Chef's hat hasnt shown up yet...
# Mar 27 2006 at 3:03 PM Rating: Decent
Um... Excuse me, I have a question. Now I managed to get my cooking to 41 and I've stopped my skilling up and just started doing GP. I'm at about 68,800 something and as everyone has said, the hat is at 70k. I haven't been able to see the option to get Chef's hat yet and I was wondering if you had to actually ~have~ 70k before the option shows up. Would be great to get a response. Thanx much.

Lub Always,

A brat from Titan, Cloude ^-^

Edit: I'm just editing and giving elaboration for this item. Cutely realized by Mr. fiance of mine, you need Journeyman rank (lvl 48+), Chef's hat becomes available under things you can use your GP with. I JUST obtained 48 and Journeyman AND my hat~ ^.~

if the hat is like the specs you can get from boneworking, the required level is around 48-50, and the rank associated with that level. Hope this helps.

You need to be at a higher cooking rank to be able to have the option of buying the hat.

Each rank gives you more items you can buy with your guild points.

For the hat I belive you need to have cooking at craftsman rank which is about lvl 60.

Its been a while since I got mine so I can't rember the lvl.

But if you not able to see it then you are not higher enough in rank to get it.

Is they a certain lvl you have to reach before you can look at the amount of guild points it will take to get the chef's hat, the only thing for me is:

Raw fish handling
Noodle kneading

Do they come after I buy these?

i'm resident of windurst on Odin server and i belonged to the late Circle of the Moon linkshell. that was a ninja linkshell. ninja's need sushi. our leader ayell hasn't been on for a while. i don't think ishould buy these raw fish handling equipment. so what next? oh and i'm a summoner/black mage, my ninja is only lvl 10 i joined cuz of my cooking. i hope she's ok >_< i kinda like ninjas now especially US TARUTARU.. we rock!!!!!!!

considering u can't make any sushi until cooking lvl 70 or so, this key item seems kind of useless until that lvl. I haven't found any recepies other than sushi that use the key item raw fish handling.

Raw Fish handling is very very usefull as you get higher lvl. I think Squid Sushi is the first craft you are able to do that requires this. I agree the hat is very pimp, but if you are still skilling up I would do Raw Fish. This will be very handy later for making lots of money!

Cooks get a Cordon Bleu Set, I don't know what it does but you can get it if you have 150k guild points.

pity they don't bother giving actuall guild enhancing stats. would that not make the most sense? a little cooking skill +1, +2? it's apparently possible. there is a ninja katana that give cooking skill a +3. enhances resist poison, what does that have to do with cooking?
RE: odd.
# Aug 12 2004 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
How do you get the ninja Katana that boosts cooking?
RE: odd.
# Aug 06 2005 at 2:59 AM Rating: Decent
NM or AH NIN lvl 57 rare item.
Dropped off NM Tonberry mob.
Enhances Resist Poison has nothing to do with cooking, several items have this Mod, It resists poison status effect.

/em slaps his own forehead.

man, didn't look close enough i guess. phew, thanks for pointing that out, i was wondering...

edit: oh, now i see why i said that. it seems the text "cooking skill" appears only on certain pages. right now i see this:

: 1, Enhances Resist Poison

well, that : 1, clearly means cooking skill: 1. ahh.

At an average of 1500 guild points possible per day, it's going to take about a month and a half to accumulate enough points for the Chef's Hat. >< Not to mention the Apron. There's hope, though. The limit the first day was about 1400, today it was about 1700. So maybe it'll go up every day.

# Apr 23 2004 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
How do you go about getting there guild points? Sorry I haven't been in the synthesis field of work for a while (Highest Skill is Recruit-Cooking). Also how do you check how many you have with each guild? Thanks!

You talk to the guild point NPC, and each earth day she will ask you for a certain item. Trade it to her and you get rewarded with guild points. The NPC also will tell you how many points you have, what the points limit for that day is, and show you the items you can buy. Also based on what she said when i signed up, you can only be doing this quest with one guild at a time, and if you change what guild you are doing it for you forfeit all unspent points.

So for example, I go talk to the NPC, and with my Artisan level of cooking skill she is asking for "Iron Bread". So i go by my safe to pick up my rock salt, buy some water from the restaurant and pick up 3 sandoria flour at the cooking guild (115 each, highway robbery - its half that price in sandy), synth iron bread 3 times to get a stack and turn it in and get 300 points. NPC says i have 1460 left to get but the guild shop closed and I dont feel like airshipping all the way to sandy or anything to get the good price on flour so i forget it for now.
