I think the level is off on this one since I am only a level 2 smith and successfully made a face guard (with the help of advanced image support). It's probably in the 6-8 area.

I'm a level 4 Blacksmith. I talked to the guy who offers advanced imaging support to get some recommendations as to what to craft. NOTE: Whatever the Advanced Imaging Guy (The Guildmaster) recommends will usually make you go up in craft skill. Without imaging support I succesfully crafted the faceguard so I do believe that its at least as low as lvl 4 blacksmith.

By the level up there it's meant that you will gain experience until that lvl, lvl 5-lvl 6 should use this recipe to lvl their smithing skills ;), gl crafting
