Good Profit Synth

uhm, these are good arrows to make for profit, let alone skill up. I can tier 2 these babies. 8k for a steel ingot, 2k for a taurus horn, that will yield 2-3 stacks of arrows for 6 arrowheads that come from the arrowhead synth. These arrows sell for 8-9 each so that is 5k profit for every stack I sell. Not bad especially since they sell fast.
quivers wtf

why the **** werent these arrows also allowed to be turned into quivers.....
Shell Hell
# Mar 30 2006 at 4:27 AM Rating: Decent
As a 58 RNG, Bodkins(all arrows as a matter of fact) are crap against shell type mobs.. I have tried all RATT (including Shakeer Aketon sp) gear and still do **** damage. Let me attack something soft and squishy.. like a bat.. and I do serious damage. (And yes I have used Yellow Curry and Squid sushi). I have not done any real, long term fights against "bone" type critters yet though. Not many parties are up for a Skeleton mob fight :)

Yes I also know about guns and shells .. lol

Bodkin Arrows were developed in medieval times to break through armor and cause a good amount of damage. This might lend some light to the rumored hidden effects.

Just let me put like this, Against a Bodkin Arrow, Plate Armor is about as good as running naked through a garden of needles.

I thought thats what crossbows were made for? Armor piercing. They just didnt have the same range as a long bow.

Crossbows were made so that you could turn a farmer into a soldier in a quarter of the time it would take to train him with a bow.

yes yes, that's very nice, but the longbow was important because any farmer could not only break through plate armor, but could make one himself on his own time. None of that having to know the local weapon smith to make the mechanical parts for the x-bow. I agree that it takes less time to train on x-bows though. XD Point and click
Damage against bones?

One poster mentioned that the blunt damage vs. skele's and other bone types has now been adjusted. Any chance that somebody could confirm this with tests??? Like 50 shots vs skele with scorps, 50 shots with bodkins, and parse the damage numbers?? If it's true, this will really suck for Rng...

I can confirm this too. After 24 crafts and no skillups, I'm convinced it's a 68 craft.

That's suck!
Why we need to suffer a loss for skill up ; ;
And that's why there are so few armored arrowhead in the AH now as we, as woodworking crafter dun bother to buy it for a loss..

These sell for 15K/stack. Arrowheads are 40k/stack IF you can find them.

even at 40k/stack, you're still looking at a 15k profit if you don't have any breaks.

I levelled Bonecraft and Smithing just so I could make these arrowheads, and judging by the prices, I'm glad I did.

I hope more people will get access to Tavnazian Archipelago soon... Bodkin Arrows and armored arrowhead prices are cloned from demon arrowheads, with the difference that taurus horns go for 5k, not 13k like demon horns... With other words, to make demon and bodkin arrows it takes 48k ingredients, but get 36k back from AH.

Buyer markets suck for crafters looking for skill-ups u_u

Correction: prices on stacks of bodkin arrows have dropped to 7k, and are dropping even further...

Same; I didn't get any skillups either. (and it was darksday too!) so I think the cap may be 68

these no longer have a higher damage rating on bones, than normal arrows. the last maintenance must have fixed this 'glitch'.

I think some people in this thread have already mentioned this, but I wanted to make it specific. You need black chocobo *fletchings* for this recipe, not feathers.

Yes, it has been shown that these arrows take away the disadvantage Rangers had against bone-type mobs (~50% last I knew). However, don't be fooled, that doesn't GIVE you the 50% advantage Monks have, it just equals you up. It does, though, explain the price difference.

I never heard that. just out of curiostiy, where did you hear/read that these arrows work better against skellies? I might not be as reluctant when fighting the pirates on the boat from Selbina to Mhaura. :P

scam
# Sep 23 2004 at 1:53 PM Rating: Default
Do not get scammed by the ppl trying to sell the arrowheads for 100k, only difference between these arrows and scorpion arrows is 4 damage!!! and 6 lvl cap to craft them (59 cap for scorpion 65 cap for bodkin) although info for cap on bodkin is new.

IMO if scorpion arrowheads go for 3.5k in jeuno then these should sell for around 4k-6k, although I do not know the value of tauros horn.

Sorry for misspells and punctuation

edit: another difference between the arrows is lvl to use scorpion 40 bodkin 50 although im sure I didnt need to post that I wanted to be as accurate as possible

I love this idea. Hitherto all Genkai parties were... reluctant(to put it nicely)... to admit Ranger's to their group. Fair? No. True? Yes. They all want Monks, and while I have much respect for monks and the damage they can dish out when they want to, I still believe that Ranger as a main is way too expensive to get stopped at 50 lol. This Bodkin Arrow level's the playing field somewhat. Bodkin Arrows deal BLUNT damage(Ring a bell? HTH Weapons?). Anyways this means that we can do good damage versus an undead enemy, Ex: Lich... Anyways, it really is nice to have,m even if they are a little pricey, but that is the reason they are so much, they are not rlly meant to be used in regular combat :p.
RE: scam
# Sep 23 2004 at 4:16 PM Rating: Decent
The cap for them is 69, as far as most people have said.

I have been reading that these do full damage against bone based creatures. Is this true?? If so this arrow just became my favorite arrow in the game!
RE: Bones??

these arrows supposid hidden "defensive peircing" effect has been tested against bone creatures already. from what that person said, the difference in damage is considerable, around 50% more

I've made several stacks of these arrows already. The description says DMG:28 Delay:90 Rnaged Accuracy+5, no mention what so ever of weather conditions.

I skilled up from 64 to 67.5 on these, would guess they cap at 69 like demon arrows.
