For those not used to daggers

This is a decent dagger, being one of the 150 delay ones. As someone stated earlier, it is perfect for the en-spell trick. Just some advice, don't hang onto it too long, sooner or later you wil want more from a dagger than just a flat out swing rate.
Which Dagger?
# Jul 29 2005 at 11:53 AM Rating: Decent
Ok once i hit lvl 20 as my THF i wish to switch back to daggers. I am currently using swords but i wanted to know in advance which dagger would be the best to use for me? If I dont get any help then ill stick to the small sword (+2 dex will help i suppose) until I do.

As a THF, your best route would be to use a dagger like this to cap your dagger skill each time you level, then switch back to a sword (Small Sword is quite nice until Mithran Scimitar at 29). Before 33, daggers just don't measure up to swords for a THF. Sneak Attack + Fast Blade (or SATA+Fast Blade from 30-32) does awesome damage. But you do want to keep your dagger capped each level, so that when you get to 33, you can switch to a dagger (or 2 daggers if subbing NIN) and get Viper Bite.

Even better, if you sub NIN starting at 20, you can dual wield with a sword on your mainhand and a dagger like this one on your offhand and you'll still get the dagger skill without losing the sword damage and WSs. However, this isn't possible if THF is the first job you're taking to 30, obviously, since you can't unlock NIN.

Unless you have a job bellow 20 for which you want a realy fast dagger, get the platoon. It's exactly the same speed and does more native damage. By the time you hit 75 the only reason for the beestinger at all is the only do en-damage trick rdm's pull off from time to time (allows us to damage things without giving TP).
NIN 40.. >.<;

Much love to this thing. This is a Rdm's En spell dream weapon. 1.5 second hit delay, and at lvl 27, 7 dmg from each hit extra. Extremely fast. Use this with the right en- spell and you will own elementals easily. But anyway. The reason I write to you all.

You can obtain the Platoon Dagger from BCNM 20's. I don't quite know what else you can get, but I know you get it from there. I bought mine for 20k in Jeuno, and it's worth it to me.

I'm a 20 RDM (currently) and just bought one of these for 10k on Asura Jeuno AH. VERY nice dagger , especially combined w/ "En" spells. I hit about every 2 seconds for 5-10 normal and 1-4 elemental damage.
well, damn

Haha! Same incredibly low wait as Beestinger, but better damage count. I'm retiring my Beestinger once I get this thing. X3~
