I just bought the Rune Blade for 350k on Unicorn.
Ok.. for the record:
The latent effect is activated only in battle and only if you have MP to drain.. it's -4MP per tick.. so as a RDM you lose 1MP/tick with refresh on. Once battle is over the latent stops and the MP drain stops.

Haven't tested anything, but basic FF knowledge here. All the Rune weapons of previous Final Fantasy games drained MP in order to do something. Such as in FF6, the Rune Blade drained MP in order to provide critical hits every swing.
One of the posters says he heard it drains MP. Its summoner usable.
I bet the latent effect requirement is "Having MP." It probably drains MP by a certain amount, until the point where you have no MP left and the latent effect de-activates.

So is it a FACT that a hidden trait on this sword is Auto-Refresh? This sword is selling for waaaaaaaaay less then 1mil on Bismark..=/ Some pld sold it to me for 250k and metioned the rumored hidden trait to me. Honestly i want to see the price of this sword spike up to 1mil+ and become high demand, so i can sell it. =p
i heard it drains mp instead. it takes away 3mp from u per a tick.
how the latent effect activate on these badboys?

I bought one of these for 1 mill when they were listed at 5 mill. thought i could make some gils....unfortunately other people in my linkshell also invested in my purchase.....i spent about 30k now just reposting it at AH....no one wants this item. seems to sell once in awhile when ever my sword as already come off AH ><
One of the rarest Strange Apparatus items. Like the other Rune weapons, I believe it has hidden effect of auto-refresh. Goes for 1 million gil on Caitsith.
