Most of these items needed to make this item can be farmed and crafted for very low costs.

Clothcraft (26)
Leathercraft (20)
Yield: 1

* Crystal: Earth
* Cotton Cloth x3
* Linen Cloth x2
* Sheep Leather x1
* Wool Thread x1

Cotton Cloth drops off of Bogy/Ghost type monsters fairly commonly

Linen Cloth can be desynthed from Tonberry Coats, dropped almost all the time from Tonberry mobs, albeit at an alarming break rate.

Sheep Leather can also be desynthed from Goblin Masks, dropped by any goblin, and have a slight chance to break.

Wool Thread can be desynthed from Gigas Socks, which drop fairly commonly from Gigas/Giant mobs, and at least to me, hardly break.

I farm Cotton Cloth in Tahrongi Canyon from Ghosts, Linen Cloth from the Tonberrys near Sozu Rogberry and Sozu Sarberry spawns, Goblin Masks from Outer Horototo Ruins near the Spiny Spipi camp in East Sarutabaruta, and Gigas Socks from any and all giants inside Lower Delkfutts Tower, however, I get more socks from the Gigas on the top 3 floors, on which you'd find the 3 infamous NMs, Enkelados, Pallas, and Alkyoneus.

Hope this helps a few of you make Seer's Tunics without ever having to pay for material costs again^^;

what lvl
# Oct 27 2006 at 7:33 PM Rating: Decent
as a whm, you'll use this until you get your AF, believe it or not...most of the other gear between will give better def, but that +1mp regen while resting is unbeatable....you'll actually want to keep it until you can get errent at 72, and trade it out with other gear while resting....for def/other bonuses, use what you will, but hold onto this until you give up on being a mage completely

Square seems to want to beat down on the level 30 RDMs. I was looking through this and I thought to my self "If SMN can use this why can't RDM?" This is a travesty. RDM gets stuck with the craptastic Garish set. (Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass). RDM is better off with Centurion's and RSE. Square needs to fix this problem

WTFBBQ to this, RDM already get to wear the widest variety of armour out of nearly all the jobs, and adding Seer's Set to their **********

Ehhh...Some people want the best for their job. True RDM don't get many good pieces of equipment at level 30, but it suffices without having all of the uber pieces.

Yes. I rated you down.

For all you tarutaru Mages out there this is really good equipment. No matter what kind of mage its good for all of them. Until you get AF this is the best equipment for tarus. I've seen lvl 60+ wearing this because they dont have their AF yet.
the 'friend' discount
# Sep 06 2005 at 5:51 PM Rating: Decent
I got everything of this set except the crown for a grand total of 40k. My friend was getting a new character so insteed of being a nice and friend and giving it to me for free he had me pay 40K and from what i undestand he told me it was cheaper than what he got it for,, not as good as free but hey i wan't it and i didnt want to spend a bunch of money on it. But looking at it now i think i got jipped, it sells really cheap on Caitsith now, every mage and their mother have this set.

some friend ¬_¬

This is the current body piece for my "healer" Taru NPC. Her equipment upgrades have gone (as i remember), scale, lizard, trader (if that is the redish armor?), and now seer. She got this at around the later stage of lvl 33, and is now 34 with it still equipped. Looking at the stats, it seems great for her (b'.')b

The equipment your NPC wears has no effect on their performance. It's just for looks.

If you have good friends that have it and don't need it anymore you can borrow it or sometimes you can get it for free like I did.

I've tried making this item with:
88 Leahter
56 Cloth

When i click to synth it - I get these items can't be made / synthed ... uhh wtf ? [ I checked the recipe on Alla, mystery tour, and ffxi.somepage - same crap ]
Do I need a key item or somethig from the Clothcrafters guild ?

No idea why you got this message... I'm ~80 Cloth and 52 Leather and I HQ these alot.

I *believe* it's Cloth main/Leather sub but since I haven't gotten it from the NPC I can't promise that. However there's no way at 56 cloth you would get a "too low to synth" message. You must have just had the recipe wrong :(

I cant make the seers tunic
# Nov 27 2004 at 12:18 AM Rating: Decent
I am lvl 30 clothcraft and i cant make it. It says you need to be a novice rank to make it. Do you also have to have some leathercraft under your belt? Im so confused on this crap the only reason i did clothcraft was for this tunic and now i cant make it when im supposed to be able to.

If you read the above requirements, you must be level thirty clothcraft (pass your skill test at lv28-30 to achieve novice rank) and have level twenty leathercraft in order to make this item.

Please remember that the numbers are the cap at which you stop getting skill points, not the minimum at which you can start synthesizing these items. The likely problem was that they had no leatherworking skill. You probably need (not exactly sure how much you need) at least 5 leatherworking skill to even try this recipe.

I don't think it looks too good compared to the other 2 sets of armor they introduced. Seer's isn't even that great for the price.

This is not a level 70 clothcraft skill. The leathercraft is correct, but this item is more along the lines of lv30 clothcraft.

spose it doesnt really mattr tho since u'v been abl to craft at 23, i thought i'd just throw my 2gil tho. u all hav a good day! :)
