Ok someone mentioned in another post on the Fit For a Prince quest that if you do something with a wind crystal you can add your Initials into the synthesis - WRONG!!! I did it and I got rid of the Rare Ex on it - I dont know why it did that but it sure isinteresting.

Hmmm ... if a wind crystal removes the Rare/Ex then you should be able to use one of the guild crystals to put your name on the ring ....

You've now piqued my interest so I have to go do the damn quest that gives me this ring.

Just like real marriage,you would think that there would be some very obvious things that you would get on a regular basis,but in the end,you spend alot of money,bolt yourself to a member of the opposite sex, and then get pretty much nothing. I can see it now.

Wife "Did you just check her"
Husbaand "Huh?"
Wife "That mithra,you just examined her!"
Husband "Yea,shes a 75 RDM ,I wanted to see what kind of equipment she had."
Wife "You think shes prettier than me?"
Husband "I jsut wanted to see what kind of equipment I would need at 75"
Wife "Do you wish you had married a mithra?" <Wife runs off to mog house crying and locks the door>
<Husband goes fishing>

Psh...yeah right, sure that's how real marriages go...when you marry the wrong person...-_- Stop knocking marriages, it's a lot better than what people think it is.

Plus I'm already saving up to get my character married. Who cares if it doesn't give you any benefits? Being married to the person you love or even just to your best friend is enough satsifaction.

... there is no benefits ... why do you people want benifits you greedy greedy people ... the marriage system is for the ROLE PLAYING aspect of the ROLE PLAYING GAME so to all the people who think marriage is worthless because there is no extra benifits ... stfu

In response to Aygen's post about us being greedy people with regard to benefits to marriage: there are benefits to marriage in real life too. Taxes are better, finances are better, your social standing is enhanced, you generally get closer friends, etc. etc.

So when we ask for a benefit to being married in a game, I feel we are completely justified. To just be latched to another character in the game for role-playing only, does not really sell the idea of marriage. Personally, no matter how into role-playing I am, I will not get married to anyone unless there is a clear benefit to it. Why would I want to take up an equipment/item slot with a useless ring? So, yes, for me, there better be a benefit to take on a "wife" in this game.

I also heard on another site somewhere, can't remember where, that in the Japanese version (where they have the marriage system), you have to be married to the person in real life to marry them ingame. It might have been just married in real life, but being married to the real person makes more sense as it wouldn't promote adultry/polygamy.

But not everyone who marries in real life does it for the benefits. I certainly didn't. I didn't even know about the benefits..O_o;;

I understand what yer saying that in real life theres benefits. That is also real life. The reason I believe there isnt what you call "real" benefits is that everyone would just jump on it just for the hades of it, thus marryin yer mules. Theres more to it the just benefits, its being with that person, like my real wife and I are chars are getting married for numerous reasons, one we love each other in real life and want to show it as well on the game, two we're never seperated we lvl up together do quests together and missions, together, we never leave each other's side. There's more to marriage then money and stuff, theres the fact yer with the one you love or like for those who want to marry friends in the game, its a game not real life.
