Level 30 Subjob Items

There are level 30 Earrings, Shields, Belts and Mantles that all trigger on Latent Effects. These all correspond with a job.
All of them activate via Subjob. Nothing else will trigger these to activate, NOT main job, ONLY subjob.
The newest jobs (Blu, Cor, Pup) do not have these items (as of 7/27/06).
Subjob: Bard - Singer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Song Belt)
Subjob: Beastmaster - Trimmer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Pick Belt)
Subjob: Black Mage - Wizard's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Staff Belt)
Subjob: Dark Knight - Killer (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Scythe Belt)
Subjob: Dragoon - Wyvern (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Lance Belt)
Subjob: Monk - Wrestler's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Cestus Belt)
Subjob: Ninja - Genin (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Sarashi)
Subjob: Paladin - Esquire's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Shield Belt)
Subjob: Ranger - Beater's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Gun Belt)
Subjob: Red Mage - Warlock's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Rapier Belt)
Subjob: Samurai - Ashigaru (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Katana Obi)
Subjob: Summoner - Magician's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Avatar Belt)
Subjob: Thief - Pilferer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Dagger Belt)
Subjob: Warrior - Mercenary's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Axe Belt)
Subjob: White Mage - Healer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Mace Belt)

There are other Latent effect items that trigger at different things such as Low HP, <100% tp, a bard song on you, This is NOT one of those items.
The only thing that activates these items is your subjob.

I think people in my server still dont realize that this and other "Latten: Effect" Capes and Earings that are Lv.30 are subjob based...

Is there a way Allakhazam could put it on the item's description? Like...

Note: The Wyvern Mantle's Latten effect Only activates with "DRAGOON" as your current subjob.

It would really cut down prices and help those people understand that this doesnt activate in low HP, etc. Also more will be on stock for the people who actually NEED them, IMO that being:

MNK, RDM, THF, SAM, DRK, WAR.

being the only ones who would actually sub dragoon without being Gimp.
(Only certain levels).

hope some people read this..
Hmm..

Thf/drg is as quite nice choice at certain lvls (around the 30's) for the fact that if you can get all of the Wyvern latent effect items, you get some pretty nice +haste and +attack. Stuff that helps a thf quite a bit if they have high dex and agi. You get near constant attacks if you can get your +haste high enough and a bit more dmg to work with with the +attack and attack bonus trait. Not to mention the fact that with the +haste gear, you can have almost non stop attacking PLUS a shield. People always argue about if using a single dagger or dual wielding is faster or does more dmg. In this situation it would be single dagger for non stop attacking :]
Do you sub Drg alot?

I'll pay 200k for this if someone on Siren will sell me one. Just send a /tell to Danita.
Thank you.
<edit1>
I fully understand this is for /drg only. This is for when I lvl my mnk from 30 to 55 and for my wife's use as mnk/drg during 30 and 40 capped events (since she's over 55mnk already). :)
</edit1>
<edit2>
On Siren at the time of my post there was only ever one sold for 100k. Finally after hoping to see one since February, I was able to buy one for....300k! Shortly after I bought it someone sent me a tell to sell me a second and I told him to put his up for 300k - he sold it to someone else in minutes, lol. Anyway, at least my wife can finally get the full use out of her /drg sub (during 30 cap ENMs) since we already had her Wyvern Earring (got it when it was 6k and nobody thought /drg was good, now I see it selling for ~600k).

I have one of these. The latent effect activates when hp goes to yellow. It is a good back armor at level 30 considering the alternatives. They sell for around 400k on Diabolos.

The Latten Effect -DOES NOT- Activate with Yellow HP. This is one of the "new" Lv.30 Items that require you to Sub the correct job in order to activate the Latten affect INSTANTLY......In this case, can you guess it?

Dragoon Subjob. ..
(hence the name of the mantle: Wyvern Mantle)

Try subbing Dragoon and equiping this and you will see the effect WILL be Instant.

It would be interesting if Dragoons had gear whose latent effect activated when their wyvern gets into extremely low HP or gets killed...

Kinda like a Wyvern piece that has a latent effect of say, Attack +20, Accuracy +10, STR +5 that activates when your wyvern either has grievously low HP or gets killed.

That would be cool.

If I got +20 Att, +10 Acc and +5 STR when my Wyvern is dead, I simply wouldn't summon it - or just kill it on purpose.

I think it's a good idea to make those excellent Latent Effects kick in only when Wyvern is at low health, say, 1/4 or less.

That, sir, is something a Dragoon would never do.

How do you get this mantle? It is not in the AH. If i can get a hand on this i can figure out if the latent effect works with DRG as your main job.

Does anyone know how to activate the latent effect on this mantle? I know item's latent effect is activated by having a certain sub job or your HP being in the red. Is this one sub job based?

