This week San d'Oria is 1st, Bastok 2nd, and Windurst 3rd.
This iron mask is not availble in Bastok, but it is in San d'Oria.

Well, it fails a lot, but I managed to get Brass and Iron ingots from desynthing these.

NQ= Brass
HQ1= Brass
HQ2= Brass
HQ3= Iron

I am pretty sure thats what you can get from desynthing these.

I never knew about de-synthesizing things. Man I really need to get back into the game.

Granted your skill is high enough, lightning crystal + item = components.

I was in Port San d'Oria and I saw a guy lose a Goblin Helmet, then immediately afterward he made an iron mask. He didn't answer my tell, but I'm pretty sure that he was making the iron mask using the helm.

Goblin (and other beastman stuff) can be broken down into components (like ingots and stuff). Most likely he was breaking the helmet down to get part for the iron mask.

Wow, how exactly does one break down the beast-made items to obtain the components??

You can 'de-synthesize' many items using a Lightning crystal and, in some cases, a Wind Crystal. For instance, breaking down Yagudo Necklaces can yeild eithe Copper Ingots (Lightning) or Grass Thread (Wind).
