Why do ppl put down WHM for solo -.-?... I soloed a T+ (Tough .. seems to have low eva but high def)Lama in Bibiki Bay. 50% is gear ... 50% is skill ... -.-; Gear that I used for this cow was the purg, DS+1, Nobles, Blessed(hands, legs, and feet), 2x Snipper's, Eva torque, Life Belt, Turban, Elusive earring, Astral earring, Dodge cape and a heg bomb. For /equip WS I used Flame rings for hexa and Aqua for Black Halo and no I didnt cheat with a TP wing :p. I also macroed in other Str gear such as AF Mitts, Spike Necklace (Only for Hexa) MND gives more dam to Black Halo and if ppl say diff -.- then go macro some MND/STR for Black Halo then do it with just STR gear .. outcome .. more dam with MND -.-; ... Its easy to solo as WHM/NIN if you use ur spells at the right time.. Para, Slow, Dia II, Haste, Pro/shell, Utsusemi ichi/ni .. Stoneskin/Flash -.- since u want to use Flash to apply ur stoneskin .. don't use shadows then cast Skin -.- if the mob double att's while u r casting Skin.. >.> may lead to death ... or u can Shadows/Flash/Skin .. lol I know most WHM'S know this but this is for the up and coming WHM/NIN's in the game :D .. at the end my STR is 70+35 with Hexa MND is 72+ 30MND/15STR for Halo .. um yea im elv. >.> .. lol I hope this helps a few ppl out I can add more but I am at work and I don't wanna get cought D:!!! Has anyone else ever experienced Plantoid Killer with this? Since getting one I've intimidated Cactuars quite a bit. It's the only piece of gear I could imagine having a hidden effect. Maybe Genbu's Shield but I've had that for months and it's never kicked in.

I also have a Purgatory Mace, and haven't noticed any killer effects that come with it. It's probably because of a food effect that you had.

I've seen this a couople of places so I will mention it here:
Ginger cookies supposedly have plantoid killer.
My guess is your ginger cookie was still in effect.

I solo tough bones in Gustav tunnel with this club and darksteel maul +1 /NIN.

They're really easy as long as you don't get a link. fun exp,too, 100 a kill while you're lfp or something

i think i'm gonna try to solo an avatar, now lol since someone else said they did it, and i haven't tried yet

I think u guys are a lil crazy. I dont mind doing some soloing but I would not solo no DC as a WHM. I have my wife who is a RDM and if I deside to go out and have some fun ill take her for the <refresh> effect. I would have to say a WHM/ and RDM/ in a team would make a better sense than to go out and have RR2 or RR3 just to solo something. I say this being a lvl 70 WHM and soloing all my GIL farming.

Now for Skellies they my <Bio>tches I can take down even Stalkers pretty Easy with WHM/NIN > SS, Blink, Ichi <~ no MP, Haste.

I just bought this along with Utsu: Ni (finally!) and went to test both out on Steelshells in Boyahda Tree. My club skill is kinda low for a 74whm, just hitting 230. I dualed the Purgatory Mace with a Darksteel Maul and found the mace did quite a bit more damage than the maul, average maybe 15-20% more. Quite a few times where it'd do double even, neither club for a crit. Oddly though it did seem to crit more with the mace than the maul, but stun hardly ever fired, maybe once every 3-4 crabs. I was soloing these too btw and DC's were pretty easy, though EM's and T's had to be zoned for the most part. I did manage to take down one T for 130xp. If my club was capped--a little over 250 for lv74--T's should be pretty routine to take down.

As for soloing avatars, I should try that; it'd definitely be fun^^.

This i would say is pretty high on my list of items to get. i play whm/nin a lot for soloing. this+ a Kraken club... hexa super spamage lol. and yeah whm is a very powerful job at solo. most people don't believe it until i show them how to solo a avatar. well all but fenrir obviously. i do avatars for 50k each. its not bad gil maker.

Why not lv RDM and do some REAL soloing? =P

Nice mace BTW, I'd still rely on a trusty sword or 2 if I'm playing by myself =/

A very nice mace. Its a shame that it drops from one of the toughest BCs in the game. I had tried it out and found that the damage wasn't that much more than the Darksteel Maul and Stun wasn't as often as I would have liked to see it. Very nice, but it's the fact that it is such a difficult item to attain that drives the cost up. One thing to note is that I did notice that stun was kicking in on skeletons every time I crit'ed. Not nearly as often on other mobs. I wouldn't doubt this effect would apply to other undead, too, but I didn't test it.

I'm a 67 WHM, and I can solo high easy prey skeletons fairly easy for 36-43 exp because of Hexa Strike. The fight can get a little ugly sometimes... usually if the skeleton uses Sleep or Hell Slash at a bad time... Quick run down on how I do it...

Stoneskin: Keep it up at ALL times. This is what keeps you alive.

Flash: Very important to use this spell. Cast it when Stoneskin wears off, the mob will almost never hit you for the next few seconds, and it will give you enough time to recast Stoneskin.

Blink: This usually doesn't last long enough to warrant casting it constantly, but it's good to use if Hell Slash takes Stoneskin away too fast and you need time before you can recast.

Haste/Protect/Shell/Aquaviel: Very helpful to have these up, but if you are going to use them, use them before the fight begins. Don't blow MP on these mid-battle.

Slow: Required vs the warrior type skeletons. Not really needed vs the mages.

Paralyze: Extremely important.

Dia/Dia II: Also useful, but I'd size up your MP situation before you decide if you should keep Dia II up at all times.

Erase: Use to get rid of Bio and Slow.

Hexa Strike: Use it everytime you get 100 TP. This WS crushes Skeletons for 500-1100 damage at level 67.

Stuff that sucks: BLM skeletons have a habit of doing this after you recast Stoneskin: Sleep II, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit (stoneskin weakened greatly now, you are still asleep), Quake/Freeze/Flood/Tornado.

WAR skeletons hit pretty hard and fast. When they use Hell Slash, it's almost always "bye bye Stoneskin" which can make the fight ugly for a few seconds.

I've also soloed easy prey Magic Pots, Quadavs, Yagudo and Manticores using this method, and even some decent challenges (worms in quicksands).

Just like to add that if you do get slept with stoneskin on, just turn it off and get yourself awake sooner, rather then going through all the trouble of waking up slowly and getting hit with a big AM spell.

That's a very ignorant response... I solo EP and DC fairly easily at 68 and 69 both with Hexa Strike.
