keep one for myself and we sold the other one for 65 million, got 32.5 each :o

Yeah, the guy is surely not lying, 2/5 is possible. It makes me sick to see a such a large gap in drops. It seems like most people get it either before 20 or almost 100 kills. 0/41 so far, plan to be there for awhile. Funny how most people that post here got it very easily, like a lot of 1/1's and low things like that. I know two people on my server, one that got it 2/11, and another 3/5. That's just sick. I consider the 3/5 guy one of the luckiest guys in FF. He got all of them within the same week or two. Before that I remember seeing him walking around in pretty poor gear but now he's crazy. One thing I don't like about the people that get easy drops like that is their persistance to be like "Yeah I'm going to get anothr one, or few." Annoys me a little bit, especially when those are the very people that give up on their goal the fastest.

Actually Owner is seriously telling the truth. After he got his first drop he was so pumped he got another... then another, i just want him to get me one =) PLEASE >.>. BTW Owner we need to camp some Enkelados and Ogygos!

This is non-sense, I've been camping Sozu on and off for over a month. Tonight I happened to be very, very lucky and get my drop after going 0/10. But I know people that are 0/100-200+ on this guy. If what you say is true, you just happened to get extremely lucky like myself. Theres an average of 1 dropped on my server(sylph) every month, and theres is never nobody there.
Edit: By the way, to all you wondering if its worth it... Hell yea it is, I dunno who said its only a 3% drop rate increase, but just from an hour of farming after I got it on a 50% moon phase. Theres no way thats true... drop city baby! ^^

I've just started camping him...there are a lot of THFs and Gilsellers on my server and they all crowd the room with their parties ; ; I got lucky my day and found it was relatively quiet and went 0/1 =\

i went 1/12 the first time, camped it on a 90% moon phanse (doesnt really care about moon, thats just happened to be what it was at when i was camping it. Im all alone with no RMTs or non THFs in the area. I pop and claim it after 2 hours, its a hectic battle with Sozu getting too many lucky shots in while my blink was down, he ends up *doinking* me and im forced to use my 2H to survive, after leeching back 50% of my HP i finish em off and wouldnt ya know i get the dagger (+mugwarts, a lanturn, and cloak)
I ended up getting hacked about 4 months later (to this day i dunno how it happened, im on PS2)
and the very first thing i did once the GMs restored my account was go back to camping em. i was there for about 1 hour with my RDM freind and we pop em, we begin to kill it easily and i got a tell from a nearby THF helping with White steel/RDM test asked to join in for the kill, at first i didnt think i should (after getting hacked i lost all trust in people) but when he said he also had TH3 i changed my mind. Sure enough we end up killing him and again it dropped,2/13(it also happened to be 100% moon, he ended up getting last hit but i dont take that into consideration either)
So thats my story, as fast as the FFXI gods took my first THF knife away, they gifted me with another. I know everyone wants this knife for the TH +1 but i was wondering, is the damage any good for a knife of that level? My THF is only 26 but I'm probobly gonna make it my main after getting a few merits with RDM so I was curious.

Yes. The damage on this knife is not bad at all. You could use this as your main weapon and do well. I suggest you do so but only during NM and HNM fights.

2) After that its been 0/37 so far fighting between Gilfarmers, Whm/war, and nin over this damn thing and its not even for me! ><
3) My whole world now consists of a small inclosed room where, I swear to God, hear the "wowowo" the tonberries make every few seconds.
This knife is best left as a fantasy, the benefits it gives no where near compares to the hell it will give you ><

SE seriously needs to EX this thing, along with other highly prized drops. Maybe add an uncapped KS to get it as well? idk.

My friend Scwall and I camped Sozu Rogberry for about a week, with the help of some LS members occassionally. Thanks Calbrone, Kasuke, Godpoing, and Deathdealer for helping along the way.
Early early July 28th at around 5:30 am PST..It was just Scwall and I left...had stayed up all night killing place holders..After about 9~10 hours...We claimed him for our third time and began work. JP and Gil seller parties both counter camping in the room ~ somehow we got claim. Always nice to see, "Dowzer uses Provoke on the Sozu Rogberry." Me being a DRK73 with WAR sub and my friend Scwall THF75 with WAR sub. As the fight started I pulled hate and got hit with a throat stab. Try to turn him against the wall, so you have space to run. So I used Bloodweapon to get HP and TP, got massive hate in return so I gave it a Souleater Guillotine and died..That left Sozu at around ~50%hp. Scwall finished him off with Bloody and Sleep Bolts..Using Perfect Dodge at the same time as Sozu. Easy for a THF to solo, just bring some evasion gear and sleep bolts.
This was the result....

We're on Quetz Server...We'll be keeping this knife, despite the 30-40mil worth. It will hopefully help our linkshell with Sky NMs, Dynamis, and land HNMs.

