This is a really decent way to make money if you're new and started in Bastok. If you check the AH in San d'Oria/Windurst/Jeuno, these Scale Mails are usually several thousand gil more expensive than what this vendor sells them for. Stock up on the vendor armor, and sell it in one of the other cities. It's slow money, but it's money nonetheless. Best if you just use a mule for it.

It is true that some items when you craft them they level both skills, a good example is hatchets(cap lvl8 smithing) they level both smithing and woodworking

1x Fire Crystal
2x Bronze Ingot
1x Maple Lumber

A stack usually goes for about 5.9k on Ifrit server.

P.S. next time please post this is the Tradeskill Forum ^_^

Dumb question

Hey guys, I'm only a lvl 12 Rdm so please be patient because this is probably going to sound like a dumb question. I was reading the Red Mage 101 section and it said that for the level that I'm at right now I should be sporting the Royal Footman's Tunic w/Scale Armor. Is this the scale armor? If not, where would I find this combo? Can you wear this over top of the tunic? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since the other person that replied to you was still kind of unclear, what it meant was wear Royal Footman's Tunic for body, and Scale Finger Gauntlets, Scale Cuisses, and Scale Greaves for your hands, legs, and feet slots, respectively. Honestly though, I think tunics are pure suck, and you should wear Scale Mail rather than the tunic, so that you can equip a Brass Hairpin (or Brass Hairpin +1, if you can afford it) on your head for the extra MP. Wearing a tunic prevents you from being able to equip any headgear.

The RDM 101 meant to wear the royal footman's tunic for the body and scale armor for the rest, you cannot wear armor over another piece of armor
I agree

Does anyone know....If an item takes two crafts to make....does that mean if you repeatedly make it...you can level both requiered crafts simultaneously?

You can level up both crafts at the same time. It doesn't happen very often, but it can happen. I am 100% certain.

Good Investment

Whether you quest for this armor or buy it, it is probably the best armor available for a warrior until bone or lizard.(6 or 7 levels later) Its worth the investment either way.
