Tried to make this with 70 cooking. No HQ... Smiley: frown

It was waterday, so maybe I should wait till lightning day and try again. Just sucks; I wanted to use this jug pet so bad!

does each summon use a jug, meaning are they consumable items? or is there a chance to lose them?

i've read a lot of topics/forums concerning why bsts use CC lots and while people say 'it's the best jug to use' others have said other reasons. CC caps to 75 while other jugs cap lower ... i'm not sure if other NM jugs cap at 75 but CC is the cheapest and easiest to attain/make. i've read people's posts on concerning crab jug vs. cc and bsts have said there isn't much of a difference between the 2 at lower lvls. just what i've read, not my opinion :P just a heads up!

I've used both pre-55 and have noticed no difference.

However, at level 64, Carrie kicks a lot more *** than her generic level 55 crab friends.

Unfathomably cute art (I think from the FFXI fan festival) of a Tarutaru and CourierCarrie.

ok from what ive gathered, CC is a NM crab that levels with you to 75, its powerful... would it be the same as a MNK as a same level as you? STR wise? or would it be like Ex. 15 BST and 25 CC? Oh! and can this de-charm and turn on you?

They won't turn on you, but they will de-charm. Sort of anyway. After so long they just simply disappear and you have to recall them.

With 86 cooking skill I can HQ these almost every time with 2 Bluetail and 1 water crystal.
Bluetail cost more from AH but since I catch them while I'm skilling up fishing I can make them for the cost of a stack of water crystals.
I just made them as a test to see how well I could HQ them. If they sell well, I might make them more often.

Never used these myself, but I have 95+1+1 (just need hocho) and I get a lot of requests from my BST friends to craft these. Apparently, they're one of the best jug pets.

I've seen Courrier Carrie... what is it? It's so weirdly shaped... how is it related to Fish?

It's a crab carrying jugs on its back. There are spikes hammered into her shell and the jugs are tied to the spikes with rope.

The name is a play-on-words, because 'Carrie' is a name, and a courier 'carries' things.

As for fish... the items used to call 'jug pets' are jugs of food that attract each particular species. Fish Broth is apparantly something a Crab would eat (at least in Vana'diel) so it calls the NQ CrabFamiliar. The HQ is just a variation, "Fish Oil Broth," and calls CC.

What is a Courier Carrie? I would like to know.
RE: huh?
# Sep 14 2004 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Its a jug pet that bst can call. The reason everyone uses these at the higher levels is because, unlike other jug pets, this one levels all the way to 75 with you.
RE: huh?
# Jul 09 2005 at 11:49 AM Rating: Decent
ok if this HQ jugs familiar lvls, to 75 anyone know what the other ones do, or where to look it up. and why iswarm meat broth the HQ for meat broth and you cant use it at 28 (its at 50 somethin) like you can meat broth

My HQ success increased by switching the day I craft these.

With 86 cooking skill, during darksday I usually
only HQ'ed 1/4 of the combines. Until I decided to try making them during lightning day and noticed a significant increase of HQ combines. This, of course, caused me to craft these only on lightning days from there on.

for some reason this recipe is a lot harder to HQ then others. I am HQing lvl 50 recipes more frequently than this and i am currently lvl 80 cooking. I get about 1 in 3 or 4 tries.
RE: hmm
# Aug 14 2004 at 1:50 PM Rating: Decent
Rare, it's really hard, even if you're at 57 cooking to get HQ's frequently.
