I've sat around there for about hours on different occasions and never saw Leaping Lizzy period. There were always a few high level characters around. The price history in the AH only shows 1 pair ever being sold for 190k gil. I wouldn't pay that much for them anyhow.

Well, I gave up after about an hour and a half running around the green rock killing rock lizards. The place is always crawling with high level characters trying to farm for it, who can blast or shoot if from a hundred yards away if it pops anyways.

From what I hear from some of the level 70 japanese players(who are always sitting around it trying to make an easy 200k because they apparently can't kill anything their own level), the drop depends on how much of the moon is showing at the time.

I know you also want spelling lessons, so here one is:
1. "Thay" is spelled "they".

I've now fought the Lizzy 3 times. It's a difficult thing to accomplish as there are level 50+'s patrolling the area waiting to swoop in and kill it in 2 hits. I was a thief, and as a level 11, it killed me with ease. By level 13, I was able to kill it with little difficulty. Like someone said, the rock lizards are placeholders, and it will randomly spawn in place of one of them around the big rock in F8. Therefore, kill every rock lizard that spawns so that the Lizzy can potentially respawn in it's place. It isn't a 2 hour spawn like someone said because I've seen 2 within a half hour period (and got beaten to both of them -_-)

lizzy does spawn around the green rock, usually on the higher ground to the east of it. it's not a two hour spawn, the rock lizards are placeholders.

I was huntin Lizzy and it popped around 1:30 and it dropping the boots during a waning moon -SouKhan

so I FINALLY saw a Leaping Lizzy..... and I killed it...and it was only slightly a challenge... and IT DIDN'T DROP THE BOOTS!!! OH MAN!

lol don't worry about that. i'm 0/5 with the lizzy. they spawn at random places, at random times.

Im very excited for you.. is this the response you were looking for? Must have been.. Otherwise perhaps you would have indicated to us what level you fought it at (since it was slightly a challenge), maybe what time of day it was, and perhaps where it showed up?

there must be specific conditions for leaping lizzy to show up. she isn't on either of the hills near the fumaroles or around the light house. anyone have any clues?

Killed him many times (around 15), got the boots (and keep it, they are good as a thf).
Lezard are not the only placeholder, you need to clean the whole area to have a chance of making him spawn. I saw a level 70 Dragoon who cleaned every mobs in the area and made him spawn 5 min later (but i catch it :p ).
Common spawn point is around the quadav camp but already saw him in the center of the area and near the Crab's lake also.
Best combo to catch him is Thf/war if it's heavely camped or Thf/ranger if it's not.
Thf for flee and drop bonus but not sure it works, war for provoke, thf for scan.
Moon phasis is not true imo, already saw him spawn many times with every other symbol.
Good luck and sorry for my bad english, hope you will understand.
