I saw an Amigo Sabotender in Kuftal Tunnel looking for my coffer for AF. :/ I dono why the beast would use something that pricy there. He was in a party fighting many robber crabs at a time.

It requires a Philosopher's Stone, no wonder I can hardly ever find them. I bought 5 from a JP friend as soon as I hit 75 a couple months ago and have used two. In that time I've only seen 2 more come up on AH. My LS has killed Cactrot Rapido several times and have gotten the root needed for this (as well as the 7 million gil bow, heh) now I guess I need to find some Philosopher's Stones.

The right reciepe for this item is

Cactuar Root
Philosopher's Stone
Mercury
Beastman Blood

It caps at lvl100 not 99.

normal yield = 1
HQ1 = 2
HQ2 = 3
HQ3 = 4

Tried to send correction mail but it seems something isn't working.

Is there any other broth with a high level pet? lvl 70 etc. I'm fascinated by how BST can solo things that takes an entire party of 6 to accomplish. It was my first advanced job but RDM seemed a lot fun when I got Refresh and convert. I think I will finish BST until lvl 75 so I can stop shouting in Jeuno for help.

this is the perfect NM pet, too bad it costs so much but so you all know fighting sobotenders in the desert, if you are using a pet and stay far enough away, you will not get hit by 1000 or 10,000 needles,
just thought I would clear that up and no roots droped yet jsut tons of needles, get board so though I would see what I could make drop

Actually, you will rarely see BSTs use this, and it has little to do with the money involved in purchasing it. The problem is, this NM pet is level 75, just like the BST. Which means that he won't stay out very long, when compared to the other NM pets. This pet is mainly just for showing off and messing around. :) Even the richest BSTs still use pets like Courier Carrie and Panzer Galahad for serious fights.

mysterytour says it needs beastmans blood, not dragon blood, that it is a level 100 recipie, not 99, and that it can be hq'd for 2, 3, or 4 per synth.
Would hate to lose synth on this ><

Stoneskin does absorb part of the damage. Also, physical damage down items like jelly ring or earth staff affect how much is taken.

I.e. if you're wearing ring and staff when 1000 needles is used, you're only taking 750 points of dmg.
RE: damage
# Dec 06 2004 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
the dmg of 1000 needles is 1k dmg/the #of people including pets in ur pt/alliance. so if u have an alliance of 16 drg all with their pets u will only take like 30 dmg
RE: damage
# Oct 28 2004 at 3:04 PM Rating: Decent
Just a Side note, If you happen to be fighting cactuars with your wyvern, summoned pet, or beast, they will absorb half of the overall damage.
What.

You can't dodge 1000 needles or stop it in anyway.
However it subtracts 1 point of damage per buff. Won't help much but never the less that's how it works.

Yeild is one. Ingredients are way expensive. They only sell for 100k on my server (Gilgamesh), which is rediculous considering the price of dragon's blood is 500k. I'm guessing people don't make these to sell them.

# Jul 08 2004 at 3:50 AM Rating: Decent
So he does 1,000 needles? Lets say to make this might cost up to 1 mil gil. It lasts for 15 mins (Doesn't all monsters that are called using jugs last 15 mins). If only it was 10,000 needles 1 hour.
It be the ultimate catuar

However, Stoneskin absorbs it. ˆˆ

Also, damage is divided among party members.
