Whms don't usually use this armor. Sure its good but Nobles and blessed one is alot better. Jobs thats best for Dalm is rdm and brd because they both don't have any other pieces that give +refresh on a body. Also refresh does stack (like rdm af2 hat and Dalmatica) so thats why u see alot of rdms wear that combination.
Another reason why whms and blms wear it is because of the rarity.

The way all abjurations work is that the mob can drop up to two total, never more. Furthermore, the average drop rate of any abjuration is 25%. Basically the game rolls and you have 1/8 chance of getting each of the 4 abjurations and a 50% chance of nothing. Then it rolls again in the same fashion.

Doesn't drop from KB. Drop rate is a lot higher then 1%, but my LS is 0/3 (1 KB, 2 aspid) on this.
1% would mean it is as rare as d.ring (only 1 confirmed on our server), but i've seen quite a few ppl wearing dalmatica.

i saw a whm with the full set of this armor and 2 astreal rings. I said, damn thats like wearing 12 astreal rings. She said it was 5 mil a peice, on ifrit server
there is a 1% drop rate i was told by a BLM friend of mine on Ramuh, she has the Dalmatica and is the first or second NA on Ramuh to get it, she says it cost her a li'l over 5mil to make. oh, and if you want a HQ or better luck making it, have Clothcraft at 100, Leather at 60, have the +2 (total) clothcraft armor on, wait till Eathday, have someone in Altepa deasert Telepoint posted there and have them tell you when it is DOUBLE eath weather, once it is double earth, get Scynth support and Tele-Altepa, once there, craft and pray that you get it. good luck and if you attempt it following these guidelines let me know, i have yet to try it, but it is the same guide lines for the Noble's Tunic HQ^^

That's interesting, since the highest earth synth HQ rates occur on Windday (or Darkday, I haven't confirmed which is actually higher, I think Darkday is a flat bonus, that doesn't hinge on your skill level much, while windday is a +X% bonus to your current HQ rate), and you can have +2 for cloth, plus Moghancement: Clothcraft and +1 for leather. I don't know much about weather's effect on crafting, but it would stand to reason that again, your highest HQ rates would come from wind weather, possibly in La Theine Plateau? You'll also want to take note of the moon cycle closer to 0% moon = higher HQ rate. And your direction also affects your HQ/success rates, facing either South (Titan constellation) or Southeast (Garuda constellation) should yeild slightly greater HQ chances. You'll also probably want to equip a Terra's or Auster's Staff during the synth, just in case that makes any difference.

All Abjurations are rare/ex. Their Cursed counterparts, however (in this case the Cursed Dalmatica) are not.

u need 103 clothcraft to craft one... yes it possible to get 103 clothcraft
The skill capps out at 103, and since (I belive) our current craft max is 100, the only way to not fail this 50% of the time would be to get some advanced support.

however, the cursed dalmatica is only llv 100. and its possible to get skill lvl above 100 anyways (106 for all but cooking. which can get to 109 if your a 57+nin)
either way. there is no AH history for the -1 of this item and only 2 for the NQ itself. and I have only ever seen a single person wearing this. needless to say not worth it because regardless of what eh % drop may be, it doesnt drop often enough to even synth one..

This is for crafting a dalmatica, one of the best whm armors in the game, i have one and it cost me about 10million to pay somone to craft it for me
Actually, the Noble's Tunic is a much better WHM body, costs only slightly more, and doesn't require an abjuration. Also, theres no way you paid 10 mil to "have someone craft it." It only costs about 8 mil on my server today for the cursed dalmatica materials, and at the time of your post a year ago it would have only cost 2 mil.
Really, a clothcrafter would be paying you to let him make your dalmatica, since it was at the time one of only 2 recipes which could take him to 100 CC.

Actually, Blessed Briault is better then Noble's. Noble's is just gear to macro in to cure spells.

i could be completely off base but in the cathedral of san d'oria, in the scripture room i believe is an npc who speaks of cursed items. says i'll learn more on them later so i'm not sure how this comes into play.

When uncursed using the appropriate Abjuration item, the Cursed Items are transformed into some of the best equipment in the game. So:
High-level crafter makes, for example, a Cursed Dalmatica
Clothcraft 90 min
Crystal: Earth
Siren's Macrame
Rainbow Cloth
Gold Thread
Velvet Cloth x2
Gold Chain
Behemoth Leather
Ram Leather
You then get an alliance together to take down the HNM which drops the abjuration you need to uncurse the item. In this case, you happen to need this very abjuration. With both Abjuration and Cursed Dalmatica in hand, you can now obtain the Dalmatica:
DEF 45 Magic Defense +5 Adds 'Refresh' effect. Enhances 'resist Paralyze' effect. Converts 50HP to MP.
This is why HNMS are camped nonstop once a high-level linkshell gets a 90+ crafter in the fold. Most of the materials needed to make the cursed item in the first place are HNM drops, along with the necessary abjuration to uncurse it. Try invis/sneaking your way into Behemoth's dominion and count the number of people camping there. It's often at least a dozen around the clock, all of them competing.
