I have actually seen a Rdm with this sword. looks cool as hell. i didnt wanna believe it either i cant wait till deadnamis =P so i can try and get one too as well as full af2 set. man I gota my work cut out for me =(

Just so that everybody knows, this sword does exist. The only reason why most people don't have don't have it, is because all of the relic weapons cost a fortune to upgrade fully. And for those of you wanting Knights of the round, the relic ws's are available only in dynamis with the 4th upgrade, and everywhere in the final upgrade. So Excalibur here I come. I will have this sword.

A RDM is 200 (E rated) in club skill and 256 (B+ rated) in sword at lvl 75. I'm afraid that all a Kraken Club will give you is 1-8 misses per round LOL.

rdm is B in dagger and sword, thats skill 250 at level 75 unless do you skill merit to level them.

Yeah, dreaming is nice i doubt, unless there is a dedicated LS that really really really favors someone of a leader type status, anyone would get this sword, the upgrades are simply too expensive... but dreaming is nice.. just think...

Actually, once fully upgraded, any relic weapon can do it's weapon skill anywhere. You're talking about the 3rd form of the relic weapon, in which you can only do the weapon skill in Dynamis.

The fact is nobody has this sword.. not anyone.. nobody.. people have been trying but it costs like 60 million gil to attain all the items you need for the upgrades.. so.. you can dream.. but your not gona get it. EVER.

He also has a fishing rod + tathlum and a pole and shield. This guy is absolutely incredible.

Just curious what lvl you have to be to aquire the Relic Sword and start the upgrade process. The weapons list shows it as lvl 75, is this right?
As far as I know, all the relic weapons in all their forms are level 75.
I don't believe that you necessarily have to be level 75 to acquire the Relic sword. However, I can't imagine heading to any Dynamis at a level significantly below 75, though I think you can enter at 65.

Unfortunately Excalibur is rare/ex if im not mistaken so it can't be sold. Also im sure its a fantastic rdm weapon, but if youre looking for raw damage a rdm/nin with kraken club/enhancing sword would probably do more. I have two chars.. Just achieved DRK with my Elvaan, and have more or less stopped playing him.. Enjoying my Taru RDM far too much.

who wants to sell their Excalibur!?!? !

Is this, the mother of all swords for Rdm, 2 handed or not. Cause i wuz tryin to make my Future Char with the Profile characters on this site, and i tried havin my 75Rdm equip this and a shield, but it wouldnt let me. So im wonderin, is this a 2handed weapon, or can u use a shield with it?

That's about 3x the fellow's current HP! About the strength of three MB'ed ancient magics at once. Blimey. I would be afraid to use it at 300% TP for fear of getting aggro.

2800dmg isn't that much for a lvl 75 (maybe for a pld), but as a lvl 50blm hume, i MB for 1.1k dmg with freeze, and have you ever seen slug shot or sidewinder?

3 mbed ancient magics at once... not exactly. At level 50 with the lowest ancient magic, I have mbed for 1.2k before. Imagine a blm at level 75 with flare... Maybe about 1 MB or so
Not that it matters in this thread but AM's don't get all that much stronger... A level 75 BLM bursting Flare isn't going to do 3k+

I've seen how Excalibur looks like and the Knights WS. The sword itself looks sick. Maybe the best designed sword (visually) in the game IMO. As for the WS basically think how Fast Blade looks only this time a 'spirit circle' appears around you on the floor. Then like these spirits come out of the ground and hit the target as you strike it with the sword. Its not so spectacular as I had expected but still a new skill to play with. Unforunately I do not know how much damage was caused to the target since I had damage filters up.

This has to be the pimpest sword I've ever seen. It'll probably be a year or two until I obtain it, but hey, we can dream. Also, that pic of the AF2 with the Excalibur is so pimp. Can anyone say wet dream?

the only problem i see with getting this sword with my pld is having to give up a Gluttony Sword for it, wich in turn leaves me without the +7 vit, which being a pld is primary over anything else. I could see how the dmg in turn would help keep hate and all, but its still a difficult choice to make...unless i get both i suppose, any opinions on this?
LMAO, If you are using a gluttony sword at level 75 I think you need to have your head examined. If you are tanking an HNM with a sword, I promise it wont be for the +vit on it.
If you are tanking an HNM you use Earth/Terra Staff. IF you are fortunate enough to have a sword with +elements you can use those for their specific HNMs (fire++ >> Fafnir, etc)
Any PLD who has Excalibur will use it to tank HNMs Because the w/s Knights of Round will deal Damage depending on HP. To a PLD in full Koenig Armor, at full HP would likely hit an hnm (or any mob) for 1400+ damage, which is insanely notable, especially for an HNM.
Anyone who puts the effort into upgrading this weapon... well, lets just say if I ever get exclibur, I doubt I will ever take it off... haha.

ehm..this is the ultimate sword for a pld or a rdm...if i could get it..for sure i wouldnt say no.yea true,u have to give up ure gluttony..but what u get is

hmm do you realize what youre saying, youre lv 12 probably have like 10 k of not less in your inventory . to 75 you probably have liek 2-3 months if you play everyday at least 6-8 hr. Yet to upgrade excalibur you got to spend about 50+ million. So i think by 2006 maybe you can post here....

If you don't want a bad rating, don't make posts like that... they are annoying and childish, and for the record, its a FREAKING GAME!!! the whole point is to be able to do what you want with your character, don't give people crap because they have "inferior" equipment or a "worse" subjob than yours.
Has anyone done any quest for upgrading any relic weapons?
I have a group heading to Dynamis-Windurst next week after Bastok. My chances on getting the Relic sword is small since its a pld and rdm weapon.