As with the other level 30 "Wyvern" equipment, you need to sub Dragoon to get the latent effect.

ppl forget how useful thf can be subbed lvls 60+ with SA and TA any dmg dealer can get a big boost of power, not to mention the nice DEX boost, as for drg, during some of the early lvls i constantly partied with my cousin (lvl 41 drg now). during lvls 10-25 his wyvern was dealing as much if not more then some other party members. His wyvern added with his own attack deals some nasty dmg, and higher lvls his wyvern still does a lot of dmg but can no longer out dmg other party members, however, he still outdmgs most DDs, who ever says drg is useless should try ptying with a well equiped one and pay attention to how much they out dmg everyone else
DRG

i agree with brotherauron, 8 times out of 10 i find my self inviting dragoons instead of dark knights when i build exp parties as they are perfectly suited to exploiting elemental weaknesses(breath attacks etc) plus their wyvern is like having an extra mini party member.

Problem with Ragnarok, and im sure most other servers, they dont like to see a drg, anywhere, which is fcked up imo i see nothing wrong with it, infact its the most versitle job out there, DRG can solo just as easy as bst, if you sub whm 5mp can buy you 300HP same with blm and all you have to do is wait until you have 2/3-1/2 HP and your fine, at 61 i can solo cactaurs no problem, so what ever you say, about drg being gimp or whatever, i wont blame you for saying it, its just what everyone says, and your probobly going along with it, but truth be told, i out hit drk most of the time, and theirs only 1 time i ever got matched hit for hit, and that was my friend Elfo, who is a really cool guy, but he only matched my hits, he didnt beat my hits :D we were taking out crabs at 58 and we were both hitting for 100-110 and he had 1 level on me :D

as for subing, its not meant to be sub'd because drg is meant to use a subjob to determine how you fight, if you go /melee its ws spam if its /mage then you can be main healer in a pt

Yeah, the problem is Drg is a perfect sub, but only from 20-30. It offers more then any of the other jobs at that level. An attack Bonus and a free attack every minute and a half.(Jump) I would sub drg from 20-30 with any Melee class that is meant purely for dishing out damage.

Subbing war you get: Defense Boost, Provoke. Voke is good in a pinch to keep someone alive I suppose. Defense boost...well..if you arent a tank this doesnt mater.
RE: This would be a good cape...
# Aug 24 2004 at 7:08 AM Rating: Default
Defense Boost is more useful than you think. in fact, right now, it's getting me more parties at level 61 as a damage dealer. i was told yesterday while levelling in the Valley that the leader of the group likes exp'ing with WAR's so much better than darks, because we can actually take a few hits.

if you want to talk damage dealer for all out damage and think an extra attack every minute and a half is ok for a sub, why not sub DRK then? youll get attack bonuses, not to mention the use of magic which, if you have enough spells, can be used quite a bit more often than every minute and a half.

He said between 20 and 30... not 61. Everyone knows War is an awesome sub for melees at high levels... that's kind of a no-brainer, but as the man said, Defense Boost isn't worth much to anyone between level 20 and 30... unless you're tanking.

MNK and SAM are the only 2 jobs i can see benefiting from DRG subjob.

Jump: When it lands it gives away Free Damage and TP.

SAM's Jump is good since his main weapon Has great damage, and Jump's Damage is Based on your Main weapons DMG.

Now as for MNK's, we dont have the Best Main weapon DMG, BUT!!! We Have Boost! You can Stack Boost to make a pretty damn Power full Jump, that ranging from 29-95 DMG(DMG i got at lv.20-30 MNK/DRG) depending on amount of Boost.

Attack Bonus Trait: This is very Sexy, what ***MELEE*** Doesnt want more power?

And thats all you get for Lv.20-29......now Beyond 30+ is where DRG subjob gets Interesting, because These jobs both Gain access to Haste Gear. And This Sexy, Very Appealing Gear comes into Play....taht being:

"Wyvern Mantle": +5% Haste with DRG subjob.
"Wyvern Earring": +6 Attack with DRG subjob.

So Imagine a MNK/DRG at lv.40:

+16% Haste Active at all times. (BB.FUMA,EARRING)
ATK Trait.(+10 ATK)
Attack Mantle. (+6 ATK)
Jump to get more TP and Damage in. (Extra Damage Every 1:30 when it lands.)

So Imagine a SAM/DRG at lv.40:

+8% Haste Active at all times. (FUMA+EARRING)
ATK Trait.(+10 ATK)
Attack Mantle. (+6 ATK)
Jump to get more TP and Damage in. (Extra Damage Every 1:30 when it lands.)

With Sooo Much ATK you can nearly say that you almost say you nearly capped your DMG (....lie), But It makes good use of all that Extra STR you might have, thus making you powerfuler(<--- not a real word). This Subjob mainly would consern those who ARENT SA+TA partners, and are just that DD for the Party that just wants TP and Damage.

RE: This would be a good cape...
# Dec 13 2005 at 11:16 AM Rating: Decent
i agree.. I'm MNK48 i can see why this would kickass, but i doubt u'd get many party invites, oh well i'll try it ^^. I'll switch back to /WAR at 50 for double attack, but damn that would be nice cheap +haste gear. I personnally would kick ATK for ACC, but the haste >:D, monk is built off haste :D.
