Just a heads up, I think the person in the pic slept with the cooking guild leader, because I've seen her in action and she's a pretty sub-par cook...lots of breaks, partially-cooked steak, I once ordered some sushi and got insect paste with a "catch your own stupid sushi" note stuck to it, very unprofessional.
does this mean that everything you make is the +1 version. like instead of making salmon subs i would make ill-long subs or instead of mithkabobs i would make chiefkabobs?

I know this sounds very noobish but i am a lvl 30 blm and have no clue how to get guild points, get higher ranks and that good stuff, if anyone could tell me i would appreciate it alot :D
Hello ^^ I would like to give you guys a suggestful hint, Before you even get to the rank to be able to get this, take advantage of it =), in my opinion , it seems that the lower your craft rank is, the stuff you need doesn't cost much, at the moment, I have 44 cooking and I'm planning to get more guild points before I am going to level cooking more. Also, I'd get the apron first since it takes longer to get, Apron : You need 100,000 Guild Points, Level 68 Cooking, that takes a while... Hat : You need 70,000 Guild Points , and 48 skill... You won't get the items faster but I'm just saying , save your guild points up before you can even buy Chef's Hat or Apron.. It should save you alot of time, effort and money ... lol For instance , People want the +1 cooking skill fast so they just get the hat, but in the future the apron would take approximantly 2 months of handing in items. You should have 28 Cooking and have Novice rank to start getting guild points. Leveling cooking is easy, you just need money. =) My friend got cooking from 0 to 87 in just one week ... He had no cooking items =D lol Hope this guide is helpful to you all ^^;
Well to answer a few questions regarding Guild Points, there is no "Set" limit except what the NPC tells you when you ask them "What is my limit". If they give you something easy, it carries a different amount of points for that item, with a limit for the maximum amount of GP you can earn on that item during the time period. I've checked every day and as soon as the item changes, you have exactly 25 game days or nearly 1 earth day to get those items turned in for GP.
Regarding getting this, the hat and furnishings set to open, you need to get the lvls for them and the rank before they show up on "Use my guild points" option. Hat opens at lvl 48+ Journeyman rank, apron at 68+ Artisan rank and 88+ (not high enough to know rank name yet) for the cordon bleu furnishing. It's a long and slow process to earn GP, but once you have the requested item, simply TRADE them to the NPC to earn GP.
Well hope that answers some questions and clears up some confusion at the same time. ATM my Taru's cooking is 68.2 so.... yeah sushi soon, and all the high IN DEMAND food!!! Takes loads of gil to lvl and I had to move him around all the place so he'd have access to regional NPCs for stuff, but hey at lvl 1 he walked to Jeuno and back just fine.
The hat (70,000 guild points) will become available once you reach Apprentice status which you can take the test for at lv48. You can get the Apron (100,000 guild points) with Artisan status at lv68.
what is the main difference between the hat and apron....???? also you can check what your limits are for that day and how many points you can gain just ask the NPC and go to what are my limits....
Just got to Cooking lvl 28, turned in my bowl of Vegetable Gruel, and now I'm a Novice. I think, "Sweet! Now I can start accumulating Guild Points! The Guild-Specific Armor is mine!" Except, once I checked what items they were selling, I see that they're only offering the Key Item "Raw Fish Handling", and the HQ Crystals, which seem to do nothing to increase your chances of doing anything useful. Where's the Guild-Specific Armor, then? Perhaps it's only even sold to guild members of higher rank?
at 28 you can start submiting crafted items in for guild points... ( a long process) but you wont get the apron until lvl 48ish (it requires 100k points). you get the chef's hat first (70k points).
i believe with the release of CoP there are other "key items" you can obtain aswell...
um, go here for more info http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=24&mid=1082596813902318052
don't think it says anything about the keyitems though...
The max is 3,600 at a time, you have 10 vanadel game days per requested iteam. You must sign a contract with guild to do this, I also want to point out this sucks for all of us over lvl 60 cook sence our iteams are so exspensive to make. You get different point per iteam turned in. Examp i get 600 per iteam on rasien bread with is lvl 67 iteam and costly last 10 days, now i get 50 for peeble soup and 55 for wisdom soup for these 10 days. Apron is exspensive for non noob cooks, so squarX show us some love......
I'm glad to see that SE has added guild specific armor, if you will. The only kind i remember was the fishing clothes and the miners equipment before the update.
this seems like a very nice thing to have while crafting away from shop, and also great with advanced support.
I presume they mean extra skill gains. The apron "must", and this is just speculations at this point, help you with the synthesis of HQ items. There are new NPC's related to those items, they will not help you unless you have attained the NOVICE status with the guild.
I don't remember the NPC name.. but as stated above you turn requested items in to them and they will reward you with guild points. It seems like the average maximum is around 1500 a day. NOTE: The process is done on EARTH's DAY. Don't ask me why, lol.
the maximum is 2000 GP for each earth day. i just made 12 slices of roast mutton for 180 GP each, until the last one gave only 20. I looked at how much GP i had and it was 2000. This was the first time i had ever gotten GP before.
