if you know what you're doing. Tunics don't allow headgear. I've never played a mage past level 7 and that was whm, and I know that. If you don't know it, it's called "Being dense" and it's your problem, not anyone else's. =P
If you like the bonuses, save up for a Scarlet Ribbon, which is headgear that gives the same elemental resists, just no defense bonus. Orrr, you could spring for a Noble's Ribbon, which gives a bit more resistance along with CHR+3.
If you think about it, wearing the ribbon and regular body armour is almost like wearing the tunic, except you can show off your pretty face. =)
