I don't see it mentioned here, if it is, I sure missed it. The Enmity is now +4, not +2. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/moonlitdragon85/AF2pants.jpg

That's a screenshot of the pair I received just recently. Just thought I'd mention it.

I would rate you up for that one my friend but I dont have my Defaukt score out of default so a rate up would be nice lol. Plus still looking for a ream to help me get through windy w/ my TH3 Thf.
Enmity

Okay so Every single piece of the thf AF2 gives you +Enmity. Can anyone tell me exactly how this would help a thf since they're all about staying hidden? Does the Enmity transfer over to the person you TA on? And there's another piece or too that gives you +CHR. What gives does a thf really need CHR? Does that help hide or something cause that's the only thing I can think of. This armor is soooo <Sweets> but of course, in usual SE fashion, they've gone and given it some horrible stats that don't even help thieves 1 bit (unless the above thing about enmity and chr is true). But even if it was true they went a little overboard with the +Enmity. I mean a few more AGI, the thf's most used stat, would be a bit more helpful. It's things like this that makes everyone in the game wear all the same ****. Everyone wears SH because it's really good and SE is too lazy to give us more new equipment. At least WoW has a plethora of equipment. And c'mon this is the Thief's AF2...there shouldn't be anything better. I've always thought that it sucks that SE made a lot of the AF so ****** cause it would be so great to see a full party with everyone wearing the gear that is the epitomy of their job. It seems like SE doesn't even really appreciate what they've made.

CHR is for DE since its based on it
Enmity

Enmity is very helpful for setting hate on the tank with TA.

I've always thought that CHR would help steal a little. I haven't tested it at all, but looking at the stats, it may seem like thats the case.
Enmity or AGI?
# Jul 19 2006 at 12:53 PM Rating: Decent
From my experiences, this piece of gear would only be good for tanking, or for particular situations in exp pts.
Since TA is based on AGI (It is, every thf who has tested that do knows it),
With +4 agi from AF1 you would do more damage so directly transfer more hate to main tank in party, while with AFv2, you would only transfer hate (Maybe more?) but you would deal less damage to the monster, so, depending on pt setup you gotta choose what piece of gear use.

ex:
1.)
If you'r in party with pld, whm, brd, blm, drk/thf and yourself,
You'd rather use agi+ gear to TA the tank since drk can easily transfer hate with his TA and pld can get hate back if he loose it with flash and if he can't get hate back from a MB he can still use cover while blm cast stoneskin giving thf time to transfer hate back to tank.

2.)
If you'r in party with blm, blm, rdm, nin, rng and yourself,
You will prolly need to transfer as much hate as possible on the nin using AFv2, since rng can pull hate easily with a sidewinder or a slug shot, and 2 MBs will get A LOT of hate! (Even if after 2 MBs monster will prolly be dead..)

Please forgive me for my mistakes in english if i made any, and i hope this can help every thfs out there.

THF enmity +
# Jan 27 2005 at 11:27 AM Rating: Default
Well actually Enmity + on THF AF2 is very good, not for giving tank more hate but for tanking, thief has evasion grade A+ and at lvl 74 a THF/NIN can use Utsusemi Ni, that makes thf a much better tank than a Nin, the problem would be how to keep hate, thats why enmity+ is very good for lvl 74-75 THf's

your still going to have one hell of a time keeping hate unless those rumors about Vrtra drop a provoke helm are true

Its called a Revilers helm, and its very true, but, its level 70... something XD and thief cant equip it :(

The provoke helm you mentioned would be a nice idea but THFs cant equip it T.T

A THF/NIN tank would only be possible if they could be Tricked on by another THF or other THFs in the PT. Imagine a lvl74+ PT consisting of 4 THFs, a WHM and a RDM.. whichever THF pulls - tanks :Q Wont be good for SCs though unless one of the THFs uses a club, h2h or sword maybe..

THF's can tank Chardibys (sp?) for joyuese easily without losing hate. You're not going to tank in an EXP party but use it more for easy HNM's. THF and RDM can duo cassie if done correctly and I remember seeing screen shots of a THF who soloed a regular behemoth.

The enmity is nice but if your doing this you'd rather have evasion so its not really the best choice but its ok. Also THF can't really tank better than a NIN as NIN has the best slow, blind spells and good paralyze as well.
RE: THF enmity +
# Oct 13 2005 at 8:49 PM Rating: Default
Thf with crossbow also has tricks up his sleeve though. So a Thf can use blind, sleep, and defense down which are more effective than Nin debuffs in my opinion. (Only interrupted when knocked back by certain specials) Not to include Nin doesn't have sleep or drain capabilities. At higher levels I'm sure some Katana has drain effect but doesn't trigger quite like a bloody bolt.

Paralyze doesn't kick on often, and rarely when a Nin is recasting utsusemi. But Thf on the other hand can use a sleep bolt, turn away from mob and recast utsusemi without interruption. This is why Thf can take on DC fire elementals. 50thf in Castle Oztroja and I finish a fight with DC fire elemental and end with more hp than a 56nin/???, obviously with the use of Blind, Bloody, and Sleep Bolts.

+Enemity on THF AF isn't for tanking...it's for tranfering that Enemity onto the tank...why would a THF want to tank in the first place...ludicrise idea

Because A+ in evasion along with job specific evasion bonuses and utsusemei makes a THF a very, VERY good tank.

It isn't a bad idea, there are many high-level THFs that tank in certain situations.

In battles where holding hate would be no problem (provoke not needed), THF is arguably better than NIN. This only applies if holding hate is a VERY easy task though.

I agree 100%, the other night I helped take down Aquarius with a set-up of 75war/nin, 75thf/nin, 75whm/blm, 74mnk/war(me) and the thf tanked the fight. While a thf can solo this guy, we got the fight done in about 3 min and had the manpower to incase something bad happened.

It isn't hard if you just put some thought into the idea. All we did was TP up, attack Aquarius, then hit Asuran Fists>>>SA Shark Bite. Just kept using that SC every min(waiting on SA) and the thf maintained perfect hate. All the whm had to do was cure me up after the SC if I got hit and haste the thf.

Is emnity +2 really a bad thing for a thief? Since 90% of your damage happens on SATA, this means more hate transfered to trick partner. This might be worth throwing into your SATA macro. My understandig of emnity is each action you do to a mob or person that has any hate of the mob draws hate, and emnity + increases the hate given for each action. I don't know this for sure, and could be wrong, but I see emnity + as a good thing for 30+ thieves, if used correctly.
RE: um no
# Jul 29 2004 at 4:29 AM Rating: Decent
yes you are correct, the more emnity you have the more hate youre TA is gonna drop on your tank, and if you are fighting a sight agrro mob you can do the SATA+hide mid fight with all that hate youve built up and drop it all on your tank once again. The Assassins gear is VERY good gear for thf, way way better than the first AF ;)

Very correct. Only one small oversight. The Hide ability clears all hate the Thief accumulates from a sight detecting mob. However, that doesn't matter too much anyhow because with all that +Enmity and the damage from a SATA will just about stick it to your tank anyways. ^^

I can't wait to get the THF relic myself- the green is getting tired. ;)
