At least not every great piece of equipment is overly expensive/hard to obtain. These gloves are a steal. They have the stats of Leaping Boots x2 if you figure 2 DEX = 1 Acc and 2 AGI = 1 Eva. I'll be wearing these on my BST until AF most likely, and same goes for my THF, except I'll macro equip swap the M Custom Gloves for the added DEX for SA.
so, u think that these have the same stats as leaping boots x2, ur halfway right. Although these do give the +3 eva and acc that +6 dex and +6 agi would give, thats not the only thing that dex and agi gives. dex helps with critical hits and raises accuracy by 1 for every +2 dex u have. agi helps with ranged attacks as well, which is why rng focus more on agi than on str.
All the people asking about these or Legionaire's Mittens or Royal Footman's Gloves: These are better. I've been using them for quite a while, and will be up to my AF. Still got a ways to go.
Fortunetly, I'm a complusive other-job leveler, so I won't have to say goodbye to these even when I get those. :D
I am so Glad DRG gets these Gloves. I got mine at level 20(I spent the entire time from 10-20 in valk with out retreating to Sandy) and I have had them ever since. Now I'm a level 53 Dragoon and still using these wonderful gloves^^. I am very excited that in 3 more levels to be able to wear my AF gloves but I am also saddened at the passing aof a great friend. :P
Well I need money for armor so im gonna just camp these. Was just wondering, how deep are the chest where you get these in the tomb? I was thinking of going in with 20 thf.
hey guys, first post here, i was just wondering, after a fair amount of looking, where do treasure chests pop in this dungeon? im on fairy server (incase it varies by server)
im still wearing these, if you don't want to buy them, they are very easy to get. Just go to Ranperre's Tomb and get a key, look for a treasure chest( it will probably be there) and you should get them 1 every 2 times. I'm 2/3 on these
I love these gloves, they will serve me well for a long time ^^. I wasn't particularly fussed about equipment as such, so I've only recently bought mine, didn't know what I was missing :D
I got them for 5k on Diabolos, but they can sell for up to 10k
I got mine for 4k in windurst on fenier, no lie, i thought i was going to have to buy them for a lot more. and i checked the price history, 4k all the way down. anywayz there awesome, use them with rdm and drg.
im a lvl 25 RDM on Ifrit named Gandalv hence the name GandalvofIfrit i traded some lvl 50 armor for these that sum1 gave me and it was like 15k in ah and he told me that i ripped the other guy off so i'd say these are anywhere from 15k-20k eaach i will be willing to sell you my gloves for 15k if you give me a holla, jist tell me and send money to MH and ill ship over the gloves i recently bought them so i dont know about price changes**
--for a 5k discount help me get the giddeus chest key, and the ghelsba chest key for kazham
No, I actually just purchased mine a week ago on Carbuncle at AH and it ran me 9K (Sorry compared to armor I am buying now these are not bad). Compared to other armor I believe this is very reasonable, especially do to I have used it from 30-35 and plan on using them till I go for AF as of right now. So depending on the server they go for around 9K hope this helps and if you see it higher just try different AH in towns till you spend what you want but no more than 10K. These are great especially for DD and due to me being a Drg I am trying to build my Acc as much as possible and have notice a great difference in hit ratio since purchasing, see you on the server.
I don't know when to get rid of these...I get tired of looking at them after having them for 17 levels, but nothing else measures up...So here's to Battle Gloves, the best, cheapest low-level gloves there ever were! *clinks glass*
I am a 31 Drg right now and I am curious on weather I should trade my Centurion's in on these. Mine have a +1 on Dex but looking at these I am curious on how much more the Acc would help. So the question to everyone is Centurion / Battle? Thanks all
HUME DRG/THF- In my opnion I say +1 or 2 DEX is better then Acc. Yes ACC is good but that doesn't mean u have DEX. 2 DEX = 1 Acc. But it dont add to yours critical hits. Only Acc. Battle Gloves gives 3 Acc. but its not +6 DEX. I say hold on to your gloves or If ur HUME, then buy RSE Gloves. +3 DEX AND STR. I am DRG 36/THF 18. I have +12 DEX and I get Critical 1/2 Hits. My Tp is faster then A Sam.
DEX is handy and useful to have, but I personally would go for the accuracy. When you're using slower weapons (great sword, great axe, great katana, polearms), if you miss, you have a long wait to make up for it. On top of that, 1 DEX add .01% chance for critical hits. This isn't nearly enough to outweigh the benefits of accuracy, especially if you sub thief and plan on using sneak attack, or sneak/trick ~60.
1 DEX is nowhere near as useful as +3 ACC. To get the same ACC boost from DEX you'd need +6 DEX. One dex won't boost your critical rate enough to justify passing up.
If those gloves were available for DRK, you'd probably see some of them wear them until their AF.
These gloves are simply awesome for a BST, not even sure when I'll get rid of these babies. Not for while (shh, don't tell the person that is "lending" them to me ;)
why wouldnt a mnk/drg be able to? they're DD's and this is good for DD because of the ACC boost, not to mention its light armor not heavy plated thats another reason they can wear them.
Sit right there and I'll tell you a tale, a tale of a fateful ship...
Well, not quite. I spent three hours getting these gloves yesterday and hope that my experience can help anyone else trying to get these gloves.
1: I got my key within the first fifteen minutes. I was on at about 11:15 p.m. EST. Basically, I slaughtered everything that I could possibly get the key from. However, I spent the next two hours looking for that #%&@ chest. Yes, I went to Mysterytour and looked at the spawn spots, but there was no chest to be found. There were at least two other people camping the chest. Lo and behold, the chest finally appeared. It was in next to the northern wall of the stair area in J-5. I was so excited! When I opened the chest, all I got was 570 gil :( Note, however, that I had 30 items when I opened the chest (yes, 30 including the Ranperre key).
2: This time, it was personal. I had spent way too much time to not get these things, even if they only sell for 5k on my server in San d'Oria. I started to kill again, but then quickly became discouraged and decided that 2 AM EST was late enough. Then, the game played a cruel trick on me: It spawned a chest in the same place!!! I didn't see anyone in Ranperre's at that time, so I again proceeded to slaughter everything that could give me the key in a desperate race to get a key before someone else took the chest (berserk and meat kabobs were a plus for this part). It took me twenty-five mintues to get the key again; I was on edge the whole time though. Well, I ran back to the chest, making sure that I had only 29 items in my inventory including the Ranperre key, opened the chest, and............... yes! The gloves!
Morals of story:
1: Have at least one open space in your inventory when you open a chest. I am not sure if that makes a difference in whether the game gives you gil or an item, but no reason to risk it.
2: Be patient. Good things come to those who wait (even if it is three hours)
3: It could be worse: You could be hunting Leaping Lizzy!
4: I got both my keys from gobs (but not leechers, gamblers, or muggers).
5: I'm sorry, but I was not able to uncover any specific information about the chest spawn rate.
How much stuff you have in your invintory doesn't matter. What the chest gives you is pretty much random...so it mostly gives you gil. It gave me a Lapis Lazuli once! Too bad its worth nothin. And for the keys... they pretty much come off of everything in that region. The skells, the worms, the gobs, and even the Goblin Gruel (got the key off of it once, along with the earing. ^^ So happy hunting to those of you who want to get it for free. I know I did.
