No, it's just not very popular.

The mage jobs that can equip this can also equip things with MP and stats in the same slot (i.e. Holy Ampulla and Morion Tathlum). Those are going to be more attractive to said jobs. Even though it would be beneficial to a WHM/BLM or BLM/WHM, in that it would benefit both the main and the sub, the small amount of MP is seen as more worthwhile to those classes.

Bards can also equip this. However, they cannot have both an instrument and this on at the same time. Odds are, they're going to choose instruments--bards can maintain two songs at once with an instrument equipped, and they often have bonuses to certain songs. In fact, if the +2 CHR is so important, there are even a few instruments with +CHR already on them.

As such, its only practicality is for subjobs; if a mage/mage or mage/bard (which probably won't go over very well, but that's another discussion for another time) does not want to use one of the standard choices, this will be valuable to them.

Looks like this is from BCNM 50 Idol Thoughts in Qubia Area where you fight 4 Golems with 6 people. This BCNM drops 4 level 50 throwing items, along with 2 food Abjurgations, Granite, and a Gold Ingot. The comment is that "Four Bodies use Special Attack at Same time." This probably means they use their Golem Special Attacks simultaneously, which could be devastating. - Information obtained from Mysterytour/somepage

There are some great DRG+Mage Throwing items here. It's too bad the BCNM looks so damn hard.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 24 2004 at 8:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think this would be GREAT for /brds... i think you all are nuts for not thinking so...

Two things,

It's not stackable. Sorry. :) While technically you could have 99 of these or 12 or whatever in your inventory, You cannot stack the +2CHR effect.

and I think if you have a harp or other instrument equipped you cannot equip ammo. This item may be different, but I doubt it.

Actually, you couldn't stack them because it's flagged "Rare", which means you can only ever hold one on your person, or in your Mog House at a time.

Well if you sub BRD you can't have an instrument equipped. But then again any half-level debuffs won't ever stick anyway (on IT enemies), so having extra CHR isn't very important.

actually chr is also for enfeele spells for mages so having extra chr would also help the mage's enfeebles to take hold.

Um, no. MND and INT are all that matter for spells.

{|I'm sorry|}
CHR is used for helping enfeebles stick to mobs.

# Jun 01 2005 at 10:34 AM Rating: Decent
How do you know that CHR is taken into account with enfeebles?
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 15 2006 at 5:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) practice and trend. trial and error. chr is basically how you effect the mob. although people say it isnt true it gives u a more effect voke, allows you to charm mobs easier (even though light is a bigger factor in that), it gives less resistance to songs AND enfeebling spells. basically.

True, you can not equip ammo when you have an instrument equiped. RDM52/BRD26(27)

Hmmmm sounds like an orc item? Odd that it'd give +2 CHR though.

Only use I can think of for this is WHM/BRD (leveling sub ^_^) or BLM/BRD (weird) or SMN/BRD (wtf?)

Having a sub BRD isn't all bad... a party buff is nice, though CHR has nothing to do with that. And having half singing skill and +2 CHR isn't going to help with debuffs either -.-
Where?
# Sep 23 2004 at 11:57 PM Rating: Good
I submitted this a couple days ago, and now it is up. I was hoping that by uploading it to the server I could get some discussion going and we could figure out where this comes from? It is pre-promathia expansion item, and I don't know anything about it. Nobody I have asked does either.

Does anyone know where it comes from?
would be nice

I'll be using this for the stats if nothing else, +2 chr and +1mnd from a slot I don't use would be nice ^^

This is like a morion tathlum, You don't throw em teehee
RE: stats
# Sep 24 2004 at 12:18 AM Rating: Good
Of course you wouldn't throw it, but the fact remains that it's a throwing weapon. As such, if a bard equipped it, the instrument would be removed. I dunno about most bards, but I'd much rather use the instrument.

There's beter stuff out there for the other mages to put in ammo slot, so bard is the only real surprise.

On the contrary... set up with a macro, this could be nice.. I have all my intruments macroed so that I can keep my happy egg in my ammo slot when i'm not singing spells. Granted, the +CHR would be useless for singing spells in this regard, but for my BLM this is still better than a morion tathlum, since not only do I get a +INT I also get a MND and CHR boost.

Doesn't CHR affect your hate anyway?

RE: stats
# Sep 24 2004 at 2:45 PM Rating: Excellent
Nope. According to SquareEnix, charisma has absolutely no effect on hate. They never said anything about provoke, but they did state that hate is not based on charisma.

Also, this item is level 50, according to the desc... As such, it's pretty much halfway between Holy Ampulla/Morion Tathlum and the Phantom Tathlum. 3 MP is negligible for a BLM, as is the 5 MP for a WHM on the Holy Ampulla. But at the same time, BLM wouldn't need MND, and WHM wouldn't need INT, unless I'm missing something important here. O.o

The CHR+2 is the best stat, but having access to the stat won't do you any good if you can't have it while singing a song. The only class I can see this actually being useful for is BST, and they can't use it.

At best, I'd say it's a possible substitute for Morion Tathlum or Holy Ampulla, and useless for bards altogether. x_x

RE: stats

Higher INT allows you to evade BLM based spells, and higher MND allows you to evade WHM based spells just as it also allows you to be more accurate with them.

In answer to your question about why a BLM would need MND or why a WHM would need int - (in addition to the above) USUALLY each has the other subbed, so it is pretty common for them to use each others spells.

As for the Bard, well.. It sure is better than having nothing isn't it?
RE: stats
# Sep 24 2004 at 9:55 PM Rating: Default
hahah, "better then having nothing"... are you retarded? All good bards have an instrument, so they can't use this... If you have an instrument on, you cant have any ammo, otherwise you could be even more of a kickass bard
RE: stats
# Sep 25 2004 at 4:14 PM Rating: Excellent
If you would have read my posts, and have any CLUE about what macros are, you will know that you can macro your instruments to rotate with ammo items.

Having SOMETHING in your ammo slot that you can switch out with your instrument is better than having NOTHING to swap out.

Here I post some very constructive information and you rate ME down and then call me a ******?Maybe you should think a little before calling someone retarded. Rate down for you.
