0/1 on this thingy
the last word on this..
# Jul 21 2006 at 10:04 PM Rating: Default
..it's pronounced "banyo". SE just didn't implement the "n" character with the squiggly over it.

http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=17981&sid=8

the katakana for it in japanese reads "banyo de soru".
This Dagger is Fun.

I like having any excuse to use this dagger.

Since slimes are resistant to daggers... this sort of makes up for it. The additional light damage is 100% so it's like having another hit. I hit for... 20-30 and the additional effect does about 20-30. :D
real meaning
# Feb 20 2006 at 7:23 PM Rating: Good
sun shower is the correct meaning

baño = shower
del = of
sol = sun

SE couldnt put an ñ in there because that word doesnt exist in the english vocabulary.. but thats what they where trying to say.

btw i want this dagger ;_;

Giving +dark element means that it adds RESISTENCE to that element. so it is light elemental.. like its +damage effect.
This weapon is messed up.

A dagger, that gives +dark and does light damage to slimes, which are stong vs piercing; that is dropped by a plant that lives in the depths of a tunnel and uses photosynthesis there. We can't even determine if the thing is bano or baño, which would make Sunbather into Sunbane. Give us a screenshot, end the argument, and then leave this thing in the dark.

Erm, slimes are weak to piercing not strong to it. Why do you think Drgs always do royal jelly?

Dragoons do Royal Jelly a hell of a lot because the Jellies are resistant to all types of melee damage, but what differs us from other melees is that we have a pet Wyvern that spews Breaths at the jellies, and the Breaths aren't reduced in anyway.

Slimes have a 25% resistance to piercing and slashing weapons, and 50% resistant to blunt/H2H <.<;

Actually, slimes just have a physical damage taken -% to all physical attacks. How much they have depends on their level, and if it's a NM or not. They do have VERY low HP for monsters though. Only about as much HP as us players. They however take 1.5 times magic damage. This is a very nice weapon for anyone that wants to get a jelly ring, though.

Most slimes seem to be 70 or 80% off of all physical attacks. Go kill level 8 slimes in zerhun. They'll still take only about a 4th of what other monsters that level take.

In my experience, the more specific the add effect, the more often it attacks.

Add effect Light damage would go off about 1/20 hits.
Add effect Beasts: light damage would go off every 2-3 attacks.
Add effect Tigers: Light damage for example, or slimes on this dagger, because they're so specific, go off all the time.

Some exceptions, of course, like kabraken's axe, and the KSNM 99 weapons, which go off a lot anyway. But this is a very good dagger, because of it's specificity.

Well, assuming it is intended to be "Bath of the Sun" then I'd assume Sunbathing would do a lot of damage to slimes, since they are made up of water and a nice sunbath would evaporate them =P.

I'd think it'd be better to translate this as "Sunbather".

Actually this item doesn't neccesarily mean "Sunbath" there is no ~ over the n, which means that this is "The Bane (or Banisher) of the Sun," which would expalin the +10 to darkness. I could be wrong, my Spanish is a bit rusty, but I'm pretty sure this is what it means.

would this dagger be good for main or offhand?

I really know nothing about daggers but want to get one for my brother ^^

on to the word:

as far as I know there is no such thing as bano in spanish, and bane would be perdicion.

its baño like in bath and not bathroom.

I kinda laugh at this, it's like people only add "o" at the end of english words in hopes that they turn out in spanish.

understando whato I meano?

I'm thinking "bano" is a derivative from the English "bane," so the Bano del Sol would be the Sun's Bane. Something that the sun doesn't like very much. /shrug

Its baño del sol, before a update on january or febrary, u cant write the ñ letter on the game :P
Im from spain and it sucks when was trying to type españa and only was writing espa a, and the names of the players and NPC all r with standard english letters, then bano is baño, what means bath :P ^^

Well it gives does Light damage (the sun) to slime (bathroom?)
Does this name mean...
# May 01 2004 at 9:32 PM Rating: Decent
Well, if it had an N with the wiggly thing over it, it'd de Spanish for "Basin/Bathroom from the sun". Anyone know the intended meaning?
