If you need any of these, and you are on Asura server, I have 27 I will be selling.

The AH as of 15 August 2005 is selling them singularly for 90k.

Stacks have not been sold at a stable price yet.

I will be willing to sell a stack for 700k though

send me an ingame /tell if you want them.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2005 at 3:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So we got a person who is bring Gilsellers into Dynamis on Cait sith named Ryudo. They are trying to sell currency for 50k per single unit and 5mil per 100 unit. Well I guess Relic weapons will become harder to get if you plan on buying currency and items from these FOOLS.

To make steel as strong as possible you need carbon, this is extracted from wood. Thus the Rosewood lumber needed.

It's actually a term taken from real life. (Go figure.) If you've ever heard of Damascus steel, that's wootz. This fine weapon producing establishment uses new technology to reproduce this high quality material for use in their forge.

How odd that they put wood into an ingot. I wonder if I could get a splinter off this thing...

Anyways, thanks for posting the info on this ingot, it is nice to have people willing to do more than stamp their name. =/

Also to add to this genious elowan who is probally an insane organic chem major hahaha. Rosewood Lumber is GREAT material for making instruments, it alows sweat and dirt in your hands to seek into the cracks and really fill it up. Rosewood is a rare wood but you can find them on some good Warwick basses (mine ) ^^ Thanks just a side note cause i am a dork

I actually posted this already on the wootz ore page a while back, but I'll do it again here, should clear up the confusion over this "strange" set of ingredients.

Wootz steel, as it was called, was prepared as sponge (porous) iron in a unit not unlike a bloomery. The product was hammered while hot to expel slag, broken up, then sealed with wood chips in clay containers and heated until the pieces of iron absorbed carbon and melted, converting it to steel of homogeneous composition containing 1 to 1.6 percent carbon. The steel pieces could then be heated and forged to bars for later use in fashioning articles, such as the famous Damascus swords made by medieval Arab armourers.

Hence the reason the rosewood is in the recipe - the woodchips bake into charcoal (nearly pure carbon), which is then absorbed into the steel.

See, it all makes sense ^^

Once again, hooray for submissions where someone stamps their name on a picture and that's the extent of what they do. -_-

Recipe:

Fire Crystal

Wootz Ore
Steel Ingot
Rosewood Lumber

Veteran Level Smithing is currently assumed to be the minimum, although it is not confirmed as of yet. Wootz ore drops in Dynamis-Bastok and is sold by the gobbie merchant outside Beadeaux. Even then it's highly treasured so you're unlikely to see any of this on the AH anytime soon. The ingot is used to upgrade certain relic weapons (namely, the relic Great Axe and Maul) and as such can be expected to sell for a small fortune. Happy hunting.
