I remember the day when balance rings +1 came out.. for the first few weeks only a couple were ever sold, and they were selling for about 75k. i had about 3-4 months into the game and immediately stopped lvling, saved up some gil, found the goldsmith who'd made the only ones, and begged politely for him to make me a pair. (to this day we still talk when we can understand each other w). I'm sure most of our non english speaking fellow adventurers who had the game for a year before us respect that people of dedication are people of dedication no matter what language they speak or don't speak... Ok, now to the real point: Anyone who's ever been left standing with 1 HP can appreciate the value of 1 DEF, this would apply to the grace +1 too and the added DEF for most jobs that use it will probably be justified in the long run just for less downtime soloing. On the other hand, If you're not an obsessive no life gamer with more time on their hands then anyone should have no one will fault you for showing up with even the plain old flourite ring. This is a "Showpiece", one of those things you buy when you have no other pressing gil needs and one happens to be available. On a last note, I've noticed some goldsmithers getting 3-4 grace rings in a row sometimes, it gives them something personal to look forward to, that one in a X% chance of making something very, very few other people have.
Grace Ring+1 along with all of the other +1 versions of the HQ stat boosting rings are silly. They cost roughly 200k more than the plain HQ and for what? 3 def? ><
