The apron lowers the items caught to 1% or less of the total casts.

It's worth it

When you combine it with the waders, you're still at +4 fishing skill with a smaller chance of getting items. So the apron is well worth it.

Gives the title: "Coastline Caster"

mainly just to show that you are a fishing *****. I'm gonna try to get this after i get the waders.
10k GP so far. I've seen 2-3 people with the set so far :).

Less chance to catch items. This could be useful to avoid snapping your rod on rusties etc.

Item description says it "Reduces the chance to catch items" however No + fishing skill on it. I'm guessing you can purchase these via craft points at 58 skill or the appropriate fishing "title".

and you couldn't just use the normal + to fishing skill items? Or do these give larger bonuses?

the only real difference I see is the 4 DEF and +1 to ice and lightning. But how many use these in a fight?

Well, I suppose you could use them instead if the normal lvl 1 items at lower jobs.
