Wow before that i believed that asura suked but if glx isnt lying ( and i know this guy is nice so i dont think he does ) he would the 3rd MNK (i ve seen) with that piece of gold ^^ : papillon (jp if i remember) some MNK of machina ls and glx ^^

I'd like to point out that you have to be a level 71 Monk to obtain the quest. I just hit 70 on my monk, got hero fame in norg, and went in with my warrior(75) to get the quest so I could trade for my belt, no luck. Looks like I still need another 37k XP until I can get my black belt.
Seriously guys, what do you expect? This IS a black belt. In old Shaolin Monasteries, you had to endure a long test in which the monk would venture through the cave of trials solving ancient puzzles and at the end, the only way to leave the cavern and enter the dubbing room was to move a vat of boiling lead that has no handles. So, it's either grab it by the sides and forever destroy your hands, rendering them useless, or buck up, slap your wrists on the side and weild the vat. thankfully, there were two pegs for your wrists that have dragons on them. So, if you beat conquered the puzzles, and weild the vat of lead, You will gain access to the entrance of the Cristining chamber, be marked on your feet by the puzzles (I'll spare you the details) and have a dragon and a tiger burned into your wrists...sound familiar?

For any of those future MNK's trying to get this item. Killing all 3 HMN's is a very DIFFICULT TASK. These HNM's espcially Fafnir is camped all the time by HMNLS. The chances of u getting the HMN, let along the item itself, is very hard to do.

I heard a neat suggestion of a guy who got his belt. He BOUGHT the items. Basically camped near NM HNMLS would come by attack the mob and he'd strike up a deal. Though naturally these items don't come cheap, or if you are extremely lucky they'll give them to you for free.
For those who think I'm daffy for suggesting that you by Rare/Ex items. I am refereing that you exchange money to the leader, he'll invite you to the party you lot the item, etc.
Of course there is risks involved but it was an interesting way of going about it.

Can't use this in Maat fight. You have to be lvl 71 to accept quest.
No, you can use this in the Maat fight. While you have to be a 71+ MNK to get the quest, let alone belt itself, after you beat Maat he will mention that if you want to fight him again, you just have to trade him another testimony. So you *could* beat Maat, get to 71, get the belt, then just fight him again with it.

But do you have to ba a MNK to do this quest? If someone was, say, a RDM and got this quest post 71, and that person decided to level MNK, they'd have it ready for the Maat fight.

You need to be Monk 71+ to accept the quest
AND
If you killed maat with RDM you wouldn't need to kill with MNK.
AND

On my server there is monk named OPa he has to be THE GOD OF ALL MONKS he has THE sweetest equipment including this he has like Kirins Osode, Peacock Charm whole bunch insane equipment thats rare/ex including this
This almost makes me want to level monk up to 70 so I can wear this lol.

I would only expect such a quest for such a HAWT! item. Look at the seriously wicked things that it adds. The Haste +12% is stellar!

so i'd say your about 1/4th of the way

I have only seen 2 people on Quetzalcoatl that have this.

Talk to Vola in the Tenshodo HQ in Lower Jeuno.
Kill Fafnir or Nidhogg in the Dragon's Avery to get the RareEx Wyrm Beard. Nidhogg always drops the item.
Go back to the Tenshodo entrance and trade the Wyrm Beard to the door.
Next, kill a Behemoth or King Behemoth in the Behemoth's Dominion to get the RareEx Behemoth's Tongue. King Behemoth always drops the item.
Go back to the Tenshodo entrnace and trade the Behemoth's Tongue to the door.
Now, kill an Adamantoise or Aspidochelone in the Valley of Sorrows to get the RareEx Adamantoise Egg. Aspidochelone always drops the item.

Does haste also increase Mouement Speed, just curious
no, haste is just attck speed.
Haste also decreases recast time for spells, songs and ninjitsu. It does not shorten cast time however, only recast time.
