kk, Honestly, just so no one begins spreadin around false word like "ZOMG it onry ENHANCES the Trait, it doesnt GIVE The Trait," I'm just gonna flat out say...

Items like this DO GIVE the Trait that is being "Enhanced!" <.<

Now, back on to what I was gonna originally post :o

Gonna give this Earrin a try out with my Brd; Was originally usin a Musical Earrin, which while is Amazin for Debuffs, but really aint all that good for other actions on Brd : / (Evasion +5 is not gonna help THAT much either, remember Brds evade like a Brick Wall; even with 4/4 Evasion merits, they only then evade like a Barn Wall...)

So Imma hopin that I could hopefully resists (Or even partially resist) some o' those annoyin Status effects like Stun while castin a Buff (Weapons can really **** a Brd off with their AoE Stun >.<)

Just too bad there really arent all too many great Earrings for Brd out there in an Idle Macro, hope this works at least somewhat well >.<

I have one, and when fighting weapons or any mob that stunds, this earring seems to enhance neg status on me [74 pld]. I take it off and the stunds are around 2-4 sec. with it on, 2-6 maybe 7. THIS EARRING SUCKS, until they tweek it, my mule will hold it. Tryed it on bosses in sky, bind city.

don't own one but curious if the
'resist stun' would kick in while fighting
bannacon? or something.
RE: hmmm
# Feb 01 2006 at 4:56 AM Rating: Decent
like it says it resits, doesn't make you stun proof, it gives you added resitance to stun, bind and gravity.
um.. wrong sorry

You don't have to have the actual job traits to use this earring effectively. You automatically have a certain resistance to status effects, and this earring increases them dramatatically. However, due to how incredibly difficult Cactrot Rapido is to fight, there are very few available.

Yes, that's based on your character's elemental alignments and magic resistance tho. This has direct reference to a job trait. So do you actually have this item and can honestly back up what yur saying, or are you just talking out your butt and making unfounded assumptions?

It says it enhances, so does it improve to a certain stat or does it add those to your abilities? cause this would be great for ballista

No, I believe Enhances means it enhances that job trait. I believe (believe in, don't know) you need a +1 (I.E "Resist Blind"+1) for it to become a job trait.

Ok, it used to sell for around 1 million and is now down to 500k on Phoenix.

Stats arent THAT great I guess for the difficulty of the mob.

I want to hurt you.

Latin != Spanish, just how Spanish != any other language.

And no, that's not Latin. It's already been established that it's Spanish. If it was Latin, it would be Crotalia Solare (I could be wrong, my Latin is a little rusty).

You're close. It would be the genitive "solis" to mean 'of the sun.'

You're close too. ^^

The sun is not in posession of the earring, the earring is coming FROM the sun. Hence I believe that it would be more appropriate as "Crotalia Sole" or "Crotalia a Sole".

Just for your etymological edification, the word "Arete" derives from Greek origins ("αρετη") meaning the intrinsic excellence of an object. Human Arete, for example, is "Virtue" (Plato's Republic spends a great deal of time examining this concept). So it would not be inappropriate to translate the name of this item less literally as "Virtue of the Sun", which sounds alot cooler than "Earring", IMHO.

I have no training in Spanish or Latin, but while I've always sorta assumed that "Sol" was the Latin term for "Sun", the word "del" does not register with me in any way as sounding Latin. Furthermore, I'm having this weird Deja Vu feeling like I've heard the phrase "Arete del Sol" somewhere before, perhaps in another game...

Ah, I knew I wasn't right. I totally forgot all the declensions, I just took a blind stab at it. Damn, I should go over my Latin notes from high school, I still have them all.

Thanks for correcting me.
And...
# May 03 2004 at 7:16 PM Rating: Decent
It's "Ring of the Sun" in Spanish, I believe.
RE: And...
# May 06 2004 at 7:49 PM Rating: Default
Actually, that'd be "Earring of the Sun," to be more accurate.
