as a monk/war i get ALOAD OF HATE and i leaded to change all my equiptment to get on the tanking side safely( take off sniper ring, orchuido's kote, bettle earrings +1, jujitsu gi and replace them with shinobi armor phalanx rings, and dodge earrings)
my ochuido's kote isnt the best defensive armory avaliable, so i just wanted 2 know how much is this beauty in your servers

These would be great for a MNK/WAR... Sub-Tanking power!
Only 2 known pieces of hand armor have more defense than this: Kaiser Handschuhs (+1 abjuration armor, normal abjuration of same set has same def), and Rune Bangles (when latent effect is active.
A DRK could get some nice defense with a Heavy Cuirass and these things (for whatever odd reason he may want more defense over other things).

I'm a Blackmage and I play one on tv.
My ls is intending to track Diamond Dieg down in the next couple weeks and have a go at him for these bangles, for me.
Why? when obviously my Wizard's Gloves are just so sexy?
BCNM60 and BCNM Missions. Virtually my sole job in these spots is Sleeping the mobs, and Keeping them slept, 30def is very very very handy for giving me that extra.2s to resleep them if need be.
And remeber its 37.5 defense with the food I use

As said, too much DEF and not enough drawback. Plus, unless it's different in different versions, I've never seen a background that black before. Gamma adjustment? Don't think so.
if u go to config > windows, u can change ur window to one of eight different patterns and colors, this is one of them i think.
I did a bit more digging and did find this on Mystery Tour. How odd that something this powerful is really in the game.
MT says this is dropped by "Diamond Dieg" in Quicksand caves, so I have to wonder how many souls of newbie you must offer up to get this...

Well, it's is rare/ex which means you cannot buy it... it must be either quested, or dropped... I'm betting on a NM drop, so the negative you speak of is probably that you have to camp a level 70 NM or something like that to get them... thinking along the lines of moldivite earrings, shaman's cloak, and carbuncle mitts (all Rare/Ex items) these won't be easy to get, and not something you could expect to solo for sure
....As you've said, it's rare/ex, meaning cost wouldn't really be a factor...
My guess is it's just really hard to get, like it drops from a high-level NM or something (ie Carbuncle Mitts, great for a level 20 SMN, but it's rare/ex and only drops from a high-level NM)
