You have to be [at least] lvl 48 Goldsmithing (Journeyman). It costs 70k in Guild Points. You have to be at least (Novice) to earn Guild Points. How you build up the guild points is entirely up to you. I stayed at Novice for a while so that I could turn in cheaper items for points. I'm not rich so I am thrifty when it comes to my spending. I am still novice but almost have enough points to buy it. Then all I have to do is lvl my craft to 48.
You can only get 1 craft to lvl 100, all others cannot excede 60. (I've Heard)You can lvl all your crafts to 80, but as soon as one craft passes 80, the rest of your crafts will be dropped to 60 automatically. I hope this helps anyone.
I got a couple of questions. And I thank anyone who answers.
1. How long would it take to get these babies?
2. Can anyone post a guide to what should be synthesized to gain levels the fastest (Only until 48): Example: 1-3: Copper Ingots = Fire Crystal + Copper Ore x4 3-5: Copper Ring = Fire Crystal + Copper Ingots x2 Etc.
I just got mine yesterday and they look too cool :D After I had turned in my final GP, I had 70080 total ^^; So I was able to get them barely; Now to try to get to 68 and get that apron >.<;
Oh and btw I love the title you get from recieving these: Trinket Turner ^^
I would spend whatever it takes to get my GS high enough to get to trade enough to get these. Too bad I'm flat broke, that's a pretty bad start to 60+ GS...
it depends on your level. i made all my GP with GS-skill 50. and it cost me 150-200k on Asura. the Guild point items are very often much lower than you Skill so you synth your GP-Items and only trade the NQ to the NPC, the HQs you could sell @ the AH as often as possible. So you could make a nice prifit on some syths and get a little bit money back.
Actually it depends a lot on your goldsmithing level. The guild point item of your class determines how much you will spend per guild point. On the lowest class, Novice, you get easy items that are cheap if you buy them in stores, and that give little guild points per item and per day. However, relatively, these are the best items to trade in since you get a high GP per gil ratio. Here are some examples of what this weeks items were. The number between brackets is how much gil you will spend on 1 GP turning this item in:
Brass Hairpin (4.50), Poet cirlet (4.76), Sapara (3.69), Brass ring (3.93), Copper ring (3.94), Silver earring (7.98)
As a nice average, you could say on this level 1 GP only costs 5 gil (and a lot of patience), which would result in the glasses costing
70.000 GP x 5 gil/GP = 350.000 gil
So they're not in the millions or anything. The only problem arising here, is that as a novice you can't buy these things. Actually the best idea would be to trade in as many guildpoints as you have patience for before going another level up and making GP more expensive to acquire. If you levelup faster, your glasses are going to get a lot more costly.
I also got mine yesterday.. Last item I had to make was Poet's Circlet. I also had to get one more Goldsmithing level. You have to be 48 (journeyman) to have the option to obtain them. Damn my monk looks so PIMP in them. :D
Dunno why I never saw yr post before Half. Yeah, Half looks definitely stylish in these shades, but hidden effect (for Half): blurred vision that only permits him to hit 5% of the time on anything over EM mobs (grin.. j/k). Zaubie.
Just got mine yesterday. I was so excited to see that yesterdays item was two Heater Shields for a max of 6,340 (they were worth 3,400GP each almost) guild points or something. This put me just past 70k GP required for the glasses so I bought them a couple days earlier than expected.
Point is, ill be wearing these (completely un-necessarily)everywhere I go for the next few weeks or so. I apologize, its just that they look so damn cool and I just can't get over them. Don't worry, I won't wear them in EXP parties like some people ive seen. Thats just silly.
For all practical purposes though, this item is awesome. I can't confirm this, but I tried my usual de-synthing Mythril Earrings rutine during light day (twice) yesterday and had amazing HQ rates. The HQs far outweighed the NQs, and when I broke, I usually didnt lose the item. Maybe it has something to do with the Light Elemental resistance +1 to it.
You must be Novice rank which is 28 to begin a guild contract and start saving points. You must be Journeyman rank which is lvl 48 to obtain Shaded specs and Artisan rank which is lvl 68 to obtain Goldsmith's apron.
From the pervious post, I read that if u have the Ps2 version of FFxi and switch to first person mode this will allow you to see everything in a darkened matter, can anyone conform this? Can anyone conform if any of these rare/ex glasses have the ability to change one’s eye sight? ( in the terms of color)
I can confirm that they do NOT affect how things look in first person view. I got mine a few days ago on PS2 and tried it with and without them, there is no difference at all. That's only a rumor, it seems.
Ok, so everyone starts leveling a craft and as they pass the 28 marker they begin to wonder what the best way to save up GP for those coolio Guild Items is, right? So they go to Mysterytour and find nothing, then search vainly through the forums on allakhazam for a couple hours, then go start just throwing gil at it in hopes of coming out on top. Am I not right? So I propose a Guild Point Database. I have a little bit of info on Goldsmithing items, but the more info I can get the better the Database will be. Here's what I have so far, if you send info in a response, please add crafting level as well as max GP available for that item.
--Goldsmithing-- -----name----------skill-----GP/1---------GP max Brass Cap----------10------327------------?? Brass Cap +1------10------388------------?? Brass Harness-----18------497------------?? Silver Hairpin-------27------345------------?? Silver Belt-----------25------798------------??
That's all I have for now, but I'll add more info as I can get hold of it. GP maxes will be forthcoming as GP items come around again. Please send more info so I can add it in, and rate up if you find this helpful at all ^^
Earlier statements retracted, I just saw that link below. Very nice info! Here's a working link, these forums are screwy about htmls: http://www.titanictus.com/tools/guild.php
finally got my pair today, i must admit it feals good since it took me 4 months to get, but afterwords it was really no big deal... but i still love these things
Ok so if i were to start from 0 and as i rose in the ranks....handing in things as i make them(if hes asking for em) you think its possible to have enough poitns by the time im 48, i just wanna wear these kick **** glasses to look like a pimp, and level my craft...
You can start acquiring guild points at level 28 (assuming you have taken the test for the Novice level).
At this point (Novice) you can only spend them on crystals or the new key items. Alternately, you can continue to save them until you are high enough in the guild to get the glasses.
i have these shades if u play on PS2 and u have em on press R3 or L3 what ever one make u go 1st person view everthing is darkened if anyone wants em ill sell them to u for a fair price
- The first "guildmaster item" can be bought with "guildpoints" for 70,000 - a Craft skill of 48 (Journeyman rank) is required.
- Guildpoints are earned by trading a requested item to the "guildmaster"
- Guildpoints are determined on prices of materials/difficulty to make e.g : Bone hairpin will be roughly 200 points, a Caraprace Gorget is roughly 2000 points
- 2nd item (usually an apron) may be bought at rank artisan skill 68 (i think) - for 100,000 points
- higher level can be bought (usually) a furniture item
- There are different items for each guild, so yes, to get these Shaded Specs - 48+ in goldsmithing alone is required
Hope this can answer any/all questions before being asked
Do all of the guilds offer the same guild items? I.E, Could I learn Alchemy or Clothcrafting and still get the same spectacles? Or does it have to be GoldSmithing?
The Guild Points are directly related to the sale value to a NPC. I've been working on getting these for a few weeks, sometimes the items are almost not worth trading in, unless you have tons of gil. But for me it's been bouncing between around 2000 to 5000 points per day.