Anyone know the window for this NM?
I got this knife yesterday. I have over 1200 kills of a certain mob logged in connection witih day and moon phase, and all drops recorded. I plan to do the same now that I have the Thief's Knife, and compare the results. Might take a few months, but I'll post back when I have the results.

Anyone who would pay any more then 30mil for this thing is a damn fool. It only gives like 3% better chance for drops. Which means if bought it for 70mil you would have to farm 7,000 extra tree cuttins (if thats what you farm) to make it pay for itself). May not seem like much but if your a thf and on a good run you will get a max of 8 cuttings and hour normally (good run meaning no other farmers and some good drops). Now at that rate of 8/hr you will have to farm 875hrs to get this. Hmm worth it? I dont think so. I hate greedy gil sellers that knock this price up. Boycott them for all of us non-gilbuyer/sells sake.

Its for more then just money stuff, our LS has one on our thf that we all chipped in to camp/buy and we use it on god runs, HNMs, etc. And quite frankly Im glad our thf does have one, cause i dont like the feeling of killing Nidhogg and wondering, "Hey if we had a thf knife would we have gotten more/better abjuration's."
So yeah it was and STILL is worth it, not just for his "farming" but for my Koenig gear, Hectomb Gear, Adaman gear, and everyone elses gear.

Yes, me and 2 LS thief did a study over 3 weeks with this knife. All on same moon phase each farm. You sound like one of those greedy people trying to sell if for way more then its worth. Dont get mad b/c people arent going to pay 2-3x its actual worth.

Well was campign this guy tonight, was there for about 3-4 hours. I didnt kill place holders cause there was a 75 smn doing that, and killing everything around the room. ok lol, this story is kinda funny, me (60rng) and pld75, where camping him, and a thief but he wasnt with us. We are waiting for it to pop, 10min before we decide to leave, the thief leaves. I decide that if we are leaving i might as well skill up crossbow a little (lol), i pull a temple bee, and pld tanks it, at like orenge HP for the pld, and half MP, 3 *** lvl 75s jump into the room. We keep fighting, and BOOM, Rogberry pops behind me in that small room, BEFORE the 75s could claim it, i change target and shadowbind it (lol slow high lvls...). The pld gets to red, and cant tank so uses 2hr, i kill the bee. But, pld runs out of mp and dies :( I die shortly after that, 75s claim it.
Me @lvl 68thf/war and a 70Nin took this guy down. And got the knife ^^. 20 Million here I come.

ppl getting annoyed by other jobs camping the knife should chill.. yes its called a thf's knife and its best for thfs, but maybe some thfs dont want to camp this pain in the *** mob and would rather buy it. so quit saying hateful things about others jobs camping the nm.

This is not a quested item such as the items you mentioned in your post so your argument is irrational. Camping an NM and doing a quest are two very different things. Several people can do quests at the same time and the reward is guaranteed. The point is that the majority or the ppl who camp this item do not need it and will never use it. In all honesty, I think its fair to request that this item be /EX'd.

umm...is it just me or is shizznight a brain dead noob? b/c since the quest which he says can be done by alot of ppl at the same time, in fact CANNOT be done by alot of ppl at the same time, since there are 3 NMS always camped, 1 is camped 24/7 deadly dodo, the other has a terrible drop rate Nue (1/23) and the last 1 Morbolger, is a 24hr mob, and about 13-15 ppl show up to camp it EVERY time, so the only irrational person is the nub named "Shizznight"
SE needs to make this knife rare/ex.

THF's can't camp this NM you have more of a chance for it to drop as a different job than THF hunting it now lol

dumbest thing you've ever heard? haha it's true ask a few thf's that have tried their luck at it. dumbest thing? did it even occur to you that this is something that SE would definately throw in? come one dude use some Common sense instead of being ignorant and shoot something down like that before you can actually prove that it's wrong. when i test things i test them . i actually try to prove these theories wrong. this one however is 100% true unless 10 thf's that i have interviewed about this are 10 thf's with bad luck. most of them killed 70+ times before they got the drop. lol some times i ask myself why people even bother to put up offending messages like that...

he could potentially be right but please note that THI and THII don't stack SE has said this before. Also you dont gain the ability of TH +1 until you equip the dagger also it doesn't matter if it is a THF type mob that doesn't mean he is wielding it.

Just a silly reply, and one I noted due to my long and boring fights with Sozu but....if you actually look at the NM while you are fighting it, he is always equipped with a thief knife lol. You just gotta find the Sozu who's knife doesn't fade away with him ~_~

what makes you say that? from what fact? i am currently 2/17 on the knife, and both times that i got drop was from a friend /w TH3. both of us were thfs and seem to have no problem. the drop rate on NMs are pretty much random, it's all on luck
