rdm main healing
# Sep 28 2007 at 1:57 AM Rating: Decent
as a RDM, would it be better to main heal in errant body piece for +10MND or should the RDM Duelist body armor with +10 healing and fast cast be better? Overall, I'm just looking at what will cure the most HP with cure III and IV, along with other MND gear (earrings/rings), in one cast. Is Healing Skill better than MND? Although fast cast is good, I still have my rdm hat to make up for it, so thought the mnd from errant body would be better. Any ideas?
rdm main healing

mnd is more for white magic debuffs buffs and nukes it doesn't change the max healing power by a whole lot. The +10 from this and the warlock tights would be alot better if you want to main heal.

Just looking at these stats, this thing doesn't seem too impressive, especially when the Warlock's Tabard has the godly +15 enfeebling skill. However, from the moment I first put this on in dynamis, I could feel the speed difference in my Fast Cast. Spells were firing off before 40%... sometimes they seem to go off in the 30%-ish range! Maintaining large haste and refresh cycles have become a breeze. I have the Warlock's Chapeau, Duelist's Tabard, and Loquacious Earring for maximum Fast Cast enhancements. I'm not sure what would be worth giving up any of these pieces.

With capped RDM merits, I feel I can part with the +15 enfeebling skill of the AF1 body in favor of this piece. It's also great for being the all-important RDM/DRK stunner during fights like Tiamat or Cerberus.

Pimptastic!
<3 it dearly.

The tanks of Siren cannot escape my Hastes and Refresh. :D I adore this piece. With my hat, a good portion of spells go off around 50% and that's just awesome.
Tabard for me
# Feb 28 2006 at 7:11 PM Rating: Decent
Hi everyone

I would like to know how i get this piece of armor. What do you have to do to get a dynamis. Is there a NM you have to kill. Is there a certain level that you have to be. If you know anyone thing about this please explain it to me thank you very much. /bow ^^

Thank you again

To get Dynamis you need Rank 6, after than zone into Xarc for a cutscene, then examine any trail markings (present in the four cities, Beaucedine, and Xarc).

You must be 65+ to enter Dynamis cities, and in order to gain Beaucedine access you need to beat Bastok, Jeuno, Sando and Windurst and examine the ??? in each to obtain key items.

Once you've cleared the initial Dynamis zones, you can go to Beaucedine. The tabard is a random drop off any mob.

Many Dynamis LSes will have either "you must be able to equip it to lot it" or a 73+ lot rule on icelands AF2. So I would say, at minimum you need to strive for 73. Most LSes won't consider you for membership if you're much lower, anyway.

This is my preferred body piece in Dynamis. Not just because of the fast cast (though it is addicting) but because the healing magic is +10. I couple this with chapeau and Zenith Slacks and I can usually pull down around 800mp. Not bad for a hume.

When I teleport in this thing it fires the teleport at 56% and I get escapes at 48%. I wear this full time now all over the place. Sure, there are other pieces better for RDM (like the boots) but nothing beats the tabard.

So far our LS has gotten around 9 of them.

Sleeping in Dynamis

Call me crazy, but I think this body would kick *** for sleeping mobs in Dynamis. I'm 75 and have 2 merits into enfeebling so I think dumping 15 Enfeebling skill would be worth it for this piece. I don't have much trouble sticking sleep in Dynamis and the extra Fast Cast would help me get off sleeps fast (especially on avatars, Astral Flow sucks). What do you guys think about this idea?

Imo the boots are the best piece for a multi-purpose RDM. Especially for our solo in which the Eva+5 is nice, as well as the extra MND for Savage Blade. BUT, the Duelist's Tabard is really for an RDM hoping to go all out Fast Cast Utsusemi, apprarently this with the Warlock's Chapeau has some very quick recast times. Not to mention this could have some obvious uses as a mage too, RDM/DRK Stun anyone? :P And the best part of all, is this is the sexiest RDM AF2 piece. >.>

So happy about this...it's like Fast Cast V with the AF1 hat. I bust spells out so fast now it's just amazing. It's just so sexy compared to AF1 body, even just looks-wise, haha.

af3.. right
finally
# Mar 12 2005 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
Got mine today. So far great for soloing, but if you are debuffing AF1 is by far better. Might be nice for for exp only if you macro it in for refresh recasts...maybe RDM/DRK for stun recast...other than that, this should almost be exclusively used to solo which I must admit it rocks for.

Oh, BTW I tested the recast time of utsusemi with the Tabard...

Normal recast time for Ni is 45 sec..
36 seconds for Ni without haste with tabard
30 seconds for Ni with haste + tabard

Normal recast time for Ichi is 30 seconds
24 seconds for Ichi without haste with tabard
20 seconds for Ichi with haste + tabard

So judging from that, not only is CAST time reduced, recast time is also reduced by ~33% with haste on. That is sweeeeeet! GL getting this to all my fellow RDM.

I can confirm this as I got the AF2 tabard a couple weeks ago. They are done with the Warlock's Chapeau.

Um....well...Utsusemi Ni recast is about 31 seconds with chapeau, haste, and no duelist's tabard. So...is this really that great? Only one second difference...
RE: finally
# Sep 21 2006 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
Yes it is, especially with haste gear on or stacked with loquacious earring. With tabard, hat and swift belt alone my utsusemi: Ni recast is only 28 sec. This is not only good for rdm/nin solo alone either. It is very useful for casting spells with extreme speed, I can melee solo a tough as rdm/blm with this because my stoneskin is cast so fast it is literally uninterrrupted, and the recast is quiet a bit faster.

Duelist's Tabard
# Feb 14 2005 at 10:09 AM Rating: Excellent
This body piece along with af1 hat not only makes you cast spells faster (which makes it awesome) it also reduces the recast time for your spells when wearing it. Great for soloing as RDM/NIN for Utsusemi recast timer as well as RDM/DRK for HNM for reducing stun recast time.

In order to get this Duelist's Tabard you must do all the Dynamis and reach Beacudine Glacier...

Then if lucky enough you kill all these monsters and they drop it... lol believe me I was very lucky to get this godlike fastcast bodyarmor... Casted a lot for 998 points, the rdms in my alliances just gave up or they couldin't lot it higher...

This is worth dying to get if your that type to show off :P With 4 Fastcast : 2 traits, af1 hat and af2 body, you can cast almost any enfeeble magics instantly...

check this link : http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/dynamis/0dynamis.htm#AF2 <<< this link gives full information about relics and af2...

I was camping Torrent one day when a rdm75 was camping too and wearing this. I was in my RDM AF (as much as I have now) and we were chatting right after torrent had spawned.

He told me with this hat his spells fire at 41%, which is just SICK, haha... At RDM54 (10k tnl FastCast 3 ^^) mine fire at 69%.

Listening to him cast, I totally belive him. I can hear his spells firing before they were halfway cast. I've cast refresh enough to know, it sounded like he was casting Paralyze, or even something like Slow. Wow....

41%? That's SICK. I can't wait till I get this baby along with a Loquecious earring. It'll be awhile but it'll be so freaking awesome. Utsusemi: Ichi would fire as fast as a NIN's Utsusemi: Ni. You could almost cast Stoneskin without Blink up. Would make soloing a lot easier. The faster you can cast things, the faster you get your buffs up, and the more hits you can get in.
