Some guy was camping this when I was happily pulling for my party in Valkurm, SAM17. We a had a PL so IT flies were the best decision. We didn't feel the need to move camp so we stayed put at the beach, preying on Pugils and Flies.
Flies... if we could get any! That one camper kept killing all my flies. I sent him a /tell and told him to stop killing them. He then replied with "No. Makes NM spawn faster." Hmmm... so my killing them would be far different? >.> Dumbass.

I'm on the Sylph Server. I didn't want to hunt the Emperor becuz of the other hunters. The price on the Jeuno AH was 600k, so doesn't sound too bad to the other servers.
But after a 1 1/2 months and saving up 300k, the price goes up to 700k!!! ><
I wasn't too happy. I said, "!@#$ it, the pin ain't worth that much to me."

I'm back on an update on the pin. It is now 750k on the Sylph Server.

I agree curse the dam gil farmers and my LS agree's as well.I camped {1/5} this and the leepin lizzie {1/6} and you really dont wanna know about the ugly bunny for the rabbit charm i am 1 for 12!!!! it took over 2 weeks to do at playing 4 hrs. a day and you do have to have voke or you dont have A chance in hell of getting them I learned.This is going for 600k agv. on the Carbuncle server.Leeping boot also the same amount and I also think that the new AH taxes are rediculous as well!!!

I think you'll find that its normal players who have pushed the price up on Sylph (and probably most servers). People who sell gil are as likely to be high lvl crafters or people who mine all day.
Just because people are camping an NM and trying to get more money for an item doesn't make them a gil sellar.

I've seen this thing hit the 1 million mark on Pandemonium. Typically it bounces between 850k and 950k, and slowly becoming more commonly sold for 950k. My one regret is that I had 500k saved up for this thing when it was only 600k and decided to raise crafting skills to build up the Gil instead of just farming for a while to get the rest. Anyway, long story short, the price got jacked up by about 100k every time I made the rest of the Gil to buy it. Just dinged to 37 tonight, and between gear and arrows (I spend at least 20k a level now) I'm now down to about 100k. I can understand the price jump, because the competition is getting really fierce out there in the dunes these days, there's a minimum of 6 campers at all times that are trying to get it for Gil and another 4 minimum that are trying to get it to use. I'm starting to think my poor RNG will never have one of these things at this rate...it's a shame there are no real alternatives (My RSE boots are actually a decent replacement for the Leeping Boots, so that's a plus there. +3 STR, +2 CHR, and some added HP...I barely miss anyway being Mithra with dual Archer Knives, so the added damage seems like a better choice to me).

About 850k on Seraph. I refuse to buy this even if I had enough gil. It's going too high. If there are over 12 of these on an AH at one time I think it's safe to say the thing is overpriced. Yet even though there are a dozen on the AH in Jeuno the price continues to go up. They need to create a price cap or something. That tax BS only favors gilsellers and needs to be stopped.
Well not everyone there is a Gilseller. In fact I have seen you on Seraph in the dunes while me and some others from my link shell were hunting the Emp. It sucks not getting the hairpin i have wanted one for a long time... Still dont have on I can call my own.

is there a way to petition to SE about these drops and maybe they should be made rare/ex....becuase someone brought that point up, which is completely valid.....

Not everyone thatfarm/hunts NMs are bots. Members of the link shell i am in have been hunting it for months. There are normal alot of botter/gilsellers out there.
Hunting each NM takes time to learn. I personal dont think it should sell so high. But The last time we dropped the price of them Gilfarmers bought them and resold them. As long as people pay 800k or up they will sell for that. I dont thing 300k to 500k is a bad price. I mean it takes at lessed 400k to get thief to 45. Even with a lvl 45 theif gets drop 1 in 3 some times less.

hey guys stop buying this....this is now the most overcamped and overpriced item in the game....its going for over 1 mil in some servers...

i think SE should just make the Emp Hairpin, Leeping Boots, and anything else that is astranomically overpriced to Rare/EX this way everyone will get a chance to get them and the Gilsellers will be effectively put out of business.

I twitched as I read your post; the rare/ex idea isn't that bad but when you said
The evasion +10 is the lesser part of the item. You can have your fun trying to find an item under level 24 that has 2 +3 stats.

I'm honestly convinced that it's not the rarity of the item that drives the price up...there are usually plenty of them on AH (not just drops, but people selling thiers to take advantage of the high prices), but the fact that at least 3 of them sell each day, and this thing spawns about 4-6 times a day, and maybe drops once or twice a day, there's always going to be more people trying to buy them than there are hairpins to sell, and what's an extra 50k when you have 900k to pay for it? Not much at all. That's where the price hikes come from. And from my personal experience, you either spend that extra 50k now or spend an extra 100k next week...

The worth of this item depends on what ur using it for. I know a THF/WAR whose going to go THF/NIN and NIN/THF. A NIN/THF blink tank doesnt have the defensive bonuses that NIN/WAR gets, so hes going to have this piece as his major evasion gear, even the Optical Hat can top this when it comes to evasion.
I'd just like to know, what's this guy's spawn rate?

I saw a WHM (full AF armour, so high level) camping this a while back, and there was a call for a raise.
He ran off to raise said dead person, and the thing spawned right where he was stood previously, and someone else got it.
I had to laugh, but felt slightly sorry for him at the same time.

Well, I went back 90 minutes after emperor was killed.. Camped another 90 minutes, popped right infront of me... Got the drop. Spawns seemed normal. Guess I was imagining it. Using my 51 THF, had no problems. ^^
Now have a hairpin for both characters.
